I wonder how long it’s going to be before Donald actually starts throwing his critics and enemies into detention centers and jails? Probably after he “postpones” the upcoming election, using the Coronavirus as an excuse for a national emergency. Can’t happen here? Don’t count on it.

With oil at $35 a barrel now would be a good time to buy a bunch for the strategic petroleum reserve.

The best thing we can hope for is that this psychopathic murderer will be the Marie Antoinette that will bring down the bloody house of Saud. We can also hope he and the rest of his ilk will follow her to the same destiny. He is playing with fire by inconveniecing his Masters on Wall Street. They may decide he needs to go the way of other such puppets they have dispensed with in the past. Perhaps he'll end up in a bullet-riddled trunk of a car like some of America's previously discarded tools.

According to our calendar this is the twenty first century, yet wonders never cease.

the story about him detaining royal members is completely false. the four royal members were seen in many different social gatherings throughout this week and at least four times after you posted the news about them.

That reads like a press statement by MBS ministry of propaganda. Oh, and there was no bone saw. Mr. Kashoggi strangled himself, too?
Charles Spencer III (Las Vegas)
False. OPEC lost control of the prices when it died out. OPEC+ IS SCRAMBLING to control the dollar. The international reserve note is no longer in power since trade has replaced the triffon delima exchange rate system. IMF will not be able to change rates now. This is a desparate attempt at control by Central banks to maintain globalism. 1. OPEC+ is not controlled by Salman. 2. No one wants to talk about the Khazarian mob loosing control as well since 2 got arrested.

When will Trump and Jared admit they’re been befriending an enemy of the American people?

MBS is a feudal prince in the world's oldest dicatorship. No doubt, Trump must admire his limitless power- to be able to murder an international figure, execute a couple of his henchmen and be called a modern figure because he uses the internet and analytic data research to further his fortune. Now the US Government is put out because their loyal allies (armed to the teeth with US weapons of war) are following their own interests by boosting oil output. Have no fear. The Trump regime will come up with a "great deal for us" like selling the Saudi family advanced weapons of mass destruction" and the green light for more Saudi war against Yemen, and Saudi oil output will step back a bit-helping our own US oil billionaires profits.

"Western officials worry about the 'reputational risk' of associating with such an unpredictable leader." Gee, millions of Yemenites and Khashoggi must be so pleased to hear. This is sure to produce dramatic results. And change. Big time.

Coincidentally, I have also detained members of my family and started and oil price war! (Small World Dept.)

Putin to Prince: “That alleged missle that allegedly sunk your oil carriers in route to China to dump oil ... didn’t come from Russia, I assure you.” Trump to Prince: “I believe him.”

While the world is distracted by the coronavirus and falling stock markets, MBS comes out to play.

These oil price actions scream desperation. Ditto for arresting his relatives this week and of course, the killing of Kashoggi. There is something seriously wrong in Saudi Arabia, or maybe with this young prince or both. Companies should steer clear of doing business with them, and I think, in light of these recent acts, they will. Which should accelerate whatever trouble the country is in.
Donna M (Huntingdon, PA)
@Craig I don't know??? You can do a bit of word-smithing to your above statement and be talking about tRump/US. It seems if there is money to be made, corporations are willing to take risks. Maybe that will change because the convergence of COVID-19 coupled with the market fall due to this oil standoff could really bring the entire global economy down? Nah! There's always someone willing to make a buck--sadly.

Maybe MBS will finally be ousted in a palace coup when he tanks Saudi Arabia's economy. Or when his father becomes too feeble to protect him.

The attorney general under the next president of the US needs to issue an international arrest warrent for MBS for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. This would send a strong signal to the rest of the world that, unlike Trump, the US does not turn a blind eye to murder in exchange for arms sales. If he can never leave Saudi his power will eventually wane and he will hopefully be overthrown my the more moderate elements in the kingdom.
