Mr. Moneybags gets another promotion piece while the candidate who is leading him by double-digits is not even mentioned because he is a Socialist. Corporate media in action.

I have no problem with Bloomberg being asked tough questions. That's fair play. For months all of the leading candidates have been grilled, even eviscerated....EXCEPT BERNIE!!! Why does he constantly get a pass, never answering a question he doesn't like and constantly playing the "grievance/victim card" (sound familiar?)?? The only steady paycheck Bernie's ever had is from the taxpayer, representing the smallest, whitest, lowest GDP state in the country for the last 30+ years. His accomplishments: ZERO...well, except for amassing a personal net worth of $11ML...as a public servant. Guess that's why he quit ranting about millionaires and now only targets billionaires. Bernie's got more ugly baggage than any 3 candidates but gets a pass. He has ZERO executive, administrative, managerial, foreign policy or military experience. ZERO leadership skills: Look at his evasive non-answers to the multiple virulent online attacks by his "fans", and even his campaign staffers, of anyone who dares criticize St. Bernie. Has anyone in media even read his M4All bill which isn't Medicare at all? By all means grill Mike. But do your duty and grill Bernie, the apparent front-runner. Quit giving the most unqualified candidate a pass!!

I will always say Bloomberg as nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing. He claims to be with us, but in reality, he is nothing of the sort. Don't forget that when was mayor he always claim that there was hardly any money to help the public sector, but at the same time he seemed to have a lot to help his rich buddies and pet projects while making claims to snub everyone else. Also, he had a history of claiming that there were problems just be creating themselves and blaming everyone else be it overcrowding public schools to close them, making neighborhoods seem blighted to encourage development, or even create traffic to help push for congestion pricing. More importantly, he was known for pushing gentrification throughout much of the city that really made it a playground for the rich while pricing out longtime residents and business that have been there for decades. Overall, despite his support for climate change and gun control, hie is still a businessman no matter what he says. BTW, the only real reason why he won his terms was mainly due to his campaign ads play constantly while almost no air time was given for his opponents and that was due to how much he spent for them.

The New York Times seems to be writing articles that criticize Mike Bloomberg. I truthfully don’t understand this. I lived in New York during his second and third mayoral stents. I volunteered for him during his third run and he was a good mayor. It’s a huge job and he did it well. Did he make mistakes, of course, and he’s apologized for them. He’s asking for is a chance to run for President of this country. He’s paying for it himself; he stands on his record; he’s self-made. It’s almost like the Times is critical of people who are extremely successful financially by their own wits.

I wrote a pro-Bloomberg yesterday morning and a follow-up that evening when the first was not published. The second did not get published either. I guess I am on a blacklist.

As a Staten Island Ferry passenger, I too wondered when we'd have a decent view of Alcatraz. I decided not to complain too much when I realized that the ride was free. I guess you have to pay for a boat ride in the New York Harbor that gives you that elusive view of Alcatraz.

Here's what to watch for as Bloom berg makes his debate debut tonight: How many times will he lie in order to deny all the racist and misogynistic comments he has made in the past? That he is rising in the polls reveals a whole lot about the hypocrisy of many Democrats.

Government is not a business and we need to reject people who try to convince us that it can be run that way.
BigFootMN (Lost Lake, MN)
@AC Some (and I emphasize, SOME) business practices transfer well to government. Bankruptcy is NOT one of them. But organization and focus on outcomes is important in both. Also, equal and humane treatment of the individual, whether employee or customer/citizen will go a long way towards making a policy that is good governance. But emphasis ONLY on bottom line, while seemingly a priority in business, is not so much in the humane treatment of individuals in government.

tune of "Luck Be a Lady Tonight" (not technically written in its show as a Vegas song, but it kind of really is) Mike is debating tonight Mike is debating tonight Mike's never been a good debater but he's in this Mike is debating tonight Mike's spending money so free Not sure that's how it should be But now his profile is what we have to contend with Mike is debating, we'll see. His billions buy him recognition But can they also buy him votes? Those billions do not mean he can cover his tracks When faced with old speeches and quotes But let's not draw blood when we fight. Though that doesn't mean be polite. Dems need to win, and many don't care who we win with. And we're all debating tonight. And Mike is debating tonight.

Mike B. was my mayor in NYC for 12 years( I was also born in the city). I give him a B plus. I favored Beto, Booker and Mayor Pete but on Monday February 24th in early voting I will vote for Mayor Bloomberg. Why? Great manager. Big heart. Will get things done—particularly with infrastructure, climate change and gun safety. He will form an outstanding government.
chris (jersey city)
@Mike yeah right. a heart of stone.
N. Smith (New York City)
To be quite honest, there is nothing Bloomberg can say that will get me to vote for him, because like many New Yorkers I've already seen enough during his over-extended Mayoral stay to know what he's be like once in the White House -- and saying he'd be better than Trump won't cut it, when in too many ways he would be just more of the same. America doesn't need another kazillionaire president. And there's no such thing as a "better" Autocrat.
SParker (Brooklyn)
@N. Smith Thank you for reelecting Trump.
Bill (NY)
The only difference between Trump and Bloomberg, is that Bloomberg is trying to buy the election. For a person of color born in this city, Bloomberg made Rudy look like MLK His persecution and marginalization of minorities bordered on a pogrom. Bloomberg gets the nomination, I vote 3rd party
Nick Pastrami (Long Island)
Don’t begrudge him his success as a businessman, judge him by his ideas how he intends to implement them.
N. Smith (New York City)
@Nick Pastrami It's not his "success as a businessman" that I take umbrage with as much as some of his ideas, and the implementation of them.
Mike (Western MA)
@Nick Pastrami I like Mike. The Bernibros loathe him. I will vote for Bloomberg.
