Impeachment Through the Eyes of a Child

Maybe the impeachment process should be done by children since the president acts like one and this would give him a jury of his peers

Partisan means immaturity according to androgyny & pedagogy theory, what I learned. Matured people have the ability to accept the difference of opinion after discussion/debate/moderation and take the Right Decision. But Children are more aggression to their interest and cannot accept the difference of opinion in any way until they reach the maturity with adult education. I think, aged house members behave like immature children, having lack of adult education, dedication and credibility. Both parties want power and not the dedication and work for the country. However, I like the slogan , "Make America Great Again", if it is true. The ultimate activity, contribution and developmental result will determine who is right or wrong. Biasing, partisan, partiality are very bad for the nation, country and world. I see most of the electronic and print media exceeded their Broadcast ethics of Impartiality and lost the credibility completely. One day mass people will reject them. Because, according to natural selection theory, the nature, people select the good ones and rejects the all the bad ones; example your shopping.

The spellling errors on the paper shows how much our education system is failing.

Does it?

@Kevin Y an error shows, errors show. Pot, meet kettle.

and the misspelling of spelling.

Personally, really not a fan of this one. Listening to little kids parrot their parents political talking points is a bit ridiculous.

@Taylor That’s bad, but this is even worse - by design, IMO. Having an eight year old give “his” take on politics not only allows the host to lead the child to the desired conclusions, it also allows debatable characterizations of people and events (like Trump’s call with Zelensky) to become beyond criticism, since they’re coming from the mouth of a small child. Major media outlets have become mere bullhorns for the establishment and employing this new reprehensible tactic of using the voice of a child is simultaneously facile and contemptible.

Thank you for re-sharing. I had missed the original podcast. Leo's thoughtfulness is authentic. The recent reconnection conversation may be representative of what some may feel - moving onto other interests. That is called life.

Soooo pleased for this rebroadcast. Definitely one of my favorites of 2019. Leo is one of my heroes. Bright and brave young man who helped me learn about impeachment. I want to see his drawing!

@John a If you learned anything about impeachment from an eight year old, that says more about you than about Leo. I thought NYT/NPR were treating their audience like children, but maybe they know their audience well.

@IskaWaran Wow...way to generalize an entire audience. Also, the key point is this eight year old is asking the right questions instead of making generalizations based on opinions. Trust me America could stand to learn a lot from that!!

This podcast really hits home!! My daughter is 15 and tells me the same thing. She feels she can't have these conversations with her friends because all they are interested in is who is currently "going viral". She asks me a lot of questions. Its interesting to get a child's perspective, even they seem to understand right and wrong as black and white. But we have a large majority of a political party who just cant seem to get it. And another portion who will blindly follow. I have have had many conversations with individuals who seem to believe patriotism means to blindly follow which somehow proves your love of this country. If that is what patriotism is then there would be no America! Patriotism is one who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors!!! Which means there is another conversation to be had about enemies and detractors!!

I really wanted to hear why the little guy would vote for Joe Biden.
nyt_mtm (Austin Texas)
@Leigh he went to Delaware Beach ( the dolphin whistle blower analogy ), so maybe that's it. Booker was his home state senator too.
IskaWaran (Minneapolis)
@Leigh Maybe Leo really likes Biden’s tough approach to super predators, his bankruptcy reform and his fight to stop busing. And when Leo is finally eligible to vote for president - in 2032 - Biden might still be running. He’ll be 89, but he’ll be doing push-ups like a champ.
