I recall a republican legislator passionately describe how the impeachment process is an affront to voters. In that voters elected Trump, it is up to voters to remove him by means of an election. I understand that line of reasoning, however it overlooks the essence of the matter.
Trump is facilitating what amounts to a hostile takeover of America by Russia. If a majority of the electorate thinks that is in the best interest of the United States of America, then they are responsible for the Constitution consequences.
