is this show still on TV? Who is watching? Whitehouse survivor aka Whitehouse apprentice is more controversial....

Obviously Dan Spilo wasn’t a survivor. Mindless entertainment for the masses - great fun.

Survivor is still a thing? Now that's news to me.

Yeah, hard to believe, right? And some people are so into the show that they even read NY Times’ articles about the show and then comment on said article...

So complaints, witness' and on camera incidents, and still it took until after they booted the complaining woman and then he did it again, to kick him out.

Why Dan was allowed to stay in the game after the accusation by Kim, the belated accusations by two other women (later recanted) and, importantly, the documentation of the misconduct on camera is beyond me. Sexual harassment is not part of a game. Women going on Survivor expect a lot of intrusion into their lives, possible humiliation by other contestants. They sign up for that and, I'm sure, sign releases. But harassment goes way beyond the pale. Nobody signs up to be pawed. Dan should have been led off the set when the first complaint was lodged. I understand that was day one.

Survivor is oddly compelling because people are terrible. Dangle a million bucks and they will do or say anything. Eventually it will devolve into bloodsport because people are terrible.

It's clear that the producers kept Spilo on for one reason: ratings. Keeping women safe from sexual harassment was their last priority. Shame on them.

When you're playing cards and someone misdeals you re-shuffle and re-deal. I wish we could have a friendly re-deal here. Unfortunately players lost their shot at winning because of Dan and his inappropriate behavior. I can understand the difficult situation that the producers were in. We love survivor, I hope they make everyone happy and let us know about it.

The only Mark Burnett created survivor I want kicked off is one Donald Trump. He too has confessed to inappropriate touching on TV.

I wonder how this will affect Dan's business. He is one of four partners in a talent management firm that has 34 people working there. He swore, convincingly, on a stack of bibles at tribal his behavior was squeaky clean at work. But if he can't keep his hands off women on the Survivor set, especially after at least one very serious warning, how believable is it that his daily behavior is better? The instant his touching came up and he explained he was a boss at a Los Angeles talent agency with 34 people, I thought "Harvey Weinstein."

Survivor handled this situation appropriately, giving notice and escalating the consequences to the player and removing him from the game when appropriate. They were obviously monitoring the contestant closely. Survivor is a gold standard on reality TV in how to deal with contestant issues that cross the game boundary. It's really a great show and you can learn a lot about interpersonal relationships by watching it.

I'm assuming Dan has access to some very good Hollywood legal counsel so it'll be interesting to see how this ultimately plays out. While his onscreen behavior does appear to be inappropriate , the show is heavily edited along storyboard lines. So it's hard to glean the "truth" by simply watching the show. It's now up to Dan to respond if he wishes to do so.

Take two aspirin, turn the TV off for the rest of the evening, and call me in the morning.

I watched the first two or three seasons of the show and found it had become predictable and boring. It is show premised on contestants humiliating themselves and others. How this show is still on TV is a surprise to me. I am not surprised, however, to see show runners try to exploit workplace sexual assault to attract new viewers and to keep existing viewers engaged.

People Magazine is reporting that this involved a crew member. They report that they talked with several members of production who confirmed that after the immunity challenge, Dan touched a female crew member's leg. Dan claims it was accidental, but crew members believe it was intentional, and after legal counsel, they decided to remove him from the game.

Dan should have been removed right away. His creepy, lingering presence was disturbing. Primarily because he was heavily affecting the outcome of the game! The right thing to do would be to generously compensate all players who were voted out after Dan's creepy hands became in issue -- which was early on in the game. The contestants Elizabeth, Elaine, Janet -- their games were directly affected by and intertwined with the affects of Dan's unacceptable behavior, yet Dan was allowed to stay in the game. It was sickening to see Dan creepily hanging out in the shadows, raising his arms to invite hugging of the female contestants in their swim suits. I love watching Survivor and sincerely hope in the future this type of situation is ethically handled and the offender is immediately taken out.
