Holy smokes! A house in Rowayton on less than a TENTH of an acre, almost 20 grand in taxes, and NO garage! For the low low price of 1.3 million. But just think - you get Norwalk schools too! How lucky can you be?

@Tom — Just goes to show how property and land values vary depending on where you are in the U.S. For real eye-openers, check out the homes for sale in NYC. I find both this feature and the New York feature fascinating for that reason, and something I look forward to checking out every week. Some of these homes are stunning, price aside.

@Tom - I guess you've never visited Rowayton. It has excellent train service to NYC, an amazing public library, and a very charming downtown that is fun to visit. It is gorgeous! Btw, what's with the swipe at Norwalk schools? I quickly checked and see that the graduation rate at Norwalk High schools is 87.3% and in bucolic Bluffton? 24% according to your school hub (I sure hope that is incorrect).

The Hartsdale house is lovely -- including the kitchen. Backing up onto an undeveloped parcel of land could be a problem depending on zoning. If it's not a protected preserve -- uh-oh.
