This is not the first major motion picture to touch the subject of sexual harassment but it will be the first to make it the central theme since ME TOO! It's about time. As a man, I have been disgusted by the evidence of behavior so widespread among so many of those of my gender who have used their power and influence to take advantage of women for their personal pleasure. I was taught to be polite and respect other people. This practice is not dependent upon the gender, age, race, status or national origin of the person to whom consideration should be shown. As I see it, "Bombshell" is also about a very specific person-- Roger Ailes-- whose rise at Fox coincides with the weaponization of that network for rightwing causes. Objectification and exploitation of women fits the M.O. of the thuggery we have seen so blatantly on display in the age of Fox News propaganda as an apology for Trump and his excessive abuses. It is refreshing to see these charlatans brought down a few notches and I hope we will see more motion pictures that will tackle this oppressiveness in our society by the unscrupulous and the powerful.

She’s a class act with an apparent handle on the issues.

Can’t wait to see this as long as they treat the subject material as it should be. Fox being a dark forest in America with its popularity supported by the worst of humanity’s instincts. Fear anger greed aggression willful ignorance and violence.A dark comedy to be sure

The interviewee sounds more intelligent than the interviewer who seems to have an agenda.

I'll pass.

I have always adored Charlize Theron. First, of course, was her amazing beauty. Then it was the passion and intensity and professionalism she brings to her roles. And finally, as in interviews like this, and her choices of how to use her fame & fortune to influence the national dialogue, I have come to admire her intellect and her commitment to helping all of us to advance our civilization and our understanding of one another. I expect this movie to be entertaining and moving; more than that, I hope that men and women alike will absorb the underlying message, and alter their views of male dominance and control in the work environment and in society. I'd say we've had plenty of experience with men running things; as Keb' Mo' has said, it's time to "Put a Woman in Charge."

I sincerely hope the film is better than the trailer.

@Mark Crozier If they play that “music “ from the trailer, I’m hitting the mute button!

I force myself to flip over to Fox now and again, just to catch up on what the right-wing masses are feeding on. It's so depressing first of all because of the outright lies and misrepresentations and then the tone seems negative, angry, critical, arch, sarcastic and belittling. Sometimes I mute the sound and just study faces. Not all, but many of the females have a hard-edged, almost lacquered look; I've wondered if that's just how Roger likes 'em. Or is the brittle made-up lock a type of protective armour? I read several of the women's stories in either the New Yorker of New York Magazine which detailed some of what they endured from the vile Roger Ailes. To me, he always looked like Jabba the Hut --or the "after" picture of Dorian Gray.

I am not a fan of Fox News or Megyn Kelly, and I found her very unlikeable on Today but the women of Fox News were basically treated as if they deserved this treatment, as if they should have expected this behavior by virtue of working for Fox. Ms. Kelly & Gretchen Carlson were not treated as victims but were further demeaned. It’s no different than the waitress who needs the job that puts up with the creepy customers. No one wants to feel like a victim but until you acknowledge what was done, it will be impossible to heal, and I hope Ms Kelly can, I would interested to see the person inside the armor.

One can't help but admire Theron, but Fox and Roger Ailes are responsible for sewing much of the political division in this country. A movie about Fox and its impact on our country would be more interesting than a movie about sexual harassment, although that is a worthy project as well.

Sowing, not sewing. Sowing seeds.

She is one impressive actor, businesswoman, and observer of human nature. And refreshingly honest. Can't wait to see Bombshell, looks great.

Incredibly bad judgment on the part of Annapurna Pictures. Finally a movie I want to go see.

“Bombshell” with Charlize Theron is going to be a great example for women who have been sexually harassed to know that they’re not alone...to see what happens to even empowered women who have national prominence. What do you do when you have been sexually harassed at work and can’t afford to lose your job, much less cover the costs of a legal case? Where can you go and feel protected from further retaliation? In Hawai’i as a civil rights attorney I have found in the years since 1986 that I have been doing sexual harassment cases that these are the concerns of the survivors of these sexual assaults, these sexual harassments. It’s not that women don’t have the courage to speak out per se—rather they are fearful. In fear for their own safety. In fear of ruining their career, being demoted or just straight up fired—basically, of not being able to support themselves or their family, especially if they are single women. Another reason victims of workplace abuse abandon their claims is the use of forced arbitration to silence over 29 million working women. In arbitration the odds are often stacked against employees: the facts, proceedings and resolution are kept private. But public allegations made in court empower other workers to come forward and help ensure that employers can be held accountable for their actions.Arbitration has helped hide the true extent of sexual harassment at many companies, and has helped shield serial harassers from accountability, sometimes for years.

In all forms-- print journalism, documentaries, movies, tv, etc-- let's get the all the #metoo stories out into the light. This behavior needs to change immediately. By any mean necessary.

How about a book/movie on how Rupert Murdoch throughout his entire life cultivated and promoted environments that breeds the likes of Ailes,O'Reilly, Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson. They all collected tens of millions peddling shallow trashy tabloids. And no doubt they all know in advance what Murdoch whole life is all about?

By bringing up the “Santa Clause” topic, the journalist seems to betray personal issue with Megyn Kelly considering the journalist herself is black.
BQ (Cleveland)
"Prosthetics"?? What on earth is she talking about??
Doug (NJ.)
@BQ If you can't see them, then they're really good!
R.G. Frano (NY, NY)
I admire the actors playing 'fox_folk' in this film; as for the talking_heads, depicted? Not, nearly so much!!
Dheep' (Midgard)
" Why would I eliminate that interest?" Besides being a great actor, she is smart enough and strong enough to go her own way. Without bending in the winds of PC opinions.
Deb H. (Los Angeles)
Have seen this film in a screening, and she is phenomenal (ditto Kidman, Robbie, and Lithgow).
Finding Truth (Island Living)
She is an awesome talent. Her life story is also quite inspiring— and better than any movie.

As a male, I have to say I felt better after reading this interview. Theron is a phenomenal actress - and, of course, a beautiful woman. I felt better because learning what she felt during the making of this film gives me hope that the really awful destructive relationship so often between the sexes is being aired out, illuminated, so that men have a harder time denying what goes on and how they are so very often complicit in doing bad, bad things to other human beings, who happen to be women (one in three women in the US is the victim of assault, wartime statistics). I felt good because, with Donald Trump in the White House, to know that intelligent people, and brilliant actors like Theron, are working to reveal the destructive acts and behavior of men, is for me a counter to Trump and his absolutely phenomenal crude blindness and cruelty to women. I thank her and the Times for publishing this story.
Peter Malbin (New York City)
Charlize Theron is an amazing actress, and I can’t wait to see this.

I love movies, and there are many performers I especially like. But only one that makes me feel like actually celebrating her. This made my otherwise crummy day.
