And she's self made, since she married her rich guy boss when she worked at the Intercontinental Exchange.

She may be a “centrist” by Hannity’s criteria but she will be motivated by McConnell’s whip to move to Trump’s service.

Loeffler has a mind of her own. Finally, a republican with integrity.

How does co-owning a basketball team make someone qualified to be a representative? Don't we have enough over-confident wealthy people doing enough damage already?

If Ms. Loeffler votes in lockstep, as is currently almost assured of any GOP senator or either gender, her gender won't protect her. Kemp clearly engaged in voter suppression tactics, as the manager of the elections system, while running for governor. Governor Abrams should be making that Senate appointment and she would have appointed for someone who would vote for commonsense gun laws, in accordance with good public health policy and equal rights for women on reproductive helath issues and support the more than justified impeachment of this deranged and dangerous president.

Ah! A chink in the armor. Could this be the start of the unraveling of Trump's hold on the Republican Party?

No. McConnell holds the whip. She will soon learn to “go along to get along”.

Georgia is slowly but assuredly moving to the left, in particular, the Atlanta suburbs. Like many other large cities, the metro areas are spreading further and further out, and Atlanta’s advantage is, it can expand 360 degrees, there are interstates crisscrossing the city and no natural boundary like an ocean, and has the largest airport in the world. With the added population (educated) to the suburbs, the liberal content grows in leaps and bounds. Governor Kemp sees this every day, he lives here in Atlanta. His pick was the right political move too, Senator Isakson was a moderate, and Doug Collins though big in his northeast corner of Georgia, he will not sell in Atlanta metro. Whether or not Ms. Loeffler can hold onto the seat next year in the primary, remains a question, but my bet would be on her. Kemp is well aware where the political winds are moving, to the left, and he is trying to adjust to keep his seat as Governor. It won’t last though, the die is cast here in Georgia. More and more liberal thinkers move here every year, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Democratic presidential nominee win the state in 2020.

GA's republican governor knows that Trump's toxic brand no longer works in many parts of his state. Expect others to follow in the coming months.

So now republicans are centrist due to supporting Mitt Romney. Thanks for my daily chuckle!

Another inexperienced conservative CEO. Just what this country needs.

@PSA She is better than the one that Trump wanted.
R. Anderson (South Carolina)
@PSA A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and Ms Loeffler could make the republican party seem at least a bit desirable if she divorces Trump.
