Saw original production at MTC in 2007 and loved this show. I will try hard to see it again at Irish Rep.

Oh, would some NYC theatre company PLEASE bring back Pumpboys & Dinettes! I can still remember the incredible foot-stomping, clanging, banging energy of that musical and its many catchy songs even though I saw it decades ago. I would really love to see it one more time in my life.

Dang. Headline made me think someone was doing a gender reversal version of "Pumpboys and Dinettes" but they're not so what am I doing here? Just introducing the idea to the cosmos. Come on, cosmos, give it to us, okay?

@bu - John Doyle was thinking of.doing "Pump Boys and Dinettes" with Bo Bice (of American idol fame) back in 2013, but that revival didn't happen. https://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/12/11/bo-bice-is-broadway-bound-in-pump-boys-and-dinettes/ It's certainly classic enough to fit CSC, if anyone asks me. (One of the "Pump Boys..." writers, Cass Morgan, was in the John Doyle production off "As You Like It" a couple of years ago, so everyone probably still likes everybody. And to keep this Irish Rep-themed, where "Pumpgirl" is, Leenya Rideout who was in that 2013 announced cast, starred in her musical "Wild Abandon" at Irish Rep about a year ago. And for the rule of threes: I was quietly singing that show's"No holds barred, I'm going to Florida" in the Tampa Marriott airport shuttle last Friday, probably almost the same time as you were posting your comment on Friday.)

Pumpgirl's Hammy is the kind of guy some women hate to love, but just can't seem to resist his adorable charm. It is a tragedy many women will relate to today. Sinead also tragically holds on to that myth of being an equal by not seeming to care, but getting sucked in anyway.
