Fascinating article, read from Crete after 17 years here, with both familiar and unfamiliar foods and different ideas for presentation. I am sure there was far more Greek extra virgin olive oil involved than the article mentioned, although I've never heard of cantaloupe being served with mint and olive oil! I like the idea of "placing a peeled garlic clove in the tzatziki to let it absorb some of its flavor, removing the clove before serving," for a milder tzatziki. The use of lentils for guests is so unusual from a Greek perspective that I was criticized for offering them to a visiting cousin! For more on Greek cooking, cuisine, and especially Greek olive oil, see the unofficially nonprofit, informative site www.greekliquidgold.com.

Thank you for making me utterly starving at night, as I am working late.
Can I order delivery? Guess not.

“There was a simple pleasure in eating the food in front of you, bite after bite, until it was magically gone.“
Seriously? Hard to read such banality.

I loved the article and the photography (thank you!), -- and I could hardly wait to get to the end where I was sure I would find the recipes so I could make the entire dinner. Am I missing something? No recipes?
