Pardon my ignorance but why is a Secretary's memo/approval required to rescind DACA. I thought an Executive Order could be overturned via Executive Order. The commentary makes it sound totally obvious but it isn't to me. Thanks if you can shed some light.

Not sure what the premise of this story is. The best I can assume...just because something is illegal doesn't mean it is wrong. Interesting. I'll use this line the next time a customs agent asks for my passport at a foreign airport.

First time I have heard of a country the size of Texas and with a population greater than California's as "tiny" (at the 16:19 mark).

It has been the job of congress - since 1965 - to sort out the consequences, intended or otherwise, of Hart-Celler. Congress has failed - utterly - for more than half a century. Is that because we are unable to have a rational, objective, dispassionate discussion of the issue? Of the creative pluses that a few talented immigrants bring? Of the role of compassion in policy? Of the narrow interests of corporate America in obtaining cheap labor and in keeping wages low? Of the progressive interest in establishing a client-patron state? Of foreign policies that have destroyed governments and peoples? When is the NYT going to publish a commendable analysis, or at least a reasonably complete list of the factors? When are Americans going to start relating cause and effect?

The current DACA people ARE US Citizens period; and must be given that designation. Any Children born to Officially accepted Women as LEGAL immigrants are also Citizens at birth; others, who are not LEGALLY accepted, and who have children, they and their Childfren are Not. Simple, and there may be a few other issues, but come-on, we are the place that the 'tired and [] poor' still can come to and seek new lives!

One small quibble : Why must they have to talk in the present tense about the past? guess it's supposed to make things feel more immediate but it's just confusing and annoying. Are they talking about what is happening now or what happened in the past?
