Keeping it simple and it still cost half a mil to renovate?

I like it as is but I'm sure that if you added a bit of shag carpet Sammy, Frank and Dean would find it more than adequate for a romp with the dames.

This is lovely.

Lovely and simple, especially the clever kitchen island. I do think dinner parties on the backless benches would be (uncomfortably) short, though. But maybe that's the point ;)

Love it and enjoy Palm Springs for quick getaways! The house is fresh, simple and well laid out. Where is link to Airbnb? Wish you had included in article.
Michael (Los Angeles)
@Stefanie If you know the format Airbnb uses for listing homes (look at the URL for other properties) then this is the room number 22496608. You can't just search Airbnb for that number because that would be too helpful of Airbnb. The property is called Architectural Hideaway. I've been there and it's gorgeous.

Thanks! It will probably book up now that the world knows! I did find it and think it’s perfect to spend 65th with hubby and family. I have never had a bad experience in Palm Springs! FYI For hotel, we love Colony Palms.

How wonderful!

Going through the photos, I couldn't help but thinking "if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail"

@John A What?
Juin (San Francisco)
Bravo! I love the luminosity, the clean simplicity, the creativity, the design of shared space and the little touches elsewhere. I could live in your house. Well done!. Wishing you a happy family life.
Elisabeth
@Juin Thank you!

I love the asymmetrical pool and adjacent patio. It looks like it perfectly belongs there situated among the mature trees. I acknowledge the aesthetic of the plywood in the kitchen but I am not sure I would want those hard edges, especially on the corners and seating. Those beige curtains in the master need to go! I like beige but a wall of heavy-weight solid-beige textile is depressing. Something beige with a textured crosshatch pattern from the 1950s would work.
Clive Wilkinson (Los Angeles)
@K Henderson it is not obvious but the curtains are an extension of the exterior color of the house, which itself was intended to blend into the earth color of the desert. It's hard to experience a house from photos.
