She is so talented and gorgeous. I love reading about her beauty routine.

I heard about Lizzo through Fresh Air. Love her music and who she is! But if one wants to splash water on ones face in the morning, why not use the tap rather than Evian Spray?
Kaitlin (Midwest)
@Shyamela some water, particularly hard water, can cause irritation to people with sensitive skin. Nothing wrong with tap if that's what your skin likes!

Lizzie is funny and has great comedic timing.

I click on anything with Lizzo's name these days!! I wish I had her at 15, 16, 17 but I am thankful to have found her smack dab in the middle of adulthood and shortly after a rough breakup. "Soulmate" is my new anthem. Thanks, girl!

She's important.

I like Lizzo but this piece belongs in Cosmopolitan, not the Times.

#1 her beauty regimen is she’s Lizzo, duh. Nothing else required #2 do you ask the same of male musicians???
Em (Boston)
Lizzo is awesome and beautiful and talented and uplifting. But I don't get the NYT bit about telling us in great detail which cosmetics, unguents, and expensive goo famous people buy and use, that most of us cannot afford or time have time to apply to our faces and bodies. What's the point, NYT? Sometimes it feels like you are shilling for the very industries that tell us we are not enough, while all the while you profess that we *are* enough. It seems more than a bit disingenuous.

If the New York Times did not do this someone else would have. Before the decline of newspapers, there was always a section that covered fashion and beauty. The Times keeps it alive. Thank you Bee.

@Em - It's like the Real Estate section, or Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. It's so we can look and say "I wish" or "how tacky" or "who cares" ... and keep looking.
Kaitlin (Midwest)
@Em Some people who read NYT (me, for example) enjoy reading about makeup and skincare as a hobby. These kinds of articles interest me.

This woman is amazing. What's amazing is her self-love and how she demands that everyone is worthy. Also, she's not a youngling. At 31, she is just NOW hitting the charts. What does that say about tenacity and believing in oneself? Love her!
Natasha (NYC)
lizzo is a treasure! thanks for this peek into her routine.

I love this girl. She is so unabashedly proud of who she is and her music emanates so much joy. Thankful that there has been increasing diversity in music the last few years in more ways than one.
Marci (Phoenix)
Lizzo is so beautiful, but what is really magical about her is how she makes others feel. I was at her show in Portland, and after she spoke so beautifully about loving yourself and believing in yourself, the woman sitting next to me just sobbed uncontrollably - it was like she needed to hear that her entire life, and Lizzo gave that to her. That's true beauty.
Bottleblonde (Redding, CA)
@Marci Thank you for this story! That IS true beauty and makes me love her even more, which I didn't think was possible.

Lizzo is gorgeous!
