The studio was terrific! I had one almost identical but the main living was 10 x 16 and this one was 11x23 and while the rest of the country laughs this is the difference from living with bed and couch or just a pull out couch I would have loved this and the price was awesome. I wonder if this building allows mortgages- this prices seems too good to be true
WhoMe (right here)
@Deirdre It is a walk-up so that helps to lighten the price.

The New York Times has a strange idea of what constitutes "around $450,000".
Jim (NH)
do the co-op"s maintenance fees include taxes?
Minmin (New York)
@Jim—to Jim: yes, coop maintenance typically includes real estate taxes, water, sewage, staffing, and heating (if there’s a shared boiler)
Isaac (NY)
@Jim The maintenance in a co-op almost always includes taxes and usually heat and hot water, and — less often or rarely —AC and/or electric.

Don't have to wonder why people are moving South!

@LB And if they're anything like me, they're chomping at the bit to return to the NE.
Debra (Roselle Park, NJ)
Unlike Who Me, I am not chomping at the bit to return to the NE. I bought a house in Atlanta back in January, thankful that I work from home, and making a slow, eventual transition to my new community. I love the weather, diversity, community, museums, food, and especially my property tax bill: $2900 for the year. Back in NJ, my property taxes are $14k. This move definitely provides me the opportunity to travel more and not worry so much if I'll be able to live off my retirement savings.

@Debra I find the politics of the South, for the most part, stifling even though I live in a "blue" part of town. It impacts friendships and connections for me.

The NYC studio was a super deal in an awesome location.

@james For NYC this is a good one for the price and location.
