I went back to the slide show today and was pleasantly surprised. All the pictures displayed and the captions didn't disappear.Perhaps someone was paying attention for a change.Keep it up.

Good for you. It seems as though the advertisement format is screwing with the slide shows. Its been bad for over several months.. The caption will stay, but no photo. Or photo with a caption that disappears while you're reading it. It's quite maddening. I've complained to customer service, but maybe this might be more productive. For the slideshow standards to slip after so many years of readership, this can't be the new normal.
Love the hole in the wall reviews! I bookmark them for my business trips to NYC. This is definitely a stop for my next trip.

I live around the corner and have gone there several times. Quality is consistent and is better than most places in ktown on 32nd St. You can tell he cares about the food he sells. Portions are about right (no food coma) and appreciate the healthy touches than just carbs and protein. Welcome alternative to Mediterranean focused fast casual places like Naya Express.

These reviews of inexpensive hole-in-the-walls are excellent, much better than the pretensious coverage of expensive restaurants. And as the holes-in-the-wall are much harder to find, the (positive) reviews are more valuable. For expensive restaurants, it perhaps is more important to know where not to go.

That makes one reason I wish I could be in New York.

The slideshow captions appear for a micro-second and then disappear, a problem that has persisted for years. Or, they appear and then are overwritten and masked by add copy. Not every time, but often enough that I've written to Sam S. a half dozen times.
There are, from time-to-time, fixes offered, but why can't this be fixed once and for all? As a subscriber, I'm already underwriting the site, why do I have to do battle with add copy?

@joe Could this be a browser problem? I've never had that experience. I use Chrome.
1
@Jaze I use Chrome and have the same problem, though it only just started recently.
2
@joe I have the same problem.Half the slides don't even appear and of those that do the description disappears after about one second. This has been happening off and on for quite a while.

I was lucky enough to have Sourh Korean colleagues living in NYC turn me on to Handsome Rice a few months ago, & ever since I've been luckier still to enjoy this very passionate chef's very personal take on what he describes as "Korean comfort food." Take it out, take it home & take a taste ride! Now I just hope this tiny fast-casual storefront gem is not overwhelmed by hungry hordes!

I may be ignorant, but I did not find anything specifically Korean in the slides. In Slide 5, chicken with avocado looks nice, but both are tiring. Slide 7, dumplings, holds a good promise of the varieties yet to come. Hurry up, Chef!
$10-15 is inexpensive...

$10-$15 is market rate in MannyHanny these days. Question = amount of portion

The food is delicious, subtly yet richly flavored. All the meats are yummy. I like a variety of their vegetables, providing many layers of flavor.
The service is excellent, and the place is immaculately clean.
I have no connection whatsoever with Handsome Rice other than enjoying their food.
