Mr Mather is blissfully ignorant about the NFL. If he had done his basic homework, he would have known that Lamar J. statistically had an excellent season last year . To take an average team to the playoff as a rookie and in mid season is a formidable achievement . Off season was strong for the Ravens with some excellent additions to the roster plus one of the best coaching staff in the league. I am only hoping that Mr Mather will have the journalistic honesty to admit publicly his mistake when December rolls in...

Lions? Never. Winning costs money.

as much as I hate NE, even the looniest LSD dream Jets will be 2nd (or 1st) place is a joke or statement of delusion. along with the raiders being anything but doormats til they get rid of Chuckie (ie 10 years). Baltimore will drop as they lost their entire LB corps, SS, a primo DL and Lamar Jackson is a one trick pony with no receivers average run game. Cle and Ind will both be 2-3 W's better due to the excellent F/As both signed and if they flip 4Q time of possession (ToP) to even NFL average they will both easily make playoffs. you leave out NFC west. Sea will be hard pressed to remain #1 and the 49'ers are to me THE ascendant team this year. look for them in playoffs at least next year and a SB in next 3. Last, I like Pederson in Phi to smoke Dal, hapless and NYG who are also this close to being bottom dwellers for foreseeable future even with Saquon Barkley and new QB.

Lamar Jackson (Ravens) is a one trick pony that the NFL has figured out. Once he's injured, and it will happen, he'll join RGIII as QB's that should'a been..........

The Jets? That's the funniest thing I've read all week.

The author said nothing about the Ravens losing their top defensive player, CJ Mosley to the Jets. I watched QB Lamar Jackson for the Ravens play last ear and his passing game is not even average. Yes he can run but he does that out of desperation because he can't throw. I do believe the Jets and Sam Darnold will surprise everyone. J-E-T-S JETS!

The Lions? You must be joking.

As a lifelong follower (hard to say "fan" after almost 60 years) of the Lions, there is little to no chance that they will be a winner this year. Or ever.

@Hank Come on Hank, Lions won it all in 1957, a mere 52 years ago. Go Lions!

The Giants 'maybe' go from worst to first? I can't imagine any such scenario. The Giants are poised to compete for the #1 pick in the 2020 draft.

I understand that several teams are planning to use the rules and strategy to win championships. Please don’t believe the pollsters and experts who will wrongly forecast the winners.
