I love you both & your fabulous home, which is so inviting. I noticed you didn’t say anything about your kitchen or dining room so I wanted to let you know that I will be in your neighborhood visiting a friend in early August & want to cook & share a meal with you guys. My food is pretty tasty, my friend’s garden is amazing, our conversation will be engaging & we will all have so much fun! Please tell me you’ll join us!
Robert Flynn Johnson (San Francisco)
You’ll never see them in Archetectual Digest because these two creative people with highly individual taste decorated their abode themselves . Magazines like that only promote interior decorators that do up other people’s houses in their taste paid for by rich often tasteless owners to pass off as their own

My grandmother had barkcloth curtains with a Grandma Moses' design on them. I haven't thought about them for years, but I used to love to look at them. Thanks for the memories!

I absolutely loved this house and the two very creative owners. And the facade is the icing on the cake.
Susan Sheehan (New York)
Absolutely charming and amusing. Great imaginations and taste. Just loved this.

Well, at least some people are having fun, as well they should. I love these two delightful men. They cheer me up. Making their environment reflect themselves.
Miss Pae Attention (Caribbean)
Love these two. What fun it must be to live in this whimsical, eclectic house! Their joy is contagious.

Do they really have to dress like twins? Too precious - and not in a good way.
Meta1 (Michiana, US)
@PrairieFlax Oh dear! What a sour response. Just harmless fun. One of my fondest memories is from Valentines night at the, now closed, Hoedown Bar and Dance Club in Atlanta. My friends and I saw two gray haired gentlemen dressed as Colonel Sanders, identical white suits and red string ties and all, dancing cheek to cheek.

@PrairieFlax "Do they really have to dress like twins? Too precious - and not in a good way." Sour grapes?
Minmin (New York)
Love it! So happy you found each other, those fabulous art works and a place to celebrate them.
Sarah (Berlin)
Very cool! just wondering...why is the camera so unstable?
jennym (amsterdam)
and why are the video house tours always so frenetically paced?! every one of them speeds along in a mad dash—as if we were watching these shorts for their editing bravura and not for the pleasure of touring great spaces. no possibility for the eye to linger anywhere...

Where do you get all those fabulous jackets made?
Tuvw Xyz (Evanston, Illinois)
You said it, Ms. Vu, eccentric is the word.
cheryl (yorktown)
I was half ready to shove this off as too precious, too twee -- but the house tour and it's delightful owners made me grin. They lead with the heart, and a wink.

What marvelous joie de vivre, expressed through their clothing, interiors, and beautiful home! Please invite me to your next garden party...!
Seattle (Seattle)
I get so gun-shy when I make decorating decisions. So naturally, I’m delighted by their guts, humor, and conviction. Way to go for it.
Sharon Kurland (Jamaica VT)
This is beyond wonderful. Living the dream. Wish they had curated my collections . Cary designed my friends LR years ago, a place that always makes me happy to sit in.
Bobbie (Brooklyn)
An enjoyable few minutes spent with these delightful gentleman. I absolutely admire their eclectic sense of style and the outside facade... oh so wonderful ! Sending best wishes.
Cynfluor (NYC)
I hope Wes Anderson hires them to help art direct his next film. Charming, visually stunning, lighthearted, seriously camp-chic. Thank you!
Donald Gardenier
Never having the chutzpah to pull up and gawk, I drove by the house for years and would always smile. Thanks for the tour, gents.
Maureen Welch (Chicago)
I love these guys and their fabulous estate! How cool, I hope they continue to have a happy marriage for many, many more decades!
Julie Morrison (Saugerties, NY)
Gloriously joyful and fun! I can imagine a perfect afternoon would be to sit in an Obama print chair and imagine what fantastic clothes those Carol Channing trunks once held. Thank you to these lovely men and to the New York Times for sharing a glimpse into their marvelous home.
Nils Wetterlind (Stockholm, Sweden)
This little film cheered me up no end as I spend an otherwise miserable eving at an airport hotel in Sapporo. This house and its inhabitants are very much contributing to the gaiety of the nation - literarily and figuratively. Just wonderfully eccentric, silly and glorious! Thank you!
Emily r (Boston)
What a beautiful and fun house. They seem like great gentleman.
Frau Greta (Somewhere in NJ)
Thank you for this intensely frivolous and uplifting piece. Thank God for people with such creative spirit. They make the world a better place.
Flahooley (NYC)
That was awesome.
Jane Hayward (Riverdale)
Wow. He wants people to know that nickname? I guess bad taste never goes out of style.
T (New York)
@Jane Hayward if you watched this video, you must have learned something about lightening up, no?
PJ (USA)
It’s the name he uses in his career as an artist, as a ten second Google search would have informed you. Seriously, lighten up.
E Davis (Massachusetts)
Very cool and unique. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
bwc (Chicago)
thanks for the fun - we need it.
T (New York)
Oh yeah? Well, most of MY furniture was once owned by one of the richest men in Sweden. Ba dum bum. But seriously, this tour and these guys are fabulous. We need more whimsy.
Jean (Anjou)
Hm-m.
Gmuntin (San Rafael)
I appreciate the eccentricity and their joy in such unusual collections, such as people standing in front of Mr. Vernon. The bedroom though was a welcome relief from all the stuff, which as much as I found it interesting, was also exhausting. It just reminds me that no matter how many things you get, it's never enough.
Kathy dePasquale (Walpole, NH)
Alive with bliss !!!
