My issue with the Taylor Swift video has nothing to do with LGBTQ issues, but with the incredibly patronizing and condescending way she depicts the group of anti-LGBTQ protesters (missing teeth, in rags as compared to her and her consort's "fabulous" get-ups, etc.). Poverty is not a joke. Yes, it often coincides with bigotry. But rubbing people's faces in their economic hardship while you strut around singing about how beautiful and rich you are is gross, no matter how hateful the other side can be.

Racial and partisan hatred, spiced with lies, put Trump in the White House. Working his base with this toxic mix was his winning formula - he will not change. He is an autocratic demagogue. Democrats need to sort things out quickly and form a tight, highly motivated movement to remove this cancer from our soul.

"It’s like someone dropping a carton of eggs, and asking if they can hold your baby.” Love this!

Funny...Colbert fancies himself a comedian...go figure...: P

@Ed Oh Ed, he is brilliant. Too bad you can't see that. But to each his own.

He is a rock star. And you’re no political expert. You forge that you are merely a comedian who is not longer funny

@nessa Now, now, nessa; the pumpkin is not a rock star, he is not really a star at all, since that requires having a talent, and his appears to be nothing more than a carnival barker's ability. Steven Colbert, on the other hand, continues to be a treasure.

@nessa Hahahahahahahahahaha!!! The leader of the free world is a rock star. Yikes!!! "We don't need no education . . ." -- Pink Floyd

@questionaire No, the pumpkin is a star with a talent. Anyone who can con that many people out of money and their vote qualifies as a Barnum in training.

Dictators love rallies.Trump loves rallies. Draw your own conclusions.

People lining up for a trump pep rally, how sick is that America.

Stephen Colbert should be more careful. Don't get me wrong. I love the guy. I have laughed longer and harder over his monologues than--than I don't know what. But there's a difference between justly skewering our President-- --and simply mocking him. A difference I don't think is lost on millions of American TV viewers. When he nails Mr. Trump on some egregious lie or falsehood or inaccuracy or inconsistency-- --and there have been so many, I've lost count-- --MORE POWER TO HIM! You GO, Steve! But all the laughter and ridicule directed at Mr. Trump's Florida performance-- --it's wide of the mark, Stave. It really is. He thinks (you tell us) he's a ROCK STAR. (Followed by an imitation of a "rock star" thrumming away on a guitar.) No he doesn't. He thinks he's Donald J. Trump. And he's right. Dead right. He thinks thousands--or millions--of Floridians worship the ground he walks on. He's right. They do. They lined up for two days (you tell us) just to get INTO this gigantic Trump rally. Because (you tell us) they presumably had no jobs to go to. No. They probably DID have jobs. They took time off. And Steve-- --I love you,man-- --but that kind of loyalty is SCARY. And all the jokes on all the nighttime TV in the world-- --are not gonna make Mr. Donald J. Trump go away. Not him. Not the millions of Americans that worship the ground he walks on. Good night, all. I'm going to bed. To sleep-- --if I can.

Sad but true... that trump's foolish fans continue believing his near constant LIES... now totaling over 10,750 since taking office* (according to Washington Post's FACT Checker). * no doubt, trump would be up into hundreds of thousands? Millions? of Lies had his life long lying liar mentality been kept tabs and tally on. Startling when you think about the duration of his con man act and fraudulent activities. PS we can all curse the **creators/producers of "The Apprentice" and NBC for giving trump his platform while they all made millions. A national disgrace. "Thanks" especially go to Mark Burnett **and whomever led NBC then. They shall ALL go down in infamy.

What a great video! I wish the opponents had been less cartoonish, but the imagery reminded me of the lighter side of "This is America". She's asking for a space to talk (calm), not oppressing anyone. Oddly, the celebration wasn't the haters, but the protesters were....
