Hungary is doing that for Orban too. Ditto for Putin’s Russia.

You give us 22 minutes, we'll give you the news, oh, and 2 minutes of Trump shouting.
MB (MD)
Sounds like Chávez’s Sunday “Hello President” program.

This is how Hungary has gradually become a one-party state. The ruling party gradually took over all the private media.
Quite Contrary (Philly)
How about that - a media stunt man giving a big platform to another media stunt man. It might shake loose a few bucks for the panhandle, or not. Whether the distance between rhetoric and reality will shake any of the die-hard right wingers down there loose from their delusions to do the right thing in the voting booth is unlikely. It hasn't so far.

Hey, anything for business, I suppose. Trump blocks funding for Puerto Rico and messes up everything he touches -- but if it sells my station, it's okay.
Jeffrey Tierney (Tampa, FL)
Well, since I live down here in FL I can tell you the Republican controlled state government has completely forgotten them. Our senators and representatives? Forget that. They know the Panhandle will go Republican no matter what their party does to them so why waste money and time. Yes the part of small government party is the first to start crying like a baby to the feds as soon as things go awry.

Democrats have no guts to go after Trump. Pelosi is weak and powerless.
Topher S (St. Louis, MO)
I think you're underestimating Pelosi. There's a reason she's often referred to as the most effective Speaker in history. She understands the lay of the land in regard to how far she can push things like impeachment. She realizes that voters in general - even Democrats and especially the much needed Independents - aren't behind impeachment. From the Democratic pols themselves, constituents ask their elected officials about jobs and healthcare, not impeachment. She's weighing all things against defending and gaining seats in 2020. Also, Pelosi remembers how Bill Clinton came out of his impeachment mess more popular and seen in a sympathetic light. She's focused on the long game, but I have no doubt that if more Republicans come out against Trump or he crosses what she feels is a red line she'll act.

@Beto Buddy Does that make you feel empowered? Is that why you like Trump...he is a bully boy who disgusts thoughtful fair people, but makes the thugs of the world feel great...Each day I want to throw up when I read his latest stunt or that of one of his avid supporters.
JHM (UK)
@Topher S I disagree...each day when he bullies people like his now loud calls for investigations of his opponents while he squeals about the investigations he is or has been the subject of, is one more day that I feel sickened by this tyrant, loved by the bullies of much of the South of the US.

Let’s see when the panhandle actually gets their financial aid. Funny.

A sure cure for insomnia, if the verbiage does not upset the stomach.

I believe Rogatinsky will come to regret his decision. As a radio station owner, his business acumen appears shaky already.

“If Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders wants to come to the Panhandle and come to Panama City and do a rally, man, I’ll put them on the same day,” Mr. Rogatinsky said. They shouldn't have to do a rally, and their snippets should run for as long as Trump's run. In keeping with the Fairness Doctrine, doesn't Mr. Rogatinsky owe the same amount of time to each of the 23 Democratic candidates seeking their party's nomination, as well as Trump's Republican challenger William Weld? By my calculation, 2 minutes apiece for 24 candidates is a full 48 minutes out of each hour. Add in the 2 minutes Trump already gets and Rogatinsky will have 10 minutes per hour for actual programming. Come on, candidates, demand your rightful share of airtime.
Quite Contrary (Philly)
@D Price The Fairness Doctrine went down the drain a while ago, unfortunately.
Cheryl Wooley (LA)
That fairness doctrine might have been a good idea after all. Thanks Reagan.

If Rogatinsky is the “businessman” he claims to be, let’s see how well he handles the onslaught of complaints I trust he will receive. Likewise, I believe his stance towards the POTUS demonstrates a failure to understand that Puerto Ricans are US citizens.

A Trumpaganda station, quelle surprise. Along with the State Fox propaganda teevee. A desperate and pitiful situation. This would-be reality "star" needs to Go Away. And the voters are going to make that happen.
Deirdre (New Jersey)
Like the lady said, “Trump is supposed to be the president of all the people” but he’s not.
