For starters I know nothing about fashion so looking at all of these looks, I had no idea what was going on. Famous people have some crazy eccentric style. But. One look that stood out to me was Amber Valletta’s outfit. In simple words she looked like a bro green puff ball, and I absolutely loved it. Most of the other outfits were either confusing or predictable, but hers made me laugh and say “ok why does this look good on her?” WHO COULD PULL THAT OFF?? She did. It was simple, not much to the design, but it was out there. Like I mentioned before it made me laugh. Not in a “I’m making fun of it” way but in a “that’s really good” kinda way. You may think I’m weird for liking such an odd fashion choice, but her dress... it just spoke to me.

This year I was most impressed by the Met Gala. All throughout Monday night my social media was flooded with pictures and videos of Hollywood A-Lister's walking the Met carpet. The idea of "Camp" felt perfect for an event like this. Extravagant, bold, and over the top looks are always expected at the Met, but this year was taken to a whole new level. "Camp" encouraged free expression and representation of everyone through feathers, glitter, headpieces, crazy length dress trains, and so much more. One of my personal favorite looks was Janelle Monáe’s, designed by Christian Siriano. I loved the creativity of this dress, Monáe said it was inspired by Picasso, and the artistic element of the dress was awe-inspiring. The dress had a moving, blinking eye, and gorgeous black, hot pink, and white complementary fabrics. The choker and gloves gave the outfit a sense of classiness and the not one, not two, but four hat headpieces gave the finished look a playful vibe. I think Monáe’s dress really fulfilled Anna Wintour's expectations of "Camp" and is one that will be remembered as one of the most exquisite Met Gala outfits.

I think the most interesting thing from these pictures of everyone is how creative everybody got, especially Elle Fanning with her outfit that she pulled off amazingly, and Zendaya, with her modern spin on Disney’s Cinderella. Billy Porter dressed in what looked like a complete interpretation of a pharaoh adorned in gold. When talking about his outfit, he said, “They showed me this and I said, ‘Yes. I want wings so I can fly.’”

My social media was flooded with pictures of the Met Gala, attended by all sorts of Hollywood stars this Monday. The one that caught my attention the most was Zendaya’s look. Everywhere I scrolled, my feed was spammed with her beautiful reenactment of Cinderella. Growing up, Cinderella was my least favorite Disney princess because she had the stereotypical look “of beauty definement” some girls dreamed of possessing. Blonde hair blue eyes, perfect skin and a skinny structure. I always admired people that have all sorts of different looks because it shows the unique sights of what beauty is, in this world. The pictures illustrated in this NYT Article, depicts Zendaya dressing up as Cinderella. Her dress lights up, with smoke coming out from below it. I LOVED this look. She’s showing how individuals from all different looks, can be a Cinderella. You don’t need blonde hair, blue eyes. and a skinny body to be Cinderella. Be your own version of it.

I saw many photographs of famous celebrities at the Met Gala this weekend. Many of their designs I thought were insane, but absolutely gorgeous and extravagant. For instance, I really enjoyed Kylie and Kendall Jenner’s outfits, and I loved Kim’s dress. Kendall Jenner was my favorite out of the sisters, however, because she is the most natural sister and she was wearing a dress really fit for HER. She really looked like she was wearing the dress, not like the dress wore her. Unlike other people who looked consumed by their outfit, Kendall and her confidence definitely stood out to me. Also, Lady Gaga’s magenta dress were absolutely to die for! Jourdan Dunn’s rose-red flower petal dress was so elegant and beautiful. In general, a lot of these outfits were very “haute-couture” and they were very out of this world. One of my favorites was also Priyanka Chopra in her dior haute couture cream dress. It was so modern and has been really in style on the catwalk recently. I also LOVED Gemma Chan’s rhinestone dress. It was probably something I would see in my dreams. That dress really was the most ME and the most “red carpet glam." If I went to the Met Gala, I most likely would have worn something like one of these dresses. They are the most “camp-glam” and they are all most like my style.

Personally, I think that this was my favorite Met Gala ever. I loved the theme because it let everyone take their outfit to crazy new levels which is what "camp" is all about. I loved that Lady Gaga did four different looks but still kept it cohesive and stayed perfect to the theme. Even Katy Perry, dressed as a chandelier, was one of my personal favorites because I thought that it was so funny. The theme fits both of their personalities so perfectly, so I knew that they would nail it, and they did not disappoint. I also loved Darren Criss' look. I loved how he went so androgynous, which seemed to be a theme throughout the night, and I really enjoyed all of those looks. I loved how designers weren't afraid to really embrace the "camp" theme, and everyone who was there seemed to be so happy in their campy outfits because they are the pure essence of fun. The Gala is always extravagant, but with this theme it let people embrace that even more, and I felt like I saw such a wide variety of looks on the runway, which made me extremely happy. I haven't been able to stop talking about my favorite looks, and I am so excited for what next year's is going to look like, and if it can live up to 2019's Met Gala.

I enjoy the Met Gala because it is a change for me steal a glance into a scene that I am otherwise completely oblivious to. I know that the fashion world is influential, lucrative, and artistic, but nothing specific. My favorite outfit was Zendaya’s Cinderella dress. I liked how well-thought-out the act was. The pumpkin-carriage handbag and lost slipper completed the act. Each invitee has the change to make their own statement due to the amount of publicity that goes into the event, and given the amount of loaded or pointed outfits there were, I love how Zendaya chose something fun and whimsical and ran with it.

Cinderella at the Met Gala? Of course! Out of all of the gala's attendees, I absolutely loved Zendaya's Tommy Hilfiger dress. She brings a childish, fairytale side to a formal, extravagant event. Out of everyone, I think she was the most creative with her fairy godmother magically changing her dress to a glittery gown and leaving her glass slipper on the red carpet. I can't even imagine all the time and effort put into the gorgeously made gown. She is the perfect person to rock this gown, having started her career with Disney and since then, starring in several of their movies. Her career started with the "Cinderella makers" and I thought it was very clever to bring that onto the Met Gala carpet.

The day after the Met Gala, I looked through my Snapchat at stunning outfits of the attendees. My personal favourite dress did not appear in the slideshow. Lilly Singh wore a vibrant violet, fuschia, and magenta dress made by Moschino. Lady Gaga’s multiple dresses that were shed on the red carpet were stunning as well. Katy Perry’s outfits were quite interesting. Her red carpet look, a chandelier, was quite inventive, and her after party dress was humorous, it was a hamburger. Cardi B’s dress was an as true statement. Not only was it extravagant, but it also complemented her personality and music. YouTube icon James Charles’ outfit did not make it in the slideshow as well. The Alexander Wang safety pin shirt proved to be quite controversial. Another favourite look of the night was Kendall Jenner’s. Not to body shame or throw shade, but she is my favourite in the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Her dress accented her natural body type perfectly, and the shade of orange greatly partnered with her skin tone. All in all, the looks that were presented at the Met Gala were stunning.

When I was younger, I was obsessed with the fashion designer Alexander McQueen. He is known for his "out there" outfits and his insane patterns. When I saw the dresses and looks for this years "camp" theme, I about died. Every single outfit was giving me flashbacks to a book I had in elementary school of all his most famous pieces. McQueen died a while ago, but I strongly believe he inspired many of the designers at the Met Gala this year. My favorite quote from him is, "I find beauty in the grotesque, like most artists." He is truly inspirational and his designs will live on forever

@Molly Honestly, I also LIVE for his designs, as they are gorgeous and so out of this world. They are crazy, but also classy, and they are just overall to die for.
