Might I also mention the amazing Ann Reinking? I’ve seen her perform and have been knocked out, and her performance in “All That Jazz” was Oscar worthy.

I am looking forward to seeing this series. My only concern is the "flash back and flash forward". That was so annoying and confusing in "Versace".

Some phenomena don't bear being looked upon too closely.

Read the book, "Fosse" by Sam Wasson. It tells a simple story, without pity and without excuses, about a complex man who loved and hated his art. Who loved and hated himself and brought a lot of pain along with his unforgettable style and razzle dazzle. To himself as much, if not more than to others. I'll give you my copy. It's not the sort of book you read more than once...

@cynthia I'm reading it now. The length is formidable, but a gem of a book - giving all the nitty-gritty.

I'm not sure why one can say that Verdon's name has not endured—she is still a Broadway legend, anyone who knows anything about Broadway musical history knows her name.

will it be much different than "All That Jazz" ?

Are we looking for perfect in our artists? My family recognized some time ago that the genius gene is connected to the crazy gene. Bare that in mind when looking for heroes.

In 1986, I saw Fosse and Verdon several times at Charlies, a theater restaurant on 45th street, just down the block from the Minskoff Theater, where the revival of "Sweet Charity was in previews. That Fosse died the following year is not a surprise. That he was only 60 years old is shocking to me now. In my early twenties at the time, he appeared to be a sickly man in his early eighties. I cannot imagine how he could have possibly directed this amazing revival, which introduced the world to Bebe Neuworth, without Verdon's help. This article and Maureen Dowd's recent profile on Sam Rockwell attempt to search out the reason Fosse treated women so horribly. Whatever the reasons, if they exist, there is no excuse for his treating women the way he did. His demons certainly caused his early demise.

@Joseph McGrann He was probably a misogynist.

Strange article. It says it's about Fosse and Verdon, yet hardly talks about Verdon?

@Stuart Cooke That is just what I thought. It is still about the man.
