2020 Candidates Demand Full and Immediate Release of Mueller Report

The reason that corporate sponsors are encouraging all their Democratic supporters to run for President is that when you subtract all the home-state delegate votes they will drain away from Sanders, he will not be able to win on the first ballot. And since very wealthy donors own the convention votes after that, someone as fake as Biden could easily become the nominee, and then likely lose the election for the same reasons as Clinton did. This is all OK with the ultra-rich because they prefer a very dangerous clown like Trump in the White House to a “socialist” like Sanders. You know: “Better dead than red.”
carl bumba (mo-ozarks)
Hasn't Trump's been saying this all along? We're witnessing a rare display of unity, so let the American people see it! Though even the slightest transgression can be used unfairly today as political ammunition, I think we should see if Democrats have learned anything - or if they seize reflexively on whatever they can glean from it. This may very well reveal which democrats are political opportunists and which ones really want to help those that are struggling most in the country (many of whom voted for Trump).
Bernard Devlin (New York)
As Nixon himself said: “people have got to know whether or not their president is a crook.”
Azalea Lover (Northwest Georgia)
"Russian interference" in the 2016 election is a common thread in these comments. I took the accusation of Russian interference in the months leading up to the 11/2016 election seriously. Then I looked at the money spent by Russians on Facebook: Clinton + Trump spent 1760 times as much: "Russian information troll farm the Internet Research Agency (IRA) spent just 0.05 percent as much on Facebook ads as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump’s campaigns combined in the run-up to the 2016 U.S. presidential election, yet still reached a massive audience. "While there might have been other Russian disinformation groups, the IRA spent $46,000 on pre-election day Facebook ads compared to $81 million spent by Clinton and Trump together, discluding political action committees who could have spent even more than that on the campaigns’ behalf. "Facebook general counsel Colin Stretch revealed these figures today during the Senate Intelligence Committee’s hearing with Facebook, Twitter and Google about Russian election interference. "Without counting PACs, the top campaigns spent 1,760X more on election ads than one group of Russian meddlers puts the situation into context. The IRA ad buy was small by comparison. This aligns with Stretch’s main talking point that Russian propaganda content was a tiny fraction of the content and ads seen on Facebook." https://techcrunch.com/2017/11/01/russian-facebook-ad-spend/ Give if up: There is no 'there' there.

Why is this story leading with the male candidates, and most particularly with Mr. O'Rourke?
J Holt (NY)
More grandstanding by the Democrats who have nothing else to other the American public.
SMB (Savannah)
Once upon a time, a Democratic president went through impeachment proceedings only because he claimed, "I did not have sex with that woman." Moral standards were high for the president although five or more or his persecutors were engaged in affairs and sex scandals of their own. Once upon a time, someone who lied more than 9,000 times (documented) in a little over two years as president, who paid hush money to cover up affairs, whose family and campaign had more than 100 secret contacts with Russia (which is pointing almost 1,500 nuclear missiles at us), who committed fraud, hid his tax returns, and a host of other corrupt enterprises would not have been worshipped by cultists who falsely considered themselves Christian. Once upon a time, there were laws against nepotism and against emoluments profits while in office and for 3 co-equal branches of government. In their tweet universe and Fox House of Worship, the familiar cadences of "Witch Hunt!", "Lock Her Up!" "Mexico will Pay for The Wall!", and that beloved old favorite hymn, "No Collusion!" echo across the land. Once upon a time only a few years ago in a country not far away, there was a fairly elected president who had no indictments in his administration and no scandal and no corruption and who was respected around the world. He sang "Anazing Grace" at a memorial for slain church people.
Mary Wilson (Charlotte)
Has this NYTimes forum suddenly become the Fox News Fan Club with all the demeaning comments about liberals and Democrats? Of course, The Mueller Report is worthy of the hype. This is about the integrity of our democracy against interference by a foreign government and that the very president of the US could be involved in it—a little more important than lying about a sexual dalliance! And, yes, of course, the report needs to be made public. This is America. We are a free people whose leaders must answer to us. We have paid for it with our tax dollars. Keeping the report confidential will increase conspiratorial theories. Releasing all of it will give this nation some much needed closure whether or not it contains bombshells or not.
Jay (Cleveland)
Does anyone remember the scathing report Rod Rosenstein submitted justifying firing Comey? Whether that was Trump’s reason or not, it was compelling. Comey slimed Clinton unfairly, disregarding his role as Director of the FBI. Now, instead of practicing the norms of the DOJ, Democrats want to continue to destroy them. 2 wrongs do not make a right. Comey leaked confidential information intentionally to get a Special Prosecutor assigned. He was rewarded for his bad acts. Now, instead of accepting the findings, Democrats want more. It is obvious nothing short of an impeachable offense will satisfy them. Norms be damned.
IntheFray (Sarasota, Fl.)
You are utterly tone deaf and out of touch with the mood of the country if you don't realize that the public has been waiting for two years for the release of this report. That there are even considerations of withholding it is an outrage. The Congress and this vulgar president have put the American people through hell with all this corruption, criminality, double dipping, and amoral conduct over this entire period. The government shut down typifies how little these elected officials care about what happens to the American people. Treating us like children they want to entertain possible ways of hiding the report and telling us we are not mature and adult enough to handle it. The fact is the juvenile behavior is not on the part of the public. The people are adults who can handle this report and damn well expect the receipt of that report is the least they can do for putting us through all the nonsense they have. No excuses, no flim flam, no double talk, no hypocrisy, none of your usual antics. Simply release the report immediately and we the people will judge for ourselves. Anything less would be an affront to democracy. The public has been waiting and deserves the report. It's our lives you've degraded with the shameful conduct of the president and his henchman in the lowest partisan form the Congress has quite possibly ever sunk to. Full unedited report to the people. Nothing else will do.
Gwe (Ny)
Nothing but the full release of every single word will clear the President. Nothing. So press on, the country is united in one thing only: release the damn report.
DC (Philadelphia)
Please, do America a favor and have a select group of bi-partisans in Congress read it to then decide what can and cannot be released to the public. I just have to believe that over 22 months they dealt with some very sensitive material that has no business being in the public eye. I get the desire for America to know what was found but let's try and use some common sense about it instead of just looking for political opportunities.
SLBvt (Vt)
Americans have the right to know why Trump was not indicted by Mueller: is it because 1) there was no evidence connecting Trump to Russian interference in the election, or 2) there was evidence but not enough to indict and convict, or 3) there was no indictment because of the so-called "policy" of not indicting a sitting President. Finally, what about all the evidence of obstruction? (see above). Each of these are meaningful conclusions, and Americans deserve to know.
GWB (San Antonio)
The Social Democrats are a joke. They are switching from a defense of an independent Mueller investigation to potentially casting the Mueller report as biased and incomplete. Schiff and Naylor have telegraphed this change in tact for weeks. Somehow they seemed to know no new indictments would be reccommended. Was someone leaking information to them? Maybe they should be investigated.
Templer (Glen Cove, NY)
If this will be the democrats agenda for 2020, than I will look somewhere else. This country has many issues to discuss and do. We have a healthcare problem to fix, major infrastructure, huge trade deficit, and twenty three "trillion" in national debt congress is hiding under the carpet.
stewart bolinger (westport, ct)
Where are the candidates' promises to issue every chapter, line, and verse upon entering the oval office? I bet not one makes such a promise. What we'll get is posturing. How easy! "Day one I shall hand out copies of the report myself!" Not a Democrat will commit to real action. No No No Let's not be real. Don't offer the voters a concrete achievable offer of executive action.
Gennady (Rhinebeck)
Of course they demand an immediate release. What else do they have to talk about in their campaign? Nothing.
sdw (Cleveland)
Democratic presidential aspirants, as well as Democrats serving in the Senate and House, must be bold and honest in demanding that the Mueller report be placed in front of the American people. That boldness and honesty will be seen by all Americans in sharp contrast to the evasiveness and stony silence of Republican politicians regarding the misconduct, bizarre words and selfish focus of Donald Trump.
Doris L (Tupelo, Mississippi)
Whether the report finds Trump culpable or not, it’s essential we learn all of the nefarious deals and scandals he is part of, and the reason is simple and very basic. Each week Trump inflicts more damage to the global environment thru his misguided policies and deals he makes with coal companies. Those of us who enjoying breathing clean air, drinking clean water and wish to reverse the effects of Climate Change, need whatever information we can obtain to remove Trump & his cohorts from office. I work in a trauma center and our focus is saving lives. We don't have time to ask what caused the accident, only to save lives. In this instance, the lives we save by removing Trump from office are our own. Waiting two years for this situation to change is insane because, like a trauma center, the longer it takes to supply remedy, the less likely the patient will survive.
Brian (Balt)
Please read Peggy Noonan’s editorial in today’s WSJ ‘Congress’ Mean Girls are Trump’s Offspring’. It describes how AOC and Omar use the same tactics as Trump. Add to that candidates such as Booker that demand the immediate and full release. There is a process and protocol that should and must be followed all backed by law. Do they want to disclose the grand jury testimony contained in the report that is protected by a higher standard. Do they want to disclose confidential sources from the FBI and other intelligence services. The Watergate report was only released to Congress. What standard needs to be met to exceed this threshold. These are some of the real questions I would like any presidential candidate to take a moment, think about, and provide a complete answer. Anything short of this puts such candidate in the category of a Trump Offspring.
John (New Jersey)
I would love to head a democratic candidates sensible ideas for my vote. However, I take a HUGE deduction every time I hear pandering to the extreme. That includes all the anti-Trump bits. All the anti-conservative bits. All the rich-are-bad bits. All the "they are rasists" bits. On and on. If you want my vote then you better be about one country, accepting diversity of BOTH thought and gender/race/religion/culture/etc. If any think I (and millions like me) will vote for a candidate that spews hatred against my fellow Americans, they are sadly mistaken. If the Americans like me who can agree to disagree and move on to everything we DO agree on can do it, then the candidate for president can too. And if they don't, show them the door.
FritzTOF (ny)
Mueller is, perhaps, placing the real problem on the table for us all -- as a nation -- to solve. Kudos to him if that is the case. That said, we must consider this: Trump may actually be a madman who is so angry at the world that he would allow it to fall into chaos. People of Earth, ignore this possibility at your own peril!
Amanda Jones (Chicago)
DC in general, but especially the Trump White House, has demonstrated that almost nothing is secret---somehow parts of this report or the entire report will get out there---Putin probably has a copy as we speak.
Azalea Lover (Northwest Georgia)
@Amanda Jones I wish writers wouldn't use the word "probably" about serious topics. Unless you are in junior high, "probably" doesn't fit.
TrueNorth60 (Toronto)
What is this demand for immediate release about? I get that they want it released and don't want to wait weeks or months, but what is it with the coordinated "immediate"? There should be some regard for proper process and respect for the risks of collateral damage to the innocent and institutions. It is shocking to watch the people responsible, entrusted, with running the country be so willing to damage institutions for the sake of political advantage. They are like feeding piranha or frenzied sharks. Some (all, with the exception of Tulsi Gabbard) of the Democrats running to be the nominee seem to be competing to see whose request will be seen as putting the most Trump and Republican blood in the water with no regard for current or future consequences. They are as bad as the guy they hate.
TED338 (Sarasota)
Booker's tweet leads to his fund raising site, trying to turn "no more indictments" into money. Just more Trump Bad...vote for me.
Resident (CT)
Since there are no new indictments or charges in the report, Democrats want to find some words and sentences here and there in the entire report to fabricate them. NOTHING BURGER.
A Common Man (Main Street USA)
The president has said, let it all come out. So it will all come out. So, all this article does is using a large prominent typeset for the heading, simply acts as a PR for all Democratic candidates. He said this, she said that. Of course, they will say this or that. What news are we reading here. Harris, Booker, Warren, Gillenbrand, Klobucher, Sanders all of them are elected officers. They should use the power if their office to bring the report to light. I will say this again, don't make a bully look like a victim by your behavior. Last 24 months have been enough for the country to figure out the true colors of this president and his enabler the Rotten Republican Party. Every action or statement by Democrats must be strategic with a goal in mind. And the goal should be bringing all three branches under Democrats. Think about Ruth Badee Ginsberg. Think .... don't just tweet or bleat.
kwb (Cumming, GA)
Useless posturing. Anything not released by Barr that is critical of Trump will be leaked. The converse is also true.
Andrew (New York)
The democrats are falling all over themselves to get out in front of this report. It’s really as pathetic as the 2012 GOP candidates and how they would rush to put-crazy one another. The democrats should instead use what is already publicly available to hold hearings to get the full story of an unsavory election. I don’t think there is any doubt that while members of the Trump campaign probably did not actively work with Russia to influence the election - aside from those already indicted - they were, and are, not smart enough to realize that they were being used. And the sad and scary thing is that they (Trump kids, Kushner, Miller, Conway, etc...) don’t care.
rp cutler (westport, ct)
Let's see what Mueller has to say. But we know report is not recommending any indictments.
TL (CT)
The Democrats jump right out there with demands that are impossible to meet. With the necessary redaction of classified and grand jury information, plus executive privilege, there may not be much to release anyway, but they will demand it, just to fund raise and spend another two years dragging America through the mud with false accusations. If these candidates are so interested in the truth, they could get to the bottom of how and why these investigations were started. Last I checked, Carter Page is a free man and there was no conspiracy or collusion, yet former Obama and Clinton officials have spent the last two and a half years on a full court press using the media to push forth these groundless accusations. Comey, McCabe, Stzrok, Page and Ohr lied and leaked, Clapper lied to Congress and Brennan lies on TV every day. Most of the other Obama and Clinton officials now get pay checks from MSNBC and CNN to bad mouth the President and bait the liberal left with maybe's, if's and possibly's. Republicans need to grow a spine and push back against these groundless allegations, now that the Mueller probe has failed to bring any charges on the central claims of collusion and obstruction. Liberals are still saying - what about this meeting, or this email, like Mueller didn't spend 675 days going through all of that - and guess what not Trump, Trump Jr., Ivanka, Manafort, Gates, Flynn, or anybody else conspired with the Russians.
carl bumba (mo-ozarks)
Here's a great opportunity to act adult.
Dan (All Over The U.S.)
Polls show that Democrats, Independents, and Republicans want the findings released. But when Democrats push for this to be done "immediately" some of the effect of the report will be lost....to Trump's gain. There will likely be many gray area findings. How those are interpreted will be a Rorschach test. And whether they were "demanded" by Democrats will be part of the context for how those gray area findings are interpreted. Best to lay back and let the results speak for themselves. It will be a louder "speak."
Joe Runciter (Santa Fe, NM)
We already know that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. That is not in dispute. We already know that persons working with the president were in contact with the Russians. I suppose the only question remaining is, "Does Mueller not include new indictments because a sitting president cannot be indicted, or because Trump has managed to stay one step removed from provable criminal activity relative to the scope of this particular investigation?" That is an interesting question. But only the 2020 election can change the situation in any case.
rp cutler (westport, ct)
@Joe Runciter. No, we do not 'know' that Russia had any influence on the outcome of the 2016 election. Mitt Romney warned us about Russia in 2012...the left scoffed at him.
Azalea Lover (Northwest Georgia)
@Joe Runciter I took the accusation of Russian interference in the months leading up to the 11/2016 election seriously. Then I looked at the money spent by Russians on Facebook: Clinton + Trump spent 1760 times as much: "Russian information troll farm the Internet Research Agency spent just 0.05 percent as much on Facebook ads as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump’s campaigns combined in the run-up to the 2016 U.S. presidential election, yet still reached a massive audience. Give it up and relax.
DREU (Bestcity)
For all the candidates out there: please please continue with your grass-root outreach and talk about people’s day to day issues. The report will be there later and at this point it doesn’t matter. What matters are the horrible policies of this administration like protections to clean water, social justice, healthcare, infrastructure, innovation in science and technology...vaccines. Focusing on this report will only get us distracted while the base will do anything to keep this president another term.
carl bumba (mo-ozarks)
@DREU Good advice. But besides "continuing" their grass-roots activities they need to DISCONTINUE attacking Trump about Russia and the legitimacy of his election. They've been acting like "birthers" here and need to admit it, rather than segue into something else.
mary (connecticut)
In a perfect world, the report will disclose the fact that djt and posse are guilty of collusion in the 2016 elections. Mr. Mueller will have connected all dots with a direct hit on djt. The world is a far stretch from perfect, and djt has mastered the art of remaining once or twice removed from all actions he executes. He will take the findings as a victory lap confirming his rhetoric of a 'witch hunt.' The battle in the 2020 elections to take back The People's House is of historical importance. If the GOP and djt win, we will find ourselves still living under the rule of the djt modern monarchy.
Azalea Lover (Northwest Georgia)
Not sure you understand the law very well. In a perfect world, the law functions just as it has done in this investigation. The law stands for a certain standard: if that standard is not met, there is no indictment. Our leaders said they had faith in Mr. Mueller and trust in his integrity. There were no indications that Mr. Mueller would betray that trust. Those among us who function with reason - not drama - can move on to day-to-day issues. When Speaker Pelosi announced the House would not move to impeach President Trump, intelligent people knew the announcement meant there was no impeachable offense in Mr. Mueller's report. Anyone who thinks the decision by the Democratic leaders of the House to make that announcement was anything other a 'settle down, folks, there's nothing impeachable there' is not using critical thinking. Speaker Pelosi was taking the first step to let people prepare to hear that the investigation is over, the summaries are being written, and there's nothing to impeach. This flock of Democratic presidential candidates is continuing the drama. This is good, because it gives us better views of them. What are they made of? What analytical skills do they possess? What do they offer the country now? Will they continue with drama or will they offer sensible solutions to some of the problems our country faces? Watch them carefully - and weed out the Drama Queens and Kings. The best presidents conduct business without drama.
Ken calvey (Huntington Beach ca)
The Democrats are so weak, their attitude of waiting for the report, and hoping for it's release, was a colossal waste of time. That They think a Trump appointment is going to release the report is ludicrous. No new indictments, who cares anyway.
John (Houston)
@Ken calvey .Let's see a Mueller Report on each and every candidate BEFORE elections.
Nat Balch (Durham, NH)
@Ken calvey: Actually, the Democrats show surprising spine (as compared with the Republicans and Trump). What's important is that the country has been paralyzed, and that this work is done. I'm sure there's more to come; meanwhile, Trump has to start governing. Given the lack of true leadership so far, I'm not hopeful.
Daniel Salazar (Naples FL)
So many more important issues the country is facing. Every one of them declared they supported Robert Mueller. He has made his convictions and indictments. He also has referred other cases to appropriate justice department divisions. Review the report, and then take some action if needed. Justice has been served. Trump just removed sanctions on N Korea and the bond rate inversion occurred last week. The Midwest is flooded. Venezuela still a mess and negotiations with the Taliban at a critical stage. All much more important than grandstanding about the Mueller investigation.
jammer (los angeles)
And let’s not forget Mozambique. Get to work official Washington and do the hard stuff and not just the fun stuff.
liwop (anywhere usa)
Of course they are an want the report immediately released. This way they can quickly change their narrative and change their past criticisms. Need To change their rhetoric so the liberal base will forget their past rantings.
Corbin (Minneapolis)
@Lilwop Your description of Trump’s strategy, as applied to democrats is pretty laughable.
Josh (Tokyo)
Whether the report is damaging or not to Mr. Trump’s integrity (or his electability), he survives this episode. Because (1) Such integrity does not exist (a thing that does not exist can’t be damaged); and (2) His base keeps voting for a person who makes them high through realty shows of thrills and suspense (not voting for someone with integrity or leadership). To talk about higher goals of political activities and about Mr. Trump’s fit in the US presidency is of course a good thing. But this alone cannot vote out Mr. Trump. If Democrats are to be serious about getting clear majority votes, enough to avoid the last upsetting result, they must win the reality show lovers. Republicans degenerated themselves to this low: examples are abundant in their voting patterns in Congress. Can Democrats degenerate themselves to that low?
avrds (montana)
Admittedly those petitions demanding full release of the Mueller report are fundraising appeals. But right now we have few mechanisms to ensure we will get to know what Mueller and Barr know. It can't hurt to find one (or two) petitions from candidates you support and sign them. Be nice if candidates could report millions of signatures over the weekend. Let's keep the pressure up any and every way we can. There's no guarantee the American people will get to see the report in its entirety. And we should. We paid for it, after all. And we have the right to know if our president is a crook.
DC (Philadelphia)
@avrds No, we actually do not have the right necessarily to see it in its entirety just because we pay taxes. We pay for all government including defense and there is plenty we have no right to see. There are mechanisms in place to have members of Congress see the full report and to determine what should be made public versus what should be redacted. Essence of the report yes, details not necessarily.
David (Major)
They demand the report? Must be their dual allegiance to another country. Must be about the Benjamins.
MIMA (heartsny)
Stop talking about impeachment, whoever you are. Nancy Pelosi is right - it’s not worth it, or was it he’s not worth it she said? In Wisconsin we tried to dethrone Governor Scott Walker with a recall. Walker won the recall and it seemed to empower him beyond extraordinary means. He lasted two long terms which brought down our state in many ways, and he even tried to “fix” legislation to take away rights and disempower our now Governor Tony Evers before he left office. That legislation is now being disputed in the courts. Much of Walker’s legislation has cost us plenty in the courts - redistricting, voting rights, healthcare rights - it is still going on. We’re still paying for it and trying to pick up the pieces. In the meanwhile......that taxpayer money could have gone for real necessities for the people of Wisconsin, all the people, not just Walker’s chosen group. Imagine the glory when/if Donald Trump beat being impeached. The time, money, energy spent with a failed impeachment would prove what? For the time he has left, let’s keep Trump out of the limelight as much as possible. It may behoove election results in 2020. And right now that’s exactly what we need. Please do everything possible so we do not have to wake up on a November, 2020 morn seeing the words about prolonging a President Trump for four more years. Our country deserves so much better. Ramifications count.
Corbin (Minneapolis)
@MIMA Translation: ignore it and it will go away. This would be a good tactic except fascism is dangerous and people get hurt.
There (Here)
The Dems have already practically lost the election, if the Mueller report has no real evidence, they are truly done......
carl bumba (mo-ozarks)
@There They did put WAY too many eggs in that basket. But if they start acting more adult-like and accept the results here, as well as the legitimate election of Trump, in the first place, they can still get the support of many Independents and non-affiliated voters, whose numbers far exceed those of either political party - and most of whom are far from prosperous.
Sequel (Boston)
The candidates should think twice before making Russiagate part of the 2020 campaign.
Azalea Lover (Northwest Georgia)
@Sequel Agree. The key word is 'think'.
Thomas Fillion (Tampa, Florida)
Russia, if you're listening, please release the Mueller report to the American public!
Bob (Myrtle Beach, SC)
Oh release it already and let the public learn if their money was well spent. Will it reveal that the dossier was fake and the FBI colluded with the media to make it happen? If not, then the report can't be trusted because we now know that's precisely what occurred. And these politicians demanding the truth? That's hilarious. If only they held themselves to the same standard. Impeachment? Oh yeah, now go ahead and waste time on that while citizens are watching their health care premiums still going up due to Obamacare. And nobody cares.
huh (Greenfield, MA)
These people need to learn a little patience. Truth will out.
wnhoke (Manhattan Beach, CA)
The Democratic candidates speak with forked tongues: “The Trump Administration shouldn’t get to lock up Robert Mueller’s report and throw away the key,” Senator Cory Booker argued on Twitter, asking people to sign a petition and provide their names and emails. Such information is often used for future fund-raising solicitations.
Ralph Petrillo (Nyc)
Did he release his taxes?
s.whether (mont)
It is possible that only 20% of Americans care about this report. Voting is not a priority for many. Maybe, just maybe, we should educate the public about the differences of living in a Democracy with a real Democratic President or living under a Dictator like many of President Trumps''pals'' happen to be.
Herr Fischer (Brooklyn)
"Russia, if you're reding this, get us a copy of the complete Mueller report and leak it our media. They will be vey happy!"
Andy (Salt Lake City, Utah)
Using signatures to gather voter data is pretty low. What is a petition going to do anyway? Public opinion has no authority over Barr and Congress already agrees with the public. The House resolution passed 420-0. If Barr withholds the report, Congress can only respond by issuing subpoenas. Presumably those subpoenas will be ignored otherwise Barr would have simply released the report in the first place. Congress holds the DOJ in contempt and we go to court. We'll still be in court long after 2020. Giving your contact info to a presidential candidate in no way improves this situation. It's sleazy for the candidate to even ask under these circumstances.
Frank (Brooklyn)
thanks to their collective shrillnness, Donald Trump may very well be re-elected had they spent more time addressing issues, they would be taken a lot more seriously if the report comes up with nothing rather than being seen as Johnny-one-notes with no specifics and only an anti Trump agenda bordering on hysteria. let us hope that I am wrong or we get four more years of Trump.
IntheFray (Sarasota, Fl.)
@Frank Nice try Frank. You couldn't be more off base. The public demands and deserves the report in full. Save your arm chair sociology for someone naive enough to not see through it.
Bob (Myrtle Beach, SC)
@Frank It's not only their shrillness. What do they have to offer? They won't be able to run on the Mueller report. As Strzok noted, "There's no there, there." What do they have to run on? It's a giveaway contest as to who can make the largest promises which will fall flat when it's pointed out that we can't afford any of their promises of pie in the sky.
Girish Kotwal (Louisville, KY)
@Frank from Brooklyn. Your frank thoughts about the reason why Trump may get reelected as president in 2020 are on the spot. If senator Booker and the other dozen or more Democratic candidates running for president were doing something constructive ifor the people of the country, instead of playing the role of Spartacus and hoping against hope that Mueller would somehow hand Trump over to the Democrats for a feeding frenzy are in for an anti climax and disappointment leaving them with nothing to show for their blind opposition to the president,
Pia (Las Cruces NM)
Let's see where the chips have fallen. Thank you, Mr. Mueller.
Paul (Northern California)
No, it should not be released. It will only lead to gross speculation and conspiracy theories. And the vast majority of the American public is unable to put their politics aside and look and things objectively and understand why nondisclosure protects the rights and due process of all parties in the digital age.
D. Yohalem (Burgos, Spain)
@Paul It is non-disclosure that will lead to 'gross speculation and conspiracy theories'. Besides, the American people paid for it. Ostensibly, they own it.
DC (Philadelphia)
@D. Yohalem So since we pay for everything that is done by the government you think we have a right to know everything? Come on, people, let's see some common sense used. We have elected officials who are vetted for proper clearance who can read the report and decide what can and cannot be released.
