Seth Meyers Says Trump Should Pay His Taxes, Not Donate His Salary

Reminds me of that witch Leona Helmsley. She treated her employees abominably too and was quoted saying "We don't pay taxes, only the little people pay taxes." The bench finally went to jail for tax evasion. That's where Trump belongs.

Trump is cashing in on the presidency marketing his properties and selling influence to paying guests. Kushner got a billion$ loan from Qatar based on being in the White House, the Trump/Kushner families are cashing in as fast as they can before Trump gets out of power and heads to NY prison.

Does anyone see a conflict that he is giving $$$ to an agency that his office oversees? Also, I believe ALL donated funds are to go to the General Fund, so his ignorance of the system and how government works is on full display.

Nothing trump does rings true because he lies about everything. He will not reveal his tax returns (as all elected officials do) because he is in deep debt to the Russian Oligarchs (money laundering) and Deutsche Bank over 2 Billion dollars. Don the Con does not have the money he claims...just another lie! His salary is a political stunt.

Sorry folks he will be re-elected in 2020. He has the red States with their Electoral Votes in his vest pocket. I am certain he cannot get the popular vote. The Senate is a toss up. Will the 18-35 voter go to the voting booth? They could/will make a difference. .

You can’t make donations to a specific department of the government - it all goes to Dept of the Treasury and is allocated according to the budget allocations set by Congress. So this is totally bread & circuses on the part of Trump, wiocaHa

It's so wrong he doesn't pay any taxes! Do I know that, well no, but it's what the two late night goers say so it just must be true cause they know stuff.

Another deceitful maneuver! It is cheaper to donate 100k than pay million of dollars in taxes.

That $400,000 is offset when you consider how much he's making a year by maintaining the old U.S. Post Office tower. Last year, the Trump organization was paid $500,000, I believe. He even got a waiver to keep it open during the shutdown.

He hasdn’t paid taxes for years and claims his returns are constantly in audit so I’d like to see the voodoo economics on his 2018 return claiming these so called donations.

When trump said he was smart for avoiding paying taxes, I yelled at the TV~no you are thief! OMG! The day he falls will be day of rejoicing for many. As for those that still think he is "it" what is wrong with you?

I lowered his reported net worth by $3 billion to $5 billion. I am not good at math, but it looked to me as if I used the equivalent and gave $100,000 in charity it would add up to a whopping $176.00. Of course, what I will owe in taxes (not complaining) prior to April 15 is $1500 above and beyond what has been deducted from my paycheck throughout the year. He knows that this looks like a lot of money to some folks, but even if he actually did this (he lies a lot) Colbert is quite right: it's a "nickel in the tip jar." I will never, ever understand the appeal of this man to anyone, let alone some of the good and decent people I know who voted for him.

@Wanda Do truly "good and decent" people vote for Trump? Debatable! However, as in the analyses of 1930s-40s Germany, the ultimate take will be that those 2016 voters were hoodwinked, conned, and ultimately hypnotized. Not gold, but pyrite.
