Wonderful cottagy feeling, the house in Columbus, Ohio. But it looks like it is impossible for anyone but a child to take a shower, while standing up straight.

Obviously a sellers market, I'd wait for it to become a buyers market and watch those prices drop
Vickie (Columbus/San Francisco)
I can live in 1000 sq ft, just not in one with so many sloping ceilings, where I tilt my head to take a shower. German village is "cute" but the brick heaving sidewalks invite a fall. The cold winter months limit your ability to get outside. With one bedroom and no garage and those sloping ceilings, I would feel trapped.

A 2.6 acres island, but only about 1 acres is above water? I'd call that a 1 acre island.

The house in Columbus is absolutely lovely. I’m a New Yorker who became friends with the owners when I lived in Ohio for a year. I enjoyed many wonderful meals in their dining room. I lived down the street—that neighborhood couldn’t be better.

@Heather cute, but 6 k in taxes?

I agree; I loved that cottage in Ohio

In Chester County, PA, one of the higher income counties in the US -- part of greater Philadelphia -- for that price one could buy a five bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, fully finished basement house with an acre of lawn and trees. Makes one wonder, does it not?

The Pine Plain island property appears to be a party house rather than a "home."

@R. Vasquez Yeah, not comfy....all bare wood. I'd be scared to sleep there without fire sprinklers.

What an interesting assortment! I like them all.
