Colbert is not funny. The “Trump is an idiot” is wearing out as a punch line. It’s feels like an informational paid for by the DNC. Can you imagine a late night show devoted to bashing Obama every single night while he was president ?

What's really funny is that Coldbear was sinking like a pair of cement boots in the East River until Trump glided down the escalator. Step, like all of late night, the MSM and so on, have done real good as Trump's side man. The problem is, like Ed McMahon, when the headliner calls it quits, the side man just drifts off camera and is forgotten like a bad joke. So, yuk it up, Step. The jokes on you.

Regardless of whether it was inappropriate for President Trump to exploit a grade-school child who had been bullied because of the shared last name, it was beyond inappropriate for Trevor Noah to use this as grist for a joke, basically at this child's expense, further adding to his trauma.

I fail to see at all what is funny about Colbert. The genius of Carson, etc. was that they could appeal to people on all sides of the political spectrum. Colbert is simply another smartass telling people what they want to hear. As the President might say, sad

“It is so hot, if it wasn’t my economy perhaps I’d be dating it.” Actually, on a certain level this may be the joke that best captures the gestalt of the entire "Trump experience"....

The mother of all rhymes comes to mind. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Absolute power may corrupt absolutely but a witty riposte, an acerbic pun and a visceral bellowing laugh are quicker and more cathartic...

Steven, Seth, Jimmy and Trevor make this presidency a little easier to take. Its unfortunate that the most comprehensive and truthful assessment of this disastrous presidency comes from the late night shows. Fox News could learn something about the news by watching these guys.

Would someone please start mocking the so-called funny guys of late night! Same old, same old!
The Sanity Cruzer (Santa Cruz, CA)
@bt I am sure they'll come up with new material once we get a new president. That'll be in 2 years or less, much less possibly.
MHM (Metro)
@bt I'm sorry. Mocking the truth is the President's official job.
jb (ok)
@bt, go ahead. We're all ears.

It was boring. Trump is so boring with all the bluster and blathering and he says nothing. Compare Onbama's speeches in which he discusses policies and goals. Trump introduced nothing but minions of people to an already yawning audience. Why?

My friend Jimmy M was a painter who worked for Trump the father. This was when latex paint was new and Fred wanted to be sure all rooms received two (2) coats of paint. He put his son on the job. The son, Donald, spent the summer watching paint dry.

The material needs to either be funny or clever, particularly with the amount of Trump material being delivered. For the most part outside of Trevor Noah and Seth Meyers, the other late night hosts sound like they are the warmup acts for an MSNBC show. Noah and Meyers consistently have a unique angle with their material, the other guys are as predictable as finding a Starbucks on the next block.
