Law enforcement conducted an investigation and the Prosecutors office declined to press charges. What could have been done by the campaign in this situation? Terminating Mr. Alvarez simply based on the accusation could open them up to a lawsuit. Possibly have moved Ms. Brennan and Mr. Alvarez to different positions in order to limit interaction?

Can we get nj transit working first before we get to this. Should be no excuse for trains getting cancelled on the daily. Either keep your workers accountable or start firing management
David Goldberg (New Hampshire)
@Danilo Bonnet Maybe we could work on transit AND investigate sexual assaults? Pretty sure there are different teams for those two problems.

What are employers supposed to do when LE investigates and prosecutors decline to prosecute the case? They can't fire people with no evidence of a crime if they don't want to get sued by the accused.

the spectre of obese beach boy persists in nj culture

New Jersey's finest inaction, again.

The fish rots from the head down. Claiming ignorance is unacceptable and we should no longer tolerate implicit endorsement of sexual assault/harassment, whether from the right or left. This administration needs to do right by Ms. Brennan and her fellow New Jerseyans.

Another woman sexually harassed by her Democrat superior. The trend of Democrats, liberals and progressives who claim to champion woman's rights while abusing them in private continues unabated.

@paul Please take some time and review the Republican party's horrid history of sexual abuse before throwing stones.
butthead (garden city ny)
@paul NO one is saying that either party is more abusive to women than the other
EDC (Colorado)
@paul Oh, poor poor Paul. Always missing the bigger picture.

You can almost feel the hot potato being tossed around between the players who should have addressed the issue promptly. Too little and too late.

Ms Brennans's outrage is not wrong, it is righteous. But her focus is misplaced. How and who in the Hudson County Prosecutors Office decided that this case was not worthy of attention should be her focus along with Senator Loretta Weinberg's and the Governor's? " Loretta Weinberg, the state senator who is co-chairwoman of the select committee holding the hearings, said she still had questions about the timeline of events, the apparent communication breakdowns in the governor’s office and the role of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in the case. “I would like to know why the case was declined,” Ms. Weinberg said, adding that the hearing would resume on Dec. 18."
