I like her. I think the whole fiasco for Trump is hilarious, and I can't wait to read her book. She smashes the fiction the Bible-thumpers advocate that Trump is a pious and religious man (speaking of books, there are actually books about THAT - "The Faith of Donald J. Trump" and "God and Donald Trump", etc.). Huh - right. As if.

One of Stormy's stated reasons for accepting the "hush" money was to spare her daughter the publicity. I wonder what her daughter must think of mommy now that she has exploited her notoriety by touring the nations strip clubs and disrobing before strangers to milk her fame for every cent she can get. It didn't take much for mommy to abandon her concern for her daughter so she could earn a few bucks. People who sell out their own moral principles in support of such a person are no better than the man they despise.

She would make a much better President than the current oaf.

In City She Shook shouldn't it be In The City She Shook?

I really don't care what President Trump did or did not do with Stormy Daniels or anybody else. but I think we should all care about why he thought it necessary to pay her off, and in such a scheming, sneaky way. and, by the way, Trump might also claim that he never had a dalliance with me, either, but somehow he never thought to offer me any money and a hush-my-mouth agreement as he's done with so many others. what gives? how come I'm rooked if I never was naughty with him, either? equal treatment outside the law!

Just a note on Politics and Prose, the bookstore in question - it's a wonderful place for those of us who love books. Coming to DC every so often from what is called by coast dwellers - fly-over-country, I always try to make one stop at that bookstore as well as at Kramer Books and Afterwards Cafe in Dupont Circle when I am in town. They both present folks with ideas, some of them touching on more modane issues, some of them, like Ms. Daniels, sexier topics, but all designed to stimulate thinking as well as to sell books. Did I mention the books, those things filled with paper that too many of the twenty year old set can't be bothered to touch? I am sure the crowd to see Ms. Daniels was strongly anti Trump tinged with a bit of curiosity about what someone in her profession really looks and sounds like in person. After all, whether her motive was to increase her visibility to help herself professionally, because she felt the country needed to hear her story to help it save itself or both, Ms. Daniels is one of the few people who has interacted with this President, and, without having to make a deal with the Special Council, talked about that interaction publicly. Now she has a book to sell based on that experience. Publicity will help book sales as well.

What a perfect snapshot of America. A war hero President lies in state. A porn actress is interviewed by a distinguished journalist at a book signing for the 'star's' memoir. And a septuagenarian wants to see said author unclad. As they say, 'You can't make this stuff up!'

It's fascinating to see how far the media as come in 20 years. Bill Clinton's numerous assault victims were shunned and scorned by the media and Democrats, while Stormy Daniels, who had a consensual one night encounter with Trump, is considered a hero because she broke the terms of a confidential agreement for which she was paid $130,000.

I must give Ms. Daniel's credit for being savvy. She has transformed herself from a fading porn actor in a business that discards women like an old newspaper and has now become a tell all author. Unfortunately her 'tell all' story that has occupied the headlines for months has turned out to be a tempest in a teapot. But her real skill has been in public relations and self promotion. Did Trump cheat on his wife/s? Yes. Has he committed sexual assaults? By his own words the answer is yes. If he's lied, then add this to a very long list of his lies. Was paying Ms Daniels hush money a crime? No. Was she smart to try and void the deal? Absolutely. I'm sure she's made more from her book deal than she ever got from the non-disclosure contract. Is anything in the book or from a promotion tour new or news worthy? Not really. But Ms. Daniels is smart enough to play public interest about sleazy politicians as far as she can. I hope she can turn this success into some sort of business to help other women who desperately want out of the porn industry but are economically desperate, under educated and for many, still suffering the trauma of sexual abuse somewhere in their lives. That story would be news worthy and that talk about saving women from this horribly abusive business is one I'd attend.

“You — Stormy Daniels the porn star — are the one who is the ethical person.” Only in the media cesspool that needs to forever fan the flames with titillating tabloid trivia.
