Beautiful work and storytelling.

Interesting approach, the collaboration, storytelling, photography. I'm particularly interested in the collaboration . . . and the stories . . . and the photography.

My Christmas present? It is awesome . Reminds me of Colin Trumbull’s two classics The Forest People and The Mountain People. (One of idyllic wonder with the Mbuti pygmird of the Congo, one of coldness setting in as famine rules among the Ik of Kenya and caring dies.) And the best of Leni Riefenstahl’s The Ladt of the Nuba. Yet here we have both text and photos. I would love to read the text.

Beautiful stories and images of people’s realities in the Congo. Although these stories are specific to the Mbomo peoples in the Congo, it is reflective of each and every other tribe, peoples and way of life across Africa and beyond. I grew up in neighbouring DRC in Kinshasa. I wish I had the awareness and maturity to visit these places and national parks to truly glimpse the way of life. Unfortunately due to lack of infrastructure, it was indeed challenging. I will purchase this book and reconnect with what I missed in my youth.

One of the miracles of storytelling is the more specific the detail into a given tribe or people, the more they resonate universally among us all. Excellent work. Thank you.

Thank you. I am again studying storytelling after a mother and father who were superb and takes of dad’s grandfather for whom the children and hobos and ladies of the evening gathered on the porch every evening to hear his tales. I had forgotten what you just said about the details making the stories universal. I must remember it.

I love the deep sense of caring and connection interwoven between the stories and the people looking out from the photographs. Power faces and voices sharing their lives and wisdoms; from simple to sublime. Thank you to all of the creators who enrich us here in the West with this terrific accomplishment of sharing.
