If I had three wishes, guess what. Population control, starting at the top.

I am glad to hear that the President has learned that “love can’t be forced”

The Casa Rosada balcony was a Perón show on "Loyalty Day" (October 17th). Evita was an add-on, as others like the head of the CGT, the workers' congress. He also spoke from there when he returned in 1973. Evita, like Gardel, grew after death.

Seeing two murderers - the Saudi Prince and Putin - high-fiving each other , laughing and yucking it up was just chilling. And we have no one on our side to stand up to these two -- we have a sad, small hotelier who doesn't read, has no clue, and worst- doesn't care.

@LynnCalhoun Who is the 'We' that feels saddened by this 'small hotelier'? Not the 40% of this riven nation, that politicians of every stripe, still refer to homogeneously as "the American people". That 40% that voted for him, will still perhaps vote for him! And that's the pity of it.
Manuela (Mexico)
@LynnCalhoun I would only add that he not only doesn't care, he admires it profoundly judging by his adulation of the so-called "strongmen."

@LynnCalhoun Lynn, it is always about Trump? Obsessed Dim. I did not vote for him but I hope he has a successful Presidency! I have watched the Dims and they are certainly in Trumps league or worse.

Trump's appearance on the world stage is hardly MAGA. He looks diminished and weak. Putin and MBS aren't even pretending to respect him. I don't know how anyone can still support this President as he brings our country down in the world.

Why are the Saudis the only ones to insist on traditional ethnic dress at international events? All other nations have the equivalent ancient and traditional outfits, but at an international summit they all wear business clothing, except the Saudis. Just curious.
Sun (Paris)
A simple answer is that everyone is wearing the same thing they would wear at home in their present duties.

@mary bardmess In the Saudi case, that headdress makes sense when in the desert sun. Not in the air-conditioned super-duper living conditions of today's Saudi 'Princes', I'd think.

Now that Trump and Putin are no longer best friends, and Cohen and Trump are no longer buddies, one gets the creepy feeling that Cohen was to Trump as Trump might be to Putin. The primary difference of course is that Cohen could have seriously damaged Trump's tenure, but it's unlikely that there's much Trump could do to Putin. So odd that we're reduced to talking about personalities at an international meeting of such significance.

This high five is a sign the Trump and Kishore families have sold America for personal gain. There is no other meanings to its I hope real republicans wake up before Mitch the Chinese spy destroys America to communism of Russia and China.

Just as in days gone by, when Trump was shunned by the NY elite, he finds himself alone and wanting. This time, on the even bigger world stage. His house of cards, made of braggadocio and bluster is straining at the seams, as world leaders play him for a fool. His, "I alone can fix it," plan is circling the drain of self realization. Add the Pressure of the newly elected Democratic House, and this could get ugly, very fast.

@Walter Ingram It must be hard for him to be back in junior high in Jamaica Estates

“The net result is not just a missed opportunity,” Mr. Burns said, “but the acceleration of international disorder and the long-term weakening of American influence.” Trump is losing his stomach for his responsibilities as President. His personal headaches (Mueller) are a distraction of some consequence. He knows that his Presidency is threatened politically, he lost the midterms to the Democrats. Trump is beginning to feel overwhelmed. So, he avoids the meetings with other leaders. If he had stayed home for the G20, he could not have done more damage to our national rep.

Trump wants the World to think he cancelled a meeting with Putin but who believes that?
Lawrence (Reichard)
Elliott Abrams? The Elliott Abrams who was a key architect of President Reagan's slaughter of Central Americans? That Elliott Abrams? What does a man have to do around this place to get discredited?
Rick Gage (Mt Dora)
Regarding that gleeful high five between Putin and MBS: When they say a picture's worth a thousand words, they are talking about that "Handshake seen around the world". Their uncontrolled enthusiasm could only mean that they know they have taken control of America without having to fire a shot (bone saws and poison not withstanding). On a positive note I think FOX news has finally found the answer to what a terrorist fist bump looks like. You know, what Meaghan Kelly accused Michele and Barack of when they gently jabbed one another in the White House.
Kinnan O'Connell (Larchmont, NY)
"As if to prove that the prince was not persona non grata, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry posted photos of him chatting with President Emmanuel Macron of France, President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico and President Moon Jae-in of South Korea, though not Mr. Trump. He even exchanged a modified high-five with Mr. Putin before they sat down next to each other at the first session of the leaders." The way this is presented makes it sound so *normal* when in fact it was anything but. The greeting between the two murderers was outrageous and disgusting.
