I didn't watch late night comedy before 2016. Shortly after this nightmare was inaugurated I started watching Best of Late Night every morning shortly after I woke up. It was the best way to reassure myself that the media was still alive and kicking. If late night comedy disappears, we will know it's game over. Many thanks to NYT for Best of Late Night.

Forget about impeachment. The Senate will never convict. Push a progressive agenda. Shore up Obamacare. Pass an infrastructure bill. Get some things done. Continue to campaign on behalf of the new House members elected in red states, and fund a ground game that will win Senate seats in 2020 when the map favors Democrats. And groom a worthy presidential contender. If they follow this path, they’ll sweep but it’s going to be tough because the left wants blood. I can’t think of a better House speaker than Pelosi who’ll instill discipline in the caucus.

A discussion of impeachment at this point is putting the cart before the horse. We still have an investigation underway. But if that investigation finds that the President has committed high crimes and misdemeanors, I don’t see what choice the Democrats have. If Republicans won’t defend the Constitution, one can still hope that the Democrats will.

@Lane Comedy is the only thing that makes my day of the nightmare we're living with Trump

@Lane Colbert and Kimmel's opening stand-up is consistently funny. But I have a sense of humor AND abhor Trump.
