I was rather glad when James Corden set sail for the New World, as I never liked his comedy and was glad he was no longer on my telly. That said, the clip included here with Robert Winston had me laughing the house down. “What’s gonna happen?” “I don’t know...”.

What are Trevor Noah's qualifications as a hurricane disaster response authority? Just another transparent jab at Trump, hoping for death from a thousand papercuts. If Main Stream America sees through the charade, we'll see it in the November Elections. Time will tell. Until then, keep energizing the Republican base Trevor.

PR is a black hole that outside of great beaches and weather offers zilch as an ongoing society. Greed and corruption doesn’t earn or deserve any rewards or pity.

Too much Colbert! Not enough Conan.

President Hyperbole is nothing if not entertaining. I think that's one thing we can all agree on.

It's no surprise that Trump doesn't understand a scientific study--he's just functionally dumb. It's sadder that he imagines his "base" will believe that Nancy Pelosi et al. got into the records and falsified them. And someone dying of old age would not be added to the list: such a study is about excess deaths, comparing mortality rates post-hurricanes with those of years before the tragedies.

Trevor, you are no longer funny, and I am sorry to tell you, because you used to make me laugh. Until, of course, you no longer did. Why? You got too political! Remember, you are not running for office. Like me, you are a guest in this country. So, don’t abuse American generosity and spoil it for all of us. Stay out of politics!!
Des Johnson (Forest Hills NY)
@Rosa Maria: Whose hospitality is he abusing? That of Trump? Trump was appointed by the Electoral College on the basis of coming second in the popular vote. I'm an immigrant, and am not running for anything. I contribute in my way as Noah does in his way, and will not tolerate anyone telling me I'm abusing "hospitality." If I shut up and say nothing, I'd be neglecting an obligation of citizenship.

@Rosa Maria - The Daily Show has always been political.

@Des Johnson:Agree "tout a fait" with Rosa Maria" except to add caveat that Noah, along with John Oliver, an immigrant from 0ld Blighty, never has been funny, and although their papers are in order, I resent their presence and their mockery of our president whom over 61 million of us voted for.Imagine an American stand up comic going to GB and making fun of the mayor of London who brushes off terrorist outrages by declaring that living with the danger is just part of the urban experience, of living in a big city. Remember Enoch Powell's "Rivers of Blood " speech half century ago in which he predicted disaster for GB if it continued to let 50,000 unvetted newcomers in yearly. Was he not right in predicting GB's ghastly future? Imagine Oliver making fun of Sadiq KHAN!Never happen!Modern "comedians" are simply not funny! The left ruins everything it touches, plain and simple truth!Respect the Constitution and the Electoral College. If HRC, apparently disabled, had won, we would have had an open borders policy, and you might have found a migrant family setting up housekeeping on your front lawn. Trump stands for LEGAL immigration, and as your president as well as mine, her merits our support!

Hope he does better than the time he saved Puerto Rico from the Mayor of San Juan.

The world outside trump's head barely registers, save for targets to exploit or to attack. Last night I caught a video clip of trump's response to 911 made at the time of the disaster. Trump's take? His building was now the tallest building in Manhattan after the Twin Towers collapsed. The man's derangement has been on such obvious public display forever.

How on earth did today's rundown overlook the most recent installment of "Amber Says What" on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers'? This is a gem of comedy and commentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBeSD2b14sw

It’s distressing that the president insists on making the impending hurricane Florence about him. I can’t think of another president who would even consider denying that thousands of people died in hurricane Maria. Trump seems unprepared for just about anything presidential. Trump is showing clear signs of living in an alternative reality that should frighten everybody in the US and the world. Congress should be preparing for what Trump may do as the slow moving wheels of justice are catching up with Trump.
Alexander Harrison (Wilton Manors, Fla.)
@Javaforce: But that's his nature, and wasn't every speech his predecessor gave about Barack Obama, himself? If you have a big enough ego to run for president and win against almost impossible odds, then you will relate everything to yourself!" Et alors?"When c.e.o's of Home Depot, Loews, Target among others offer unqualified endorsements of The Donald's economic policies, then you know we are on the right track! Did his predecessor enjoy such popularity with the big enchiladas of multinationals? Compare 1 percent growth under Obama with plus 4 under Trump, and lowest unemployment level in decades.Do not believe that voters will want to replace the G0P, solidly behind the president, with those Democrats torn between socialism, open borders and a middle of the road approach!

@Alexander Harrison Sorry Alexander but 2017 GDP was 2.2% and the Unemployment rate started dropping in 2010 and the steady decline has only slowed down since the end of President Obama’s tenure.
Des Johnson (Forest Hills NY)
@Alexander Harrison: Oh Alex! Growth rates under Obama? We're lucky that after the housing bubble burst we had any growth rate. And there were at least four periods in the Obama years with 4% GDP growth. The recovery began March 2009. Check the Wall St. Journal.
