In this picture I believe that the women sleeping in the floor is homeless. She probably met one of the employees and he/she took pity on the women and let her sleep there. First of all, she must have not had a place to sleep. Secondly, she has brought blankets with her which can be inferred as she always carry them around so that she can sleep anywhere. She also has, what looks like to be, a coat. This could mean that she has been outside where most homeless people reside. Some other things that I notice were the large canister at her feet and the magazine that looks like a Walmart magazine. You could infer from the large canister that she always make sure she at least has water. In conclusion, I believe the woman in the picture is homeless.
I think there a woman that was homeless and she is sleeping in the store and she is eating something from Walmart.

I agree that the women is homeless, but I don't believe that she is eating Walmart's supply. The only way that she could get food is if she stole it or bought it. Walmart wouldn't give her free food and she was probably heavily watched on the cameras to make sure everything stayed in its place and wasn't missing.

I believe that this women is a Walmart employee that is trying to make a statement and protesting . This could be seen when looking at the fact it seems early in the morning because there is only one person shopping. Also the person in the background could be a Walmart employee that is restocking before Walmart opens. The statement/protest I think she is making is that she is to poor to afford housing and is homeless because of the low wages she is being payed. If you also key in on the jacket which looks to have the Walmart symbol to further this reasoning.

The women is obviously homeless though I don't believe the grocery store is the place to go or that section. It's not really evident what's going, who she is, or what she does.
She’s a greedy Black Friday shopper. She’s sleeping in the food section cause no one will ever suspect to check over there. As you look closer you see she has a Walmart pamphlet with TV’s and she has something plugged in behind her and she has a lawn chair which indicates that she know she might get kicked so she has a chair to wait in line, plus the guy in the background has a coat which indicates cold season, which Black Friday is in the cold season... or she’s just homeless looking for shelter

In the picture, a homeless person is sleeping on the floor of a grocery store, specifically a Walmart while people are shopping around them. The living supplies around the person and the fact that they look like they have been there for a while allows me to infer that they are homeless. I can also infer that the person is sleeping there because of harsh weather conditions, the fact they are near refrigerators might suggest there is extreme heat outside of the Walmart. A question I have is if the person is a woman or a man, as well as if they really are homeless, and what their backstory is. Also, I would like to know where this picture takes place to further acknowledge weather conditions.

I think she might be a victim of something, be it a natural disaster or something going on with her social life (family for example).

Is that why the man in the background doesn’t notice her? How did LA Times find out about this? Why Walmart? What is the significance of documenting her story?
I see a woman on the floor of a shopping market possibly waiting a tv to be put into the store(I only say that because of the coupon or catalouge that's on the floor next to her). Maybe she's protesting something or can't afford to sleep in a house and won't sleep outside because of the dangers.

There is a homeless women in a Walmart.The evidence I see that shows my thinking is that the women has a blanket and a sleeping bag on the floor to sleep on.Normal people do not lay down in a Walmart with sleeping materials.I can see that behind her she has a water bottle so she might be using that for water.I can also see that she has a jacket an a pillow.The jacket and the pillow might of been given to her by a customer so she can sleep comfortably and stay warm.The only question I have is if she was given all the stuff she has in the picture.
I can not decide on what I think. In the comments I say 2 different perspectives and both of them seem logical enough to be true. I believe that there is a women laying down inside of Walmart but when it comes down to the question why, I can't yet decide. I can't decide on if she's either homeless and needs a place to rest or if she is waiting on a sale. But then again, if there was supposedly a sale, why is she the only one just there laying down. I believe that usually more than 1 person knows about a sale. This is my honest opinion.

In this picture it looks like there is a homeless women is laying down in a grocery store. To me it looks like the homeless women has been there over night. The women probably was there asking people for money, and then she got tired of asking. Her asking made her tired to the point where she knew she didn't want to sleep in the street, so she took off her jacket and backpack. -In this photograph, there seems to be a little girl in front of a bunch of men with coats and scarves on. This leads me to believe that she has interrupted a photo shoot of some kind.
-The things that lead me to believe this is the large professional camera at the bottom left and the outfits that the men are wearing which are high quality and would be the sort of thing you'd see in a photo shoot.
-The men in the photo look like they are models and are wearing clothing that models would wear. The girl also looks like she may have to use the bathroom and is looking off from the camera probably at her parents.

A girl is sleeping an the floor of Walmart. She is homeless and is simply looking for shelter in a Walmart store. She is rarely getting money that is why you don't really see much food she drinking out of the same red and white bottle. she has few clothes. This shows that the lady is in fact Homeless and has nowhere to go that's why she's holding up in a Walmart store

1. In the picture it appears there is a man who maybe homeless trying to sleep in the middle of the floor near the dairy section of a Walmart.
2. I believe this man maybe homeless because why else would he be sleeping in a Walmart? I believe it is a dairy section of a Walmart because of the sign in the background talking about yogurt and the sign to the left with a Rollback deal on what might be butter.
I believe he wanted to be seen by people also, because why would he sleep in the colder dairy section when he could just as easily go somewhere that is probably warmer like clothing.

Hi, I made this exercise with my students and this are their theories:
Theory #1:
There's a homeless lady sleeping at walmart. I think this because I see a mattress, a pillow and a blanket.
Theory #2:
I see a man waiting on the line for blackfriday sale. I know this because I have experienced it.
Theory #3:
She is a normal person waiting on a line to buy some tickets for a concert in walmart. She's prepared for the wait with things to sleep and eat.
Theory #4:
The man went to sleep at walmart because he has no food and a place tio sleep so he went to walmart searching for this.

There is a woman lying down on the floor of a dairy section in Walmart, who might be seeking for shelter. I say this because the woman has her blankets and possessions with her, and there are dairy products in the freezers. I can also see that there is an old person ignoring the woman and grabbing some yogurt.
What I believe is going on in the picture is that it's trying to show us that our society doesn't seem to pay much attention to homeless people now a days. I see a woman in the back shopping for food in a grocery store and doesn't put much attention to the homeless woman laying down on the floor covering herself with blankets. I also notice the homeless with a food cart with a bit of her stuff in it.

I believe this image is meant to show the disparity between low income and common income citizens. I believe this is so because in the back there is an average man shopping for food, while in the front of the image, there is a homeless woman lying on the ground, huddled in her blanket. I personally feel that it’s given a sign and is trying to tell us something which is that homeless doesn’t matter to anyone and nobody really cares about them because it’s not them. They’re not suffering so it’s not affecting them so it shouldn’t matter to them. I get this idea from the lady laying down in the store in a blanket and the man is just shopping and doesn’t care about the lady.
I think that this picture represents the world around us. The person behind the woman seems to either be ignoring the fact that the women exist or that she’s there laying down looking like she needs help.She reminds me of the unfortunate people on the streets of all over the world but who knows why she is in the store . She’s placed there as if that is where she is gonna sleep there. She has all of her belongings with here , like it’s her new home.

I think that’s this lady is homeless and decided to take shelter in a Walmart, it’s shows the struggles of being homeless and not knowing where your staying that night or when you next meal will be
This woman is not homeless. She is testing her camping equipment. You can clearly see a water bottle and shoes behind her as well as a jacket in front of her and a thermos at her feet. Not to mention the the shopping cart next to her has a fold up chair in it, garbage bags, and sleeping bags.

In my opinion, I think that this picture represents how, currently, in our society, people don't recognize the things that happen around them. The person behind the woman seems to either be ignoring the fact that the women is there or doesn't even realize she is there. Also, it seems odd that there aren't any employees trying to kick her out of the store. She has blankets, a jacket, and a few other belongings, including a chair, that seem to be her mobile home. She is just like the unfortunate people on the streets of NY, but she may have moved to the store to get more attention for an act of kindness (money, food, water, etc.).

I see a lady camping in Walmart, waiting for a sale to start and she is in colder section maybe because she wants to fall asleep faster because when your surrounded by a colder environments your body starts producing body heat for u can get warmer faster, it makes it easier for people to fall asleep, that why some people keep a fan in their room at night or leave the A.C. unit on.

I think it's a homeless lady who has no where to stay for the hurricane and decided she should shelter in a walmart as it is safer than being on the streets.
It is strange that there are very few people in the photo in a Walmart. It is almost as if they are avoiding her. She is not homeless as there is a new magazine and a heavy duty looking thermos next to her. The blanket and jacket also look relatively new and clean. She seems like shes trying to demonstrate how the homeless are ignored on the streets. Another viewer suggested that she is a natural disaster refugee but that also raises the question why is she the only one.
I think that she is a person waiting for sales to go on in Walmart. She had a catalog and shopping carts near her. If she was homeless more people would notice her and give her more attention but I do not think she is homeless because she looks clean and the blanket looks new.
I think this women is trying to show how people often overlook homeless people. She is contrasting between how someone would look at a homeless person on the streets verses in a store. On the streets, homeless people become so common that most people look away. However, in this picture, the women seems to be grasping more attention and obviously creating a controversy. I don't think she is homeless herself, but protesting against people who are. She looks pretty clean and appears as if she wants this picture to be taking by directly looking at the camera.

This image is showing a probably a homeless woman who is using Walmart as their temporary shelter, maybe because of cold weather. You can see that although she is in the middle of the isle, no one is paying attention to her (except the person taking the photo). It shows, unfortunately, how society remains unbothered by the issue of poverty because of how relevant it is.
I think that in this photo it is showing a girl who went homeless and since the outside is so hot the frozen dairy isle was the perfect place to go for refuge. Also it may be an area where workers rarely go to, she also looks nervous about the picture so she is obviously trying to remain in secret in the cool store, possibly escaping bad weather with no homeless shelters nearby to hold refuge in.

Someone is camped out on the floor of a 24/7 Walmart. I think this person is most likely waiting for a sale to happen in the store. I believe this is happening in the United States because all of the signs are in English.
The person appears to be camping out because they are laying down covered in blankets. This person also has a coupon that says Saturday only which means they are probably waiting for this sale to start.
I think it is interesting that the shopper in the back of the picture seems to be unbothered by the person just laying there on the floor.

Hi...First, we think that the person in the picture is an asian woman because of her looks, eventhough a guy from the group thinks is a man for the clothes beside him.

He or she is a homeless person that is seeking for attention in a public place, in this case walmart, trying to make a statement about poverty.

He or she is a youtuber that might be doing an experiment on how persons react when they see homeless people, because this is very common in United States.
In this picture I see a homeless woman sleeping in a Walmart. I say that because she's sleeping in a Walmart and her possession are in a shopping cart. What most stands out too me is the man in the background ignoring the woman.
I believe this is a homeless woman and it is very hot outside therefore is cooling off in the frozen section of Walmart.

So what is going on is that she is sleeping, she is on a bed, she is very very cold.
What I see is a women wrapped in blankets on the floor in the dairy section of Walmart, most likely a homeless person who has nowhere to go. Outside was maybe too cold so she went into a Walmart to sleep inside where there were heaters. I say this because there is a person in the background wearing a coat so it might be cold outside.

What I believe is going on in this picture is a male female or LGBT person. We are not allowed to assume genders. But I believe she is in Walmart to protest against rotten foods and nasty odors. This makes me feel glad for someone who is standing up and trying to fix a problem in the world. I hope people follow this person.

I think that this person is homeless or having money problems. They probably work there and thought that their work was the only safe place they can stay in. They're somewhere cold so they can get food and is using blankets and a mattress that is probably from the store itself. The store is Wal-mart so it's a very popular place to shop in, showing the customer in background which the person in the blanket is hiding from.

i feel like this picture represents the lower class. Its a women trying to sleep inside of walmarts dairy asle. I believe this person is some sort of hunter or outdoors expert who is preparing themselves for an expedition out into the wilderness somewhere in Montana or North Dakota. This person looks somewhat bewildered and definitely looks like they own anywhere from 4-13 huskies for this exact purpose. The dairy isle in Walmart are notorious for being quite frigid and typically have a temperature between 15-49 degrees Fahrenheit. This person should be considered a genius for thinking of this way for preparation because this is probably 100 percent effective.

I believe that the woman laying down is waiting for a sale to occur on Saturday. I predict that due to the fact that there is a magazine on her blanket that says “Saturday Only!” along with reduced TV prices and pictures of the TVs. The other thing I can see is that she is at walmart due to the common sun-like savings logo in the dairy aisle.

I assume the woman is homeless because it appears that all her belongings are with her, and I assume it's Wal-Mart because the logo is on a price sign. There is a magazine near the woman's feet advertising a TV, so it is possible she is staying overnight to make sure she gets that TV.

I can find that they may still be on the move since they have a chair and a shopping cart still.

After taking a good look at this picture I notice a lady laying down at a Walmart. You can see it's a walmart by the logo on the price sign. Furthermore she's covered and the lady in the back doesn't seem to have a care in the world about her. I predict this picture shows a lady that is staying at walmart after some kind of catastrophe in her location. Inclusively you can see she has been staying there for a while since her cart has a chair on the bottom , she has a magazine and plenty of blankets.
So I see a whole lot of dairy, a person on the floor and a person standing up. The person on the ground was likely shopping for dairy products and decided to try some. Upon tasting the product, the person on the floor became aware that they were lactose intolerant and became gassy and had a stomach ache. But not to fear because the WalMart employees are here! The employees came in clutch and hooked the person up with a blanket and sleeping bag out of their camping isle. They then gave the person a jacket to keep them warm if they ever needed to get up and use the bathroom. After seeing what dairy did to the person on the floor, the person standing up went to put back the yogurt that they were about to buy leaving their cart on the edge of the aisle.

What makes me say this is that by her laying in the dairy aisle in the store could represent the cold nights she experiences alone which is also why she’s wrapped in her comforter. I also see the Walmart price tag on the top left corner that says 44¢. She’s not shopping for food with such low prices but laying down on the floor instead. The man in the back shopping also seems to be ignoring her, like how some people ignore the homeless instead of helping them by giving them something worth at least 44¢. In this photo I can also find a few magazines laying by the woman’s side, a chair under the shopping cart, a ketchup packet under the railing and a bottle next to the woman’s side.

Hello there! I am writing to share a few of the noticings and wonderings of my fifth graders.
We noticed that while it is unusual that there would be a person laying on the floor of a Walmart, the man in the background does not seem to be concerned, and no one else is coming to check on her or to ask her to leave. This lead us to wonder if what she was doing was legal, and if she perhaps had permission to be there. We were wondering where this Walmart was located and if it could possibly be somewhere in the path of a hurricane, in which case maybe this person was taking shelter at the store.

In this picture, there appears to be a woman or man, with the appearance of them being in their early or late 30s. As well as how they are wrapped in a blanket, that is grey and has red and green spiral markings. The blanket is on top of an icy azure mat, that may be used to cushion them so that they are not in pain from the impact on the floor. There is a small translucent bottle with a pink top behind them, a flannel pillow, and magazines that seem to be selling televisions. Perhaps there is some sort of sale that is going on? There is also a large blue canister at the foot of the blanket. And a large black bag that is open, maybe it is used for carrying packages or produce? Also, they appear to be laying next to a bin full of packages in the shape of cheese, that are on sale for $1.18. There also appear to be two shopping carts, a crimson bag hanging from the railing of the large bin, and an electric socket. There is also a man in the background who is not acknowledging the person on the floor. They may have some type of relationship. As well as he is getting yogurt. The electric socket may imply how they are using the energy from the bin to charge whatever supply that they need in order to save money. There are also bags inside of the shopping cart, also what appears to be a foldable chair to perhaps sit on. Maybe this person, works at this store and is taking a break? The store may also be a Walmart from the magazine, and maybe they are just waiting to buy a TV.

There are two people in the dairy section of a Walmart. A man is picking up something from the yogurt section, whereas a young woman is lying in front of a refrigerator. The woman is curled up on a mattress or sleeping bag and covered with a thick blanket. Slightly behind her at her feet is a shopping cart with only a jacket or something and a fold-up chair. Barely visible at the bottom left of the picture is what looks like another fold-up chair, and what might be the tip of a cup holder of a fold-up chair appears at the bottom center of the picture. On the blanket, there is a Walmart advertising leaflet, announcing the sale of TVs “Saturday Only”. It looks like they could be Samsung LED TVs. So I think the woman camping out on the floor just happens to be in dairy section of Walmart because maybe that is where there was room, because I suspect she is not the only one camping out in the store, based on the number of possible fold-up chairs. My guess is they are waiting for Saturday to get the TV deal, and Walmart was kind enough to let them camp out inside the store.

I think the person sleeping on the floor in Walmart is doing a social experiment to see how many people will talk to her, or ask if she needs help. I think the manager at Walmart would remove the person, or maybe try to help them.

Well what I can see is it looks like there is a homeless person laying down in a dairy section of a Walmart with her few belongings next to her and more in a shopping cart. What makes me say that is the fact that they are on the ground in a sleeping bag, and you usually don’t see that when you walk into a grocery store, you would see this more in a city. This is kind of a weird spot to stay if they wanted to try and keep warm, because usually the dairy section is probably one of the coldest spots in a store. Some other things I can find is there is another person shopping in the background. I can also see that there is a flyer for TV’s by the person, so they could be camping it out for a sale.

In this picture, I think that the lady that is laying down is homeless due to the blankets, water bottles and shopping cart with items that are near her. The weather outside is cold since she has the blankets. And she also has a magazine which shows that she must have been at the store for a while.
We immediately noticed it was a Walmart store. It was difficult to tell whether there had been two people laying on the floor, or just one. There were a few thoughts shared by my students of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.
*The person was homeless and had nowhere to go.
*It was a test to see how people would react.
*The other shopper was not with the homeless person and did not notice yet.

Clues that lead me to infer this is the yogurt selection in the back of the store and the cream cheese next to her. On one of the sale signs in the store, the Walmart logo can be seen. It’s as if the woman is on the move with her necessities. I can also find a coupon pamphlet on her makeshift bed space.
She is a possible homeless that is staying in the walmart and is trying to stay warm while people walk on by her so she might be trying to survive there is a part of the brain the causes the person to lose all reason but survival they will and can eat ANYTHING but if she has been eating it won’t work so she has to be eating well from by thief like stealing mcdonalds or the walmart and if she is not then i have no clue what makes me say this well the cart with the black bags and the mcdonalds stuff and the blue thing possibly hiding walmart stuff there is no more i can find except the bottle on the bag who nows what's that for

There are lots of signs in the photo that show price reductions and sales, which some people do camp out at the stores that they want to shop at on Black Friday. However she may be homeless because that’s not what people usually do unless they’re desperate for a place to stay.

What’s going on in the picture is that a presumably homeless woman is laying down in a makeshift bed on the floor of Walmarts dairy section. She has all her stuff with her and there is a person casually shopping in the section behind her. What makes me think this is the fact that there are all the rows of food specifically things like yogurt and sour cream behind this lady laying on the floor in blankets with a shopping cart full of random stuff next to her. You can also find a ketchup packet from Mcdonalds behind her and the walmart lodo on the price signs around her.
When I first looked at this picture I imagined that there was a homeless person on the dairy isles floor in a walmart.
The reason i say this is because i can see the set up that the person has, it looks to me like a homeless camp, considering she has a bed set up, bags everywhere, and some water in a bottle behind her. I can also tell that it is in a walmart because it has the walmart logo in many places in the background and it has the walmart tile and flooring.

What is going on this picture?: A man is shopping and most likely has money and the woman or the person that looks younger is laying on the ground and made a bed with an ice box, water bottle, backpack and other items.
What makes you say that?: The person who is on the ground looks homeless and unable to purchase anything but could be waiting for a sell or something but, why couldn't she wait standing up and without all of that stuff next to her? The old man obviously has money unless he is looking at the food.
What more can you find?: Shes laying next to the on sell sign and the shopping cart. She has a coupon or something for a tv, and it says “Tuesday only” so she could be camping out waiting for tuesday and have the coupon out so people can see she is waiting for the sell of the tv and not assume she is homeless.
In this picture there seems to be a woman who I believe is homeless, and she is laying on the floor in the middle of the yogurt section in Walmart. As well what appears to be a man looking at cottage cheese section part of the. I say this because if you go to Walmart or any grocery store you wouldn't find a person who has a home just laying on the floor with blankets in the middle of the yogurt section. 1) In this picture what I see is a man shopping in what looks to be the yogurt section and on the floor there is a woman laying on a sleeping bag with a blanket over her and some of her miscellaneous objects around her. It seems she is homeless, I also see a cart with what looks like a duffle bag and a camping chair that has most likely already been used so I assume it also belongs to the homeless woman. 2) I say the man is shopping in the yogurt department because It looks like the objects being sold are yogurt in this section and that is what he is looking at to buy. At a first glace, the photograph includes what appears to be a women struggling with poverty resting on the floor of a Walmart with her very few belongings beside her on the ground and in a shopping cart next to her. A man as well is in the background shopping for dairy products inferred by the advertisement for yogurt above the products. Moreover, all the products on the counters are fully stocked and have very low prices, to which they are most likely not being sold. With so many items to buy with such low prices, the shelves would be selling out with regular consumers. Under close consideration, the women may be struggling with a minimum wage job which corresponds with her condition. With the little amount of money minimum wage jobs offer, the poor woman would not have enough money to balance with food, shelter, utilities, and other necessities such as clothing prompting her to not be able to afford a house and sleeping on the floor. Additionally, since the food on the shelves is still fully stocked, many people are as well not buying them. It can be implied that the Walmart is in a low income area with a population similar to the women's living condition so the food is not selling.

What i think is going on in this picture is that shes homeless and she went inside to cool off. I believe she is hot because she went to the cool side of the store by the dairy section. Then she later on put on a blanket because she was cold, but still stayed because she was chill. I see that she was reading one of the store magazines that have the sales of the T.V.'s on it, which indicates that maybe they were having a sale and she was waiting for the sale to start kind of like as if she was camping outside by instead it was inside.

What I believe is happening in this photograph, is a woman sleeping in the isle of a Walmart grocery department. She had to stay the night to avoid the early morning traffic. The carton of yogurt on the back shelf is being taken by an old man, an interloper in her territory. She lies awake on the floor, aware of all that is about to unfold. Her body language, that of a criminal and a subversive crook, helps to deter the old fellow. He is unaware of his mistakes.

I say this because, of the undisclosed reason for which this woman made such an arrangement. I believe she has slept as a reason of the cotton blankets and tousled cloth she is wrapped in. The cart (presumably hers) stands inert and emasculated. I also say this as a result of the man having complete negligence toward her. Alas, I say this is Walmart due to the Walmart logo posted on various signs throughout the scene.

I am inferring that this individual is camping out at Wal-Mart for Black Friday sales. I believe that this customer is first in line to purchase a discounted Samsung television.

This is what we all see on a surface level, however I believe there’s more, like many other commenters on the site. I feel that the picture symbolizes the general populations actions and opinions. If it doesn’t directly affect them then they don’t care. This is symbolized in the picture by the older man in the back, proceeding with his day. You can definitely tell that the person is there due to having no home because there is a cart with other items that they would use at different parts in the day such as a chair. I like this picture because I find it very interesting that people are so interested in other people’s lives when there's gossip or when they can benefit, however as a whole people are only self concerned when it comes to helping others through hard times. Not everyone is blessed with a good life, and sometimes I feel like some people are like leaves on a tree, when the wind comes they blow away. You never know what a homeless person’s story is, but either way they are enduring tough situations and I feel like this picture symbolizes that.
There’s also a thin white line goes from the cream cheese display up to the top of the screen, and it separates the two people. I felt like it was very symbolic. I also noticed that although the person is surrounded by food, they have none themselves.

She has a blanket and items so she can sleep, a shopping cart with a chair in it so she can sit, and a magazine for entertainment. It is probably warm in the summer heat so she came into the store to cool down. Also, since she is in the middle of the store with the man not even paying attention to her she may be trying to get help, and the message may be that people are just ignoring the homeless people.

The woman might be “begging” in a different kind of way them most do. She could be purposely drawing attention to herself where she has to come in close contact with other people. Companies don't let homeless people sleep in their stores. protesters however threaten to ruin a company's reputation. I think this person a protester which is why Walmart refrains to throw them out.

We can see that there are people struggling in the everyday life and many people seem to just ignore it. Some people just worry about themselves and don’t seem to care at all about others but if we make a move and help those out there we can always make a difference.

We can see a woman lying on the floor in a supermarket with all her belongings. She is probably homeless. Around her there is a lot of products. In the background a man is bying some of them. The photo is quite shocking because she is surrounded by the wealth of others. As an exemple, the man in the background doesn't care of her and doesn' thelp her. The photographer took the photo to show how much the gap between the poorest and the wealthiest is growing. The sentance "Save even more" illustrate the fact that the rich people prefer saving money than people in need.

The fact that she's young makes me not think she's a homeless person as well as the dairy products around her. She has a store catalog beside her, to probably check the dairy of this store.

There is an catalog on her blanket for "Saturday deals" at Walmart. The women could be possibly homeless taking shelter at Walmart or she could be camping out to buy the new Saturday deals, since she has a catalog with her.

She doesn't seem homeless as her jackets are in good quality, she has a water bottle, and magazines. The magazine is for entertainment. She owns the cart to carry her belongings, including coats, and a chair to sit at while asking for money or food at the side of the road.

I think that this is a homeless woman in North or South Carolina trying to find refuge from the looming Hurricane Florence. Though she has a lot of items for someone who is potentially homeless, she has two water bottles around her, which suggests to me that she is preparing for this incoming storm. Additionally, she settled herself in the cooled, refrigerated section of the Walmart grocery store, which means she really settling in and wants to be comfortable. I think if she was only staying there for less than a day, she wouldn’t really camp as she has in this picture, and would lay her stuff in the non-perishable aisles of the grocery store. One more reason why she is taking refuge from Hurricane Florence was that she has brought two foldable chairs with her and seems to have all her belongings, which implies that she doesn’t want any of her few valuables to be damaged in this storm. Finally, the man in the background could possibly be completing some last minute shopping before being hit by the storm, but chooses to avoid the woman because he understands why she is staying there.

I think this picture is representing all of the poverty that we have in this world. I say this because I see a woman on the floor with a comforter and maybe a sleeping bag on the floor. I see a jacket and some papers on the floor. There’s even a hat that you can see at the bottom of the picture. I feel like it may be winter time and that’s why she has all of these big blankets and winter clothes. She is most likely homeless and was probably looking for a place to sleep where it is not freezing cold because that is probably what it feels like outside right now. I feel like she probably slept there overnight and into the morning where now customers are coming in to shop. The person’s had gone to wal mart with her mother and as they were making the rounds to get some Reddy Whip because they like cream not oil. As they were rounding the corner her mother saw her friend Cheryl who was there for the fire sale on the butter. Cheryl is a talker so the daughter decided to set up her air mattress and play some fort nite while she waits. Legend has it she is still there to this day.
My first guess would be that the woman lying there is homeless, and she doesn't have any other place inside to sleep. But, that seems all too predictable. I think that she is protesting something. There seems to be papers that have a lot of information on them that are lying on the blanket.
