These are the vicious and unfathomably corrupt despots of the UAE and Saudi Arabia backed by massive US military and political support- this is why 9/11 happened and not because of American "freedom".

While the Saudi was thinking of Yemen, his team got "massacred" on the field. I heard that Qataris have declared a national holiday to celebrate this trouncing. Talking about trouncing, Mr Putin now may be tempted to make a move on Kiev. It's wonderful what you can plan while watching 22 men chase one ball for 90 minutes.

There you go, fellow Americans, that is your tax dollars at work right there.

Sir, Mr. sidewalk, I think If you read this report, that the US declined to intervene.

Interesting Trump admin refuses to insist the invasion but the French do. Yet Macron takes it upon himself to lecture Italy over its moral duty to take in economic migrants. Most in the smart set would declare Macron and France to be the good guys and Trump and America the bad guys. Goes to show you that you can do a lot of dirt and still carry favor with the chattering classes if you dress well and speak their lingo.

Obama was attending a press dinner while Osama Bin Laden was being killed in Pakistan. Not sure how this is different, really. What do we expect of leaders undertaking war missions, exactly? When the world is very complex...Really, what are we expecting? They will not lead the charge and shouldn't.

Thank you: it looks like you read the story for the actual meaning.

For once, the USA is more reasonable than France, shame on my country

I wonder why they need this wall of bullet-proof glass...

And of course, the evil is Iran,

Reading about this and other distant wars does make me wonder if we really know what is going on? The semantic tag 'rebels' and 'terrorists' could just as easily be 'freedom fighters'. And as with other conflicts, Vietnam comes to mind, are we sure we are supporting the right side? Or is the whole issue the consumption of military disposables to the profit of some -- and the casualties and destruction of their historic built environment just acceptable collateral damage? And what does that say about us?

Just like an emperor, to order death and destruction and go to the circus. The gang of world dictators at play, admitting Trump to the club, since he helps them so much.
Paul (South Africa)
Disgusting specimen indeed.

You can’t let work take the happier parts of your life, or can you?

If that picture of the Saudi prince, FIFA pres, and V-Put doesn’t scream corruption, I don’t know what does.

That son of a Trump. Seriously.
