Cuomo Orders a Review of Vance’s Handling of Weinstein Investigation

But why hasn't Mr. Vance pursued other cases, where there are reams of physical evidence? Police officers issuing unlawful summonses, for example. Or the Department of Transportation [sic] erecting unlawful traffic control devices. Or public schools with multiple fire code violations. The answer is simple. Mr. Vance, as are the other district attorneys, is crooked.

A "review" in the Cuomo administration is a fait accompli. The outline of the draft is already completed along with the press release. Now comes the investigation. It is a shame that reporters in Albany are so afraid to look behind the curtain.

Why are we criticizing one of our nation's finest district attorneys? While declining to engage in certain prosecutions where a conviction might have been difficult to secure (Harvey Weinstein, Dominique Strauss Kahn), Vance has, for example, made excellent progress in suppressing the scourge of criminal satire, a sinister manifestation that poses a truly serious danger to society. For an assessment of the D.A.'s pioneering work in this regard, see: https://forward.com/opinion/385050/.

WHAT ABOUT Mr Vance not indicting Ivanka and Don Jr for their fraud regarding Trump Soho? still waiting for an explanation. What about the payoffs (or campaign contributions) from Trump's personal lawyer? Fraud in the private sector, fraud in the WH...what could go wrong?

It is good to see that Governor Cuomo has ordered a review the District Attorney's decision not to prosecute Harvey Weinstein. Presumably at some point this review would address the private security organization called Black Cube, an enterprise run largely by former officers of Mossad and other Israeli intelligence agencies, hired by Mr. Weinstein, presumably to shoo away the likes of Mr. Vance. We'll see if the investigation does not at that point come to a screeching halt.

How about also ordering a review of Vance's handling of the Trump children investigation into an alleged fraud they perpetrated involving their commercial real estate properties and the curious timing of a subsequent donation to Vance's reelection campaign by their lawyer.

Schneiderman also ought to investigate Vance for refusing to prosecute Ivanka and Donald Trump, Jr for lying to buyers of Trump Soho apartments. Is it a coincidence that this happened after Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s attorney, donated $25,000 to Vance’s re-election campaign? Vance again overruled his prosecutors.

Seems like evidence for prosecution in Vances' eyes must include free PR for himself. He doesn't step on big toes of powerful people, but he does prosecute the those without power and squeeze all the PR he can. Just google "Abacus Bank perp walk".

Something is rotten in the office of DA Cyrus Vance and i can smell it from Los Angeles. And it begins as almost all political crimes do with campaign contributions. And after the “ contribution” the next words we hear are: “ insufficient evidence to convict”. Really Mr DA? Isn’t it the jury’s role to decide guilt or innocence? And your job is to indict, correct?

This is just Cuomo trying to upstage Cynthia Nixon's campaign challenge. Every decision he makes comes from self-interest.

I don't disagree. But, it's one of those times when someone's self-interest coincides with that of the public.

It would be ironic indeed if Miranda, running for an office she's clearly unqualified for, winds up putting Mr. Big behind bars for sexual assault.

While you're at it,check out Marc Kasowitz's[trump lawyer]donation to Vance which led to Vance dropping fraud investigation into Ivanka and Trump jr.'s misrepresenting Trump Soho.Vance seems to have been enriching himself for years by dropping cases for cash bribes.

When Vance first ran for the office, I voted for Richard Aborn in the primary. Since then, I've written in his name during each subsequent election. Nice to keep being reminded I've been right all along...and I'm sure I'm not alone.
