We née we need more humanitarians such as you. You are truly one to be admired, sir. Thank you for your kindness and caring for Americans whom are termed “Puerto Rican”. They are Americans whom have been forgotten 8n this year if natural disasters and you are one who has not. You should be lauded.

His food has got to taste delicious, because he cooks with his heart.

While I applaud people who can muster up far more optimism than I can (and who make a genuine difference in the face of horrific disaster) when it comes to the Trump clan he cuts them way too much slack. They belong in jail, and not nice white people jail either. They should reopen Alcatraz just for them.

Why does every interviewer in this magazine feel compelled to bash President Trump? Every single time, can you at least try to hide the disdain you have for the President? Here is the real problem I have with the media, be it print news, electronic, etc., why would you purposefully alienate half of your audience? Boggles the mind.

Jose, God will give you his special reward in heaven. Thank you for showing what it means to be a wonderful human being. The world needs a million more like you!

Chef Jose is a very, very good man.

Lovely human. Hope he isn't really waiting for the Best Ivanka to show up. Has he really not watched her shill from the Oval Office, or listened to her pretend her child care bill for couples with high six figure incomes and the eventual Trump Tax Bill for billionaires only are family oriented, compassionate policy?

Being such an unrepentant mayo-pusher makes his own moral compass questionable at best...

Bravo!

You think he just needs a little more time? "I never give up on people." Dude, it is past time to give up. Seriously.

Exactly. Way past time.

Jose Andres, you're my hero!

I tear up every time I read an article about what this guy did for Puerto Rico. What am amazing role model. I also SO respect the fact that he stood up to Trump- when nobody in our government can seem to find the guts to do it. Why are private individuals having to do what our elected officials can't/won't do? PS: OF COURSE, the US's neglect of PR after the storm was racist. As is our failure to make them a state (if they want to be).

I had the fortune of meeting Jose Andres in 2000 in Spain where he was staging with fellow chef Ferran Adria. It wasn’t clear at the time how important both of these chefs would become in the subsequent decades, but it was obvious from Andres’ demeanor that he was a genuine person, committed to taking care of people. Reading about his relief efforts in Puerto Rico, I am pleased that there are people in the world who believe that poor people, people of color, people who don’t speak English, people who are disenfranchised and dying without electricity, still matter. Thank you, Chef.
