STAY AFTER COMMENCEMENT If you "graduated" high school, You're bound to be one who'll Hear language purists thrum, "Where's this scholar from?"

Rain is expected to turn over to snow in the wee hours... Or as Bruce Springsteen would sing, "the wee wee hours" (Brilliant Disguise)

I don't like to show my age, but I have many "interesting" memories of New York: When people burned piles of leaves in their front yards in the fall- When bus drivers made change for the bus (and you bought tokens for the subway)- When benches at bus stops were made out of wood- When Macy's and Bloomingdale's sold fabric and yarn- When you could play skeeball in Times Square- When you could smoke in movie theatres, at work, and on planes!!- When Miss Subway reigned in the subway- Also, when nobody had a car in high school or took out a loan for college...

The cute little piece about the cute little bar modeled somehow after the old Time-Life watering holes fails to mention an actual similarity: the expense account prices.

I am waiting for the day HQ finally starts having advertising - can anyone suggest what the cpm is for 15-30 seconds of the full attention of over 1 million people who are probably a very affluent demographic?
N. Smith (New York City)
OK. I could answer all of the HQ New York Trivia questions correctly -- but never heard of HQ Trivia or Scott Rogowsky (is he the one with beard in the picture?)...do I still get a prize?
Freddie (New York NY)
N. Smith. you got me beat! I've even parodied Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" several times, and couldn't answer the Brooklyn neighborhood question. But on the brighter side, ask me anything you want about impact of the new Trump tax code on New York residents, I'm sure I'll get an A-minus, at least. :)
N. Smith (New York City)
Freddie -- Forget Jay-Z, and keep on writing your great riffs....In my book, YOU'RE the prize!
Luis Gonzalez (Brooklyn)
Trump loves picking low hanging fruit.

That's all he can reach with his stubby little hands...
Billy from Brooklyn (Hudson Valley, NY)
Luis-- Yup, it will play very well to his base. Fear and racism. Of course the other side of the immigration issue only showcases parents of slain immigrant soldiers, or DACA children attending college etc. We the public have to see thru both sides and reach a solution. We do want to secure our borders and have immigrants follow legal guidelines--but we also cannot close our borders to particular races and religions. The "know nothing" party should be a thing of the past. Our cooler and sensible heads need to prevail.
Concernicus (Hopeless, America)
Billy...So you DO want our borders sealed? You want us to decide who gets in. You require them to follow our rules regarding who gets in. We set the rules, they must follow the rules. Ethnic background, race, and religion have nothing to do with it. Welcome to the club, my friend. That is what many of us are demanding. Yet, we are branded as racists for not liking "brown people."
