Rainbow

This image is portraying the end of 2017 being faded with the start of 2018. As we go on, everyone starts to judge people more and more and be more negative about everything, that is the black portion of the rainbow. I think that to get the more colorful portion of our year, the rainbow, brighter we can go into things with an open mind. We need to be kinder and not worry what other people think to make our own rainbow brighter. We contribute to our own rainbow darkening as well as society’s rainbow as a whole. If I were to represent the year as a whole with one image it would be a group of all different people, from different races, staring up and looking at our half black, half color rainbow. This would be a good representation because we need to reflect on all that has happened this year, the good and the bad.

I think that this picture shows that bad things happened this year, but also good things came out of it. If I were to represent this year with an illustration, it would probably look the same.

I think that this picture is an accurate depiction of how the year of 2017 has gone so far. Nations are on the brink of war, people are dying for worthless causes and the city of Flint is still living without fresh water. The government is back to helping the 1% of people that they accurately represent and global warming is pushing species to the brink of extinction. There were many horrible things that occurred in 2017, with commercial-like breaks of happiness in between. If I could represent this year with a single picture, It would be a black and red plaid shirt. The black representing the bad and the red representing the good. This is an accurate representation to me because I feel that we had good mixed in. People this year were able to pull the good out of the bad and look on the positive side of the issues we’ve faced.

In this picture I see a half rainbow.  I feel that this image is saying that 2017 has ups and downs.  Maybe the black represents the bad and the rainbow represents the bad.  If I could represent the world in one picture it would be crazy.  There is so much bad in this world, and not enough good.  People should appreciate the good in the world and not dwell on the bad in the world.

I believe that this picture is showing us weather we want things to turn out great with color or just to sit in darkness.

I believe that this image is portraying the year of 2017 in a negative way. We had a lot of loss this year, a lot of horrors took place all across the world. These things outshone a lot of the good things that happened this year. There is so much hate in the world these days, no one is able to get along and people search for the negativity in everything and everyone. There is little kindness to spare these days, and it's a shame that we live in the world we do. It makes me sad to see that we are headed towards a life that is filled with unhappiness and darkness. People need to be kinder and express more love and compassion towards others, so that they can reverse the rainbow and make the world a brighter place. If I were to depict this year with an illustration I would do something that focused on the good things that happened this year, the positive things that helped make our world and society a better place.

In this image it is showing for 2017 has been filled with bad issues that all of the good or positive ones are covered up due to the wrong doings. In the news this day and age the news states more about bad information than good situations. The message is stating if we keep up with the wrong doings in life soon all of the good in the world be soon be gone.

I think that darkness is not overtaking the rainbow, but the light of the rainbow is slowly pushing back the darkness of all the bad things that happened this year. There were a lot of bad things that happened in 2017 but this picture is showing that there was hope and happiness in 2017 as well. The picture shows that where darkness lurks, there is always a rainbow hiding underneath. What I mean by that is something good can always be made out of something bad. I think that this image is spot on with today's world and the stuff that goes on in it.

Many terrible, terrible things have happened over the past year that we may not ever forget. Even though we may find happiness in some of the experiences we have had, as a nation, many catastrophic events have concerned many people. This photo actually depicts this year pretty well because of this and it seems as though year after year, it keeps getting worse and we are finding it harder and harder to remember the good things that happen in the year.

The picture seemed that it used to be beautiful and lively. The rainbow symbolizes the year and hopes. The darkness for what happened through this year has been taking over the rainbow. All the bad things that the hurricanes and the terrorist attacks have done. If I had to represent a photo for the year I would use a grave yard but a little girl looking for hope, she is still smiling. even if the ghouls and monsters are coming out of the graves she still looks for a light.

What I think this image is saying is that 2017 was a very sad year and a lot of happiness was lost because of all that happened from the killings and the hurricanes. If I had to illustrate a picture that represents 2017 it would be like this rainbow because 2017 was a time for a lot of sadness and not a lot of joy.

I see the rainbow fighting against the blackness, but I don’t see it winning or losing, it is stuck. I also don’t see this as a representation of 2017 but rather the fight for LGBT+ rights. Each year more countries legalize same-sex marriage, however this year America showed the world that these rights are not always guaranteed for its citizens. As of now transgender people are being kicked out of the military, and not all states have gender neutral bathrooms. Not to mention most of Trump’s staff is anti-LGBT+ and so far he seems to be too. But we haven’t lost and hopefully we won’t either because when you take away the rights of one, you have an open door to take rights away from anyone.

I believe this picture is telling us darkness is taking over, due to the negative impact over the year, however I do believe this year has been rough but not all of it has been bad.

In this image there is a black darkness covering up the colorful rainbow. Today there is so much hatred rather than love and happiness. In 2017 there were many people's lives taken and no one can agree with something so there is controversy and hate being spread. I believe that if we keep living like this, there won't be any more happiness and no one will ever be able to get along. The image tells me that things are becoming worse instead becoming better. This picture makes me sad because I don't want to live in this kind of world where it's all dark and unhappy.

I believe that the darkness is not overtaking the rainbow, but that the light of the rainbow is slowly pushing back the darkness of all of the negative things that have happened this year. Sure, a lot of bad things have happened in 2017, but this picture depicts hope for the future and the resistance of hope and happiness against oppression and wrongdoing. See, behind the rainbow where multicoloured light is trying to break through the clouds. Soon, the clouds will clear away, and there will be hope widespread once again. Finally, the picture shows that where darkness lurks, there is always a rainbow hiding underneath, where even the most optimistic can see only darkness.

This image of the colorful rainbow being consumed by the pitch blackness is a very accurate representation of 2017. For me personally, it was a decent year with many ups and downs. But overall, 2017 makes the saying “it’s gonna get worse before it gets any better” come to life. There have been so many negative events happening in this world, it becomes painfully overwhelming. The dominance of the black in the rainbow depicts the countless accusations of sexual harassment, the gun violence, the terrorist attacks, the natural disasters, the climate change, the threats of nuclear war, and the list goes on. The little bit of color left in the rainbow portrays the little bit of peace and humanity that is left in this world. If that black continues to spread over the rainbow, there will be nothing but darkness just like if more terrible events continue to happen in this world, the following years will be nothing but darkness. This doesn’t mean that there are no positive occurrences out there that are trying to keep this crumbling world together because there are, just not enough. There will never be a time where we will live in a pure and moral world of rainbows and unicorns and sunshine. The darkness will always linger around. That’s why we need to make sure that even though we cannot escape the darkness and negativeness completely, we burden them with the colorful events of peace and humanity next year, the year after, and for however long this world may last.

This image is a great representation of 2017. In the image it shows a rainbow turning into black. To me this means that the real world no longer matters. If we see a rainbow now we either post it or ignore it, we don't appreciate it.
