I really hope this is a success. I admired and enjoyed every minute of Manhattan which is as and Rachel was fantastic in that (so was everyone but she was really great). We are also big fans of Amy Sherman-Palladino's work and we were very disappointed when Bunheads was cancelled. I just hope this one doesn't meet the same fate. It's not so much fun when you get into a show and then they pull it.

What a wonderful show -- acting, script, everything! What a joy to be reminded of all the greats of my childhood: Red Skelton, Bob Newhart, Carol Burnett (I assume that Sophie Lenon's Queens cleaning lady is a hat tip to Carol's Charwoman) and such wonderful New York figures as Jane Jacobs (after whom I am named), who shaped the City into what it is today. The next season cannot come too soon.

This show is delicious ... Rachel Brosnahan as Midge is a perfect fit (like Lauren Graham as Lorelei) ... thank you Amy Sherman-Palladio for creating wonderful worlds, with smart, dizzying, fun, rueful, complicated women at the center. Just when we need it most.

She is excellent. A breath of fresh air. The pilot was promising although somewhere in the second episode things started to go down until they picked up again in the sixth episode. I have been following her since House of Cards and am a huge fan of her talent. Will definitely watch any show she's on. Kudos also to Joel (Michael Zegen) who is just as excellent an actor (Rescue Me, Boardwalk Empire).

What a shame there are no Jewish actresses in show business. If the show was called "The Wonderful Mrs. Wong" or "The Remarkable Mrs. Rodriguez" the casting of Rachel Brosnahan would make heads explode all across America.

Saw the pilot and loved it. Last week I watched all the episodes over two nights. I worked in New York for ten years and get get the picture. The plot, script and acting is outstanding. It was kismet that the producers found Rachael to play Midge. She was perfect. Glad to hear that there will be a second season. How will they top the first?

Maisel is hilarious fun!

Loved Rachel in House of Cards and loved Doug too; thought she might be his salvation, but, of course, that's not how that show rolls... Can't wait to watch Mrs. Maisel.

Last week, saw the Times encouraging review of "The Marvelous..." so we watched the pilot and 1st episode. Fine article about lead actress, brava, but the show itself? zeitgeist-wit and grotesque caricature anti-Semitism, no pacing [all shrill/bellow] ... no dimensional characterization, no chorus POV ... Must NOT see TV!

I have been screening all of the Seasons of "House of Cards." Rachel did an excellent job during her arch on the show. "House of Cards" is one of those "new, modern" shows that goes thru a lot of characters and even brings one back just for a scene or two. Instead of banishing Kevin Spacey for his behavior, perhaps his punishment, penance, treatment, therapy, etc., should be to make him work out the contract and the show in public. "As Frank Underwood" he is already the man we love to hate. There would be a lot of justice and synergy in letting us see how Mr. Spacey works off his disgrace or misbehavior in the public eye and spotlight. Part of the problem with this banishments is that we, the public, are not going to see how these men try or attempt to redeem themselves, or if they cannot, will not or do not. The whole idea of putting citizens in stocks, etc. was so that public scrutiny and vilification would have to be endured. If we hung Rose, Lauer and the lot of them out to dry in Times Square, a greater corrective lesson would be learned and a greater purpose accomplished.

Again slinging Bryn Mawr around as instant cred for braininess. This character did not go there and Betty Draper did not go there. The current president of Harvard went there.

The pilot just blew us away. One of the best things on TV in the last year. Laugh-out-loud funny but there's an underlying warmth to it -- same quality as "Moonstruck." The writers are kind to their characters. The writing, sets, costumes and music are a continual treat, but it only really works because Brosnahan can pull it off. And the ensemble is perfectly cast. See the pilot and you see why Amazon immediately bought two seasons.

Two Seasons? Yippee! I love it.

She's the real deal. Wonderful.

Fearlessness, dedication, supernova-like intensity, brains, beauty--and a fiery but compassionate leftist to boot. Easily the best performance on HoC, with work so thrilling that it pushed the writers to create the show's greatest & most shattering subplot. Even the sky is not the limit... But be sure to get to the Cloisters, Rachie (her Twitter handle): it will definitely transport you. No question but that you'd be an exceptional Eloise, but what actor could they possibly find to match you playing Abelard??

Saw the pilot months ago & loved it! An original ... Couldn't quite put my finger on who the main actress was. When I found out it was Brosnahan, who totally broke my heart as Rachel in House of Cards, I was astounded. She's an amazing actress. Can't wait to watch the series.

I watched "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' randomly the other evening, not knowing anything about the lead actress/ comedian. She was fabulous. Almost from the get go, you knew where it was going, as her off hand comments to her husband were funnier and more authentic than anything he "wrote". Can't wait for more episodes!

We watched the pilot without knowing that Amy Sherman-Palladino and husband were the producers. My wife said halfway through, "This sounds like the Gilmore Girls." Which caused both of us to pay more attention. We were quickly caught up in the dialogue and marveled at the Palladino genius and the extremely talented acting of Brosnahan. This is real acting and directing that quickly rises to the top of the theatrical world - but will most likely fail to appease the commercial wonks who make decisions on what rates an award, i.e. The Gilmore Girls - Emmyless. We're looking forward to future episodes and more work by Brosnahan and the Palladino Genius Machine.

Nice to know that a shiksa can make it in on the Upper West Side, pretending to be Jewish. You think Ivanka could be credible?

What a pleasure. Funny, charming and no murder or ambulance in sight. Smart woman who survives: refreshing.

It's too bad that the show itself is a dud. Could not make it through the pilot episode.
DH (California)
Really? Once I saw the pilot, I made it a habit to start checking for the release. Different strokes!
Restaurant Maven (NYC)
You’re one of the few who felt that way, as it was, by far, the most well liked and well reviewed of the pilots that Amazon has released thus far. But heck, everyone’s entitled to their opinion.
Marianne (LA)
A lot of the dialogue between the characters is entertaining, but the story, through episode 7, is flat. I did not feel anyone's pain or joy. Joel was ridiculous.

It's so exciting when an actor -- a REAL actor -- comes on the scene, and you want to find everything she's done and watch for everything new. I thought she was brilliant in Manhattan (how did WGN get such a great cast together??) and she's definitely the "Magnificent" in this new series. There's not much good news out there these days, but IMO she's a real standout.
Mark H (NYC)
She's the best thing in the show!
