I dressed up as Pusheen Cat this year (basically a famous Internet cartoon grey tabby cat). My dog was wearing her 'Boo' Halloween sweater, while my cat was wearing a costume in which there was a little mouse that was riding her on a saddle. The most creative dog costume I've seen was on a flyer for a dog walk and one dog won the costume contest. This dog was wearing a Dancing With the Stars inspired costume, with a feather boa and everything. I dress up on Halloween because I've been doing it since I was little, and it make me reminisce about the past, as it gives me nostalgia. I like dressing my pets up because they look absolutely ridiculous in their costumes, and they instantly make me exultant. Also, I personally don't think you can ever really be too old for trick-or-treating. As long as you enjoy yourself on that night, that's all that matters.

This year, I was Kevin Durant (Basketball Player) and my friend was a referee. I went out trick-or-treating and I'm so glad I did. Everyone should go trick-or-treating because who would not want to walk around with friends and get free candy?

I love dressing up. It's super fun and I like creating new creative costumes each year. I don't care if I'm too old to trick-or-treat. And now that I have a dog I love involving him. This year I dressed up as Daphne from the scooby doo gang and I tried dressing my dog as the mystery machine (he just didn't have the looks to be scooby). He didn't like it so I took it off for trick-or-treating. Next year I'll find a better costume for him. But I love creating costumes that include my pets and i love seeing other people do it too. It's really cute and interesting. My dog is my partner in crime, so he's my partner in halloween too!

Hello. My name is Madison and I am a freshman in highschool. I don't think there is a specific age that someone should ever stop trick-or-treating. Personally, my family and I do 'matching' costumes every year. This year, we all dressed up as the cast of Monsters Inc. I was Sulley, my niece was Boo, my sister was Mike, and my parents weren't anything because we ran out of ideas. My parents actually told me that I was too old to go out for Halloween. I responded with, "You think I am going to pass up a time where I can get free candy? Uh-uh." I would NEVER pass up a chance to get free candy. Not until the day I die. My dog normally dresses up, but this year he didn't. Last Halloween, my family and I dressed up as Toy Story characters. He was the little slinky dog and my family just chose different characters to dress up as. I don't think many people will agree with me, but me walking up to people's doors as a 14-year-old, I get judged so much. I feel the judgement as soon as someone opens up the door. However, it's all in good fun, so it's fine!

My name is Max and I'm 15 year old sophomore in highschool and I believe you are never too old to trick or treat! Of course I am going to dress up for Halloween, and I'm going to keep it that way until the day I die! I love Halloween and everything about it. In the past few years dog costumes have become very popularly, in fact in New York they have a dog costume contest/parade. In the article it says, “This year, the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade drew 500 canines and an estimated 25,000 humans to the East Village”. This year I was a hippie! My dog sparky dresses up every year as well, last year he was a shark and this year he was a little ninja. I have seen countless amounts of dog costumes but the coolest one I have ever seen was a Dotson dressed up as a grill with hot dogs on it. However the coolest human costume I have seen was someone dressed up as IT the clown, it was realistically scary! Remember you're never too old to dress up, and neither is your dog! Happy Halloween.

I completely agree with you. For some reason, the older you get, the more "cool" it is to not dress up, and if you do, you're looked down upon as a "geek." But no one should feel like they can't dress up simply because they're afraid of the embarrassment or shame. No one is ever too old to dress up for Halloween. So go out and have a blast this Halloween!

I agree, and I love your reasoning!

I don't have any pets, but it is my birthday , but I won't be dressing up but I will be passing out candy to kids till about 8:30, the funniest costume I have seen , was i seen these dress as ice cube and Chris tucker from Friday, and yeah that was kinda creative and the best pet I have seen was a dog dressed as a firefighter.
Jasmine Brown (Virginia Beach VA)
The funniest costume i seen this year was on Instagram where a lot of parents were dressing their children up as celebrities such as Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. Also some pets dressed up as cartoon characters that was kinda creative. This year for Halloween i am going to be the princess Jasmine, because my name is Jasmine. That's pretty cool.I will be trick-or-treating with my nieces in nephew.

I think that animal costume is out of this world XD

This year for Halloween i'm not dressing up. I just feel like there is no point for me to dress up for Halloween, unless my friends or somebody has a Halloween party and we have to dress up. Friday I went to a party and dressed up as a naughty nurse, my costume was very cute, but it's not appropriate to wear to go out trick-or-treating. A lot of people from my neighborhood dress up each year, but I don't see many people have their dogs in costumes.

this year for Halloween i will be an zipper zumbi. i will be wearing an all white outfit with a cut up shirt with fake blood, handprints ect. then for my face i have a makeup kit that i have to make myself more like ah " put together" step by step . even tho i thought of the idea last minute i thought it would be really cool. the most craziest costume i have ever seen would be somebody dressed as barney .
Harsen L (Wilmington, NC)
For this Halloween I will be dressing up as a rice farmer. I got a Chinese sun hat at crosswinds in 8th grade (2-3 years ago) and never had a use for it. My favorite costume I saw were some kids (probably 7-9 years old) dressed up as Cheech and Chong. In my neighborhood last year, there was a dachshund dressed up as a hot dog with another dachshund dressed up as a German sausage.

I don't have any pets or a halloween party to go to so i most likely will not be dressing up this holiday season but i will get some candy and participate in the eating of the candy. The most creative outfits I have seen are people dressing up as celebrity's mostly on Instagram. Iv'e also seen people on social media dress up their baby's and pets in such cute coustumes.

I have not see any craziest animal costumes.

This year my dogs will be dressing up as a hot dog and a hamburger. I cannot promise that they will stay on for more than five minutes though. My dogs, Cleopatra and Spartacus, are West Highland White Terriers. They came from the same breeder in separate litters, but they may as well be siblings. Cleo and Sparty have never been separated since from the time we bought them four years ago. They love to wrestle and mess around with each other, but they absolutely will not tolerate the other wearing a costume. We've tried dressing my dogs up before, but much to my family's dismay, Sparty and Cleo have cleverly discovered how to take off each other's costumes. I can already predict what will happen this year: Spartacus will be the hot dog and Cleopatra will be the hamburger, but Spartacus will take one look at Cleo in her costume and proceed to rip it off her. Cleo will follow his lead and pull his costume off after escaping her layers of sesame bun and burger patty.

My dog and I will be dressing up for Halloween. Halloween may seem like a useless holiday to most people, but for me Halloween is a night of fun and memories. I remember when I was younger I used to go trick-or-treating with neighbors. I would be so excited to wear my costume and get candy. I have so many memories of my friends and I getting scared. This year, I will be celebrating Halloween with my younger brother. He is so excited to get candy and dress up. I cannot wait to make more memories with him on Halloween night.

I dressed up for work the Friday before Halloween. I probably will not dress up on Halloween night. I do look forward to passing out candy and seeing other people in cool costumes.

this year i am dressing up and so is my dog i am being super woman and my dog is being candy corn
Sharice Brown (Locust Grove HIgh School)
This Halloween, I will not be dressing up in any costume because my dressing up days are over. I feel like i'm too old to be dressing up and going trick or treating. People tend to look at older kids that are dressed up as weird and many people believe our generation is all about pranks and parties. So if we come to their door they might automatically assume we are up to no good or ask us "why are you guys not at a party or something?"If I had a group of friends that wanted to dress up in masks and go out to a party, that'll probably be my excuse as to dress up but not this year. Although, I would like to hand out candy to see all the little children dressed in cute costumes and see if i ever dressed as the when I was younger. I also like giving back to the community.
cullen (georgia)
i will be going out to someones house for Halloween not really to old to go trick or treating i just want to. i mean who needs candy anyway.
Laniya R (locust grove ga)
i don't know what i'm doing on Halloween maybe go out with a few friends and the most creative Halloween costume i have seen is the toy soldier from toy story.
Kyla Watkins (Locust Grove, GA)
I am 14 and don't really feel like full-on dressing up this year. I may wear a few accessories, but most likely nothing more. On the other hand, I'm more focused on my younger brother and my dog's costume. I will be hanging with my friends, though and we may still trick-or-treat for the candy and the memories.
Kalp Patel (In USA)
No I think that I am way too old enough to be dressing up to go get candy, but I am passing out candy to everybody.
Emily (Georgia)
I will be dressing up for Halloween with a group of my friends this year. I love dressing up on Halloween with my friends because it's always fun when we doing dumb things together.
Emily Grffiths (Locust Grove High)

Though it is not Halloween yet, teen-kind has just celebrated the first "Halloweekend" of 2017. I could not go to any parties, so did not have the chance to wear a costume, but after seeing photos of other girls in their costumes on Facebook, my mom expressed her gladness that I did not follow suit by dressing up in short shorts, a deep v-neck, or a crop top. I was upset that she felt that way and wished she had given those girls more of a chance. As Mean Girls most eloquently put it, "Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it". Being a teenager means the endless tug-of-war between self-discovery and growth while striving not to be condemned by adults, society, or worse, your peers. Move too slow and you are immature or no fun. Move too fast and you are a slut with no ambitions or self-respect. Halloween gives teenage girls a night to experiment, and if they so choose, to be more scantly-clad or flashy for the sake of a costume. For many people Halloween is an opportunity to "be someone else for a night"; this should extend to teenage girls. Girls deserve a one-night break from the circling hawks that snatch us up as soon as we get too far from the pack. And, maybe, if teenage girls were given a break more often, we wouldn't have to use a holiday and a costume as an excuse for self-discovery.

Lulu, my five-pound, cute-as-a-button Yorkie will not wear a bow for more than 60 seconds much less inconvenience herself with a diorama strapped to her back all day whether it’s for the prestigious Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade or not. What a shame too since Lulu could be so many things for an East Village parade that would surely land her on NYT’s top picks given Lulu’s teacup size and abnormal level of cuteness. Hats off to the owners of Harley, Giupetto, Gianna, and Penelope. Lulu does not sit inside NYC sightseeing buses or saltwater aquariums. Lulu would be the one laying on the street on her back getting tummy rubs from complete strangers. Halloween 2014 Lulu did suffer through going as Piglet with me when I was Winnie the Pooh but that was only because the one sweater on earth she will wear just so happened to be identical to Piglet’s. Will she or I dress up this year? Me, yes, but for Lulu, it will depend on if the costume is non-itchy, does not require her to put anything on her head or hinder her in any way from relaxing on the couch. The best pet costume I’ve ever seen was a Yorkie dressed up as Chewbacca. Its hair was slicked back like Chewy’s and everything. I dream of the day Lulu will let me do that to her. A close second would have to be the “Woof on Wall Street”. That’s pretty clever, Finn.

My dog and I will be dressing up for Halloween this year. I am going to dress up as my favorite football player. His name is Antonio Brown and he is on the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are my favorite team. My dog is going to dress up as a hot dog. It's a cute costume. The craziest costume is when someone dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow. He looked exactly like him and I thought it was actually Johnny Depp.

This year I will be dressing up, but my dog will not be dressing up though. This year I will be dressing up as a baseball player. The most creative costume I have ever seen was by a dog. The owners of the dog dyed the dog pink and the next year they dyed the dog purple. To me I think that this was the most creative costume done by far either by a human or a dog.

This year I am not quite sure what be for halloween parties. I will either be a unicorn or a snowman. I will probably wear a tutu with those outfits. The most creative costume I've seen was someone at my church made a costume from minecraft. The funniest costume I have seen was a half man, half woman costume. Finally, the craziest costume I have seen was a dog dressed as a cat. I think dressing up for halloween is really fun, especially if you will hang out with your friends and have a party.
