Somehow, no matter the source, spitting water on, especially a child, doesn't seem funny - if that's what Granny found humorous, it's probably good she kept her humor to herself.....!!

Beautifully written and entertaining story. Except I don't think she had a reserved sense of humor, but a little warped! Reminds me of the Woody Allen joke of the rabbi "who was said to have inspired many pogroms with his sense of humor." Oy! Glad you turned out so well from all indications.
