no less than the NYPD says they lie always: actions speak louder than words do... and the NYPD still won't allow dash cams in the cars of the largest police force on earth? only one possible reason for this. the NYPD also tried to block precinct cameras AND body cameras, yet my friends who are police and every cop l've ever seen all agree that you must be breaking laws if you don't want cameras filming you. l believe the 100% of cops who say 100% of cops break laws. are you now saying all cops LlED about this? plus, bad cops are a SYMPTOM. bad prosecutors are the PROBLEM, which created all bad politicians and bad cops. meanwhile, the NYPD has said its cops are all bad and falsified umpteen False Police Reports- - - - - like the NYPD said about the cop who choked Garner. the NYPD said the cop broke serious laws, but they were misdemeanors and required N0 Grand Jury the DA could "blame" for not indicting the dirty cops. the sole reason the DA didn't cuff the cop, was there isn't an honest DA in this nation. not one. (HEY, when will the press ask Cy Vance why he meets with the attorneys of only RlCH clients, and why does he do this PUBLlC work in the dark, behind closed doors?)

Judge Weinstein's ruling is correct . See Stinson v City of New York, USDC, SDNY, 10 CV 4228 (RWS), a class action settled Sept. 2017 for $75,000,000.00 in favor of Stinson and all class members, where NYC Police Officers were issuing false summons and making false arrests for years against African-Americans and Latinos in order to meet a quota system imposed upon them by their precinct commanders, top NYPD brass, and top NYC officials. Top NYC bigoted officials wanted to advertise that they were "making the city safer". The cops were told they'd be fired or punished if they didn't comply. Class members-NYC residents who suffered this kind of treatment, had until 9/6/17 to file a claim for money compensation in this lawsuit, but if you believe you are a class member so affected by the NYPD, you should ask for extension of time to file if you did not know about this. Hector Cordero's case sounds exactly like Stinson v City of New York. NYPD is opposed to reform. Judge Shira Sheindlin issued an order in the stop and frisk cases requiring NYPD to wear cameras to learn what occurs during an arrest. What happened? NYC appealed her order to Second Circuit where biased Clerk Wolfe stayed the order. NYC & NYPD then made false criticisms against Judge Sheindlin. NYC Mayor (de Blasio) claimed no money to buy the body cameras. The same thing will happen in Cordero case. Judge will be personally criticized. His order will be stayed or overruled. No money for police reforms.

Jack Weinstein is not only one of the longest serving federal judges in history, he wrote the book on evidence. He has shown antipathy to Police accounts of events for years, but in the recent case he shows that he and not the police knows the difference between a suspicion or hunch and probable cause. One more thing: 22 hours of overtime!

Your Honor, Oh Spare Us! We cannot endure these disillusionments! Do cops lie? Next, you will be asking if Donald Trump lies! And after that, whether cops AND our intellectually challenged President lie routinely and as a matter of course! The (quote Tillerson) so ardently deflects with a salesman's "Merry Christmas," and now you are suggesting that maybe there isn't any Santa Clause! Alright, so I used too many exclamation points. On second thought, no I didn't either. And looking over that phrase "so ardently deflects," I could add "by the twilight's last gleaming.

I've managed to avoid jury duty all my life by saying truthfully during voir-dire that I don't believe a word a police officer says, ever.

Testilying is in the lexicon because of the prevalence of the police lying in court. Isn't how to lie on the stand a course taught at the police academy? I ask because it has been overlooked in police officers testimony for so many years that you have to believe it is part of the curriculum. Plus the department defends it by claiming that police officers don' lie at any greater rate than the general public....that says it all about how the department views officers lying in reports or on the witness stand when someone's life are liberty are on the line.

The number of police lies in official reports that are uncovered when the dashboard camera records are released is astounding. The classic video of the guy shot 15 times by a rogue cop, where the cop and his buddies all asserted that the guy advanced and was armed is a case in point. Were those cops ever reprimanded? Did they pay for their perjury? This is squarely the issue that sparks the NFL protests, and this judge is to be lauded for trying to end the double standard that our society has too long tolerated.

This will go nowhere, regardless of the results. The police lie every day in court, so frequently it's called "testilying." I didn't give it that name... those who practice it and witness it did. I rest my case.

New Yorks finest--working the system as usual.

Good! It is long overdue . . . centuries overdue.

It's about time. This is the type of investigation the police unions are likely to fight tooth and nail, but hopefully Judge Weinstein will be able to help make sure the justice system lives up to its motto of justice for all.

We have be best system of "Justice" that money can buy. The lawyers who advertise on highway billboards are not the ones with whom White House staffers have been "lawyering up."

I've never forgotten how in small NH town where I was given a speeding ticket I felt I did not deserve when I was 19 and took the trouble to go court to defend myself. The officer lied about everything. About his approaching me when he was parked perpendicular to the road, about the placement and position of his car (important in the way-back days when radar guns were bolted to the side of the police car between the doors), the traffic and weather conditions. The judge simply replied. "Why would he lie? As an officer he has nothing to lose whereas losing will cost you money?" And that is basis for all police testimony, that they are trusted officers of the court and you are conniving liar. Never mind the goals, incentives, and "face" and reputations of the officer or the "revenue enhancement" motivations of a town. They will never, ever, lie in court. Yes, this was years and years ago. But as you tell it is a permanent memory.
