Mr. Trump. You are advocating "Made in America". We assume that this includes American foreign policy. Why then are Saudi Arabia and Israel making American foreign policies according to their own interests, which are in conflict with the interests of the American people?
Greg (Lyon France)
One man's "terrorist" is another man's "freedom fighter".
The use of the terms depends on your political agenda.

Well he's done a great job dealing with North Korea, so lets move onto the next nuclear threat.
Greg (Lyon France)
Perhaps it time that Donald Trump learned the definition of "terrorism". Perhaps then he just then crawl back under a rock.

Under the definition the USA is the world leader in conducting "terrorism" (Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden) and the world leader in sponsoring/supporting "terrorism" (Gaza, Chile, Nicaragua, South Vietnam, etc. etc.).

Allowing Donald Trump to make unilateral decisions on something as tenuous as this nuclear deal with Iran is reckless, This is the most ignorant President in history. Who could allow him to start messing with an agreement that insures at least a modicum of stability in this volatile part of the world?
The dysfunction of this presidency is breathtaking and, as I said, reckless.

Refuse to submit to American diktat? ---> vengefulness

DJT you're such a tough dude! If your daddy beats you when you're a child then you learn to beat your children. And so in and so on. Headed back to the dark ages!

Iran poses little threat to US interests. Iran isn't suicidal and therefore won't bomb Israel or Saudi Arabia. Iran's "never again" is a Sunni-led Iraq (which is an existential threat). That's why Iran's goal is to be the power in its region. Iran is not North Korea - though even that nut-led nation probably isn't stupid enough to nuke its neighbors. Stepping into Iran's shoes for a moment what superpower is a threat to its existence? The good-old USA. The Obama administration had a pretty smart doctrine: "We are the biggest most-powerful dog on the block. Everyone knows it. Why not use it to do some good?" Trump's doctrine seems to involve pulling down his pants to flaunt a certain turgidity. The Hostage Crisis is almost 38 years old. We are as far from the Hostage Crisis as it is from Pearl Harbor. It's time to move on.

Personally I despise Iran as a tinpot nation with alot of bark and no bite. I am in favor of constant pressure on them at every turn. However, they are our best bet to stabilize Iraq and Syria. The counterpoints is our continued support of the Saudis and Israel. We can quiet the ME with this arrangement. Our surrogates will fight the insurgencies, not us.

With the Arabs at each others throats and the Saudi line of ascension to the throne newly subject to adventurism, Iran remains the one stable country in the Middle East and rather than trying to destabilize it by not living up to the letter and spirit of the nuclear accord, the US should be seeking to cooperate with Iran on a number of issues of mutual interest.

"Mr. Trump actively argued for isolating Iran, telling “more than a dozen foreign leaders” that they needed to “strip terrorists of their funding, territory and ideological support, and stop doing business with nations that sponsor terrorism, especially Iran.” "

Where was Mr. Trump when the USA government was providing funding and idealogical support of terrorists in Central and South America? Where was Mr. Trump when prominent Americans were providing funding and idealogical support of the terrorists in Northern Ireland?

Apparently no one has explained to Mr. Trump that if he breaks it he has to pay for it. We have many issues with Iran, but for the moment the issues are not nuclear since by all accounts the Iran deal is working. Perhaps Mr. Trump should give us all a break by leaving diplomacy to the diplomats.

A foreign country has called upon the US Congress to use its economic might to punish Iran.

Why?

It is because Iran is stubbornly steadfast in opposing the policies of that same foreign country, a so-called "ally" of the US. Iran is being punished for supporting those who are resisting human rights abuse and violations of international law.

In short, the US Congress is aiding and abetting a criminal.

The Iranian regime's ideology is far more dangerous than Wahabism or ISIS. It is true they rule over a more moderate and educated population but the regime believes in long term pragmatic march towards exporting Islam. Having been raised under their rule, I believe they are truly a wolf in sheep's skin. Wishing them to be a sheep or treating them like a sheep will not change their nature. As long as Islamic Republic is a player in middle east there will be no peace and people will continue to die from Gaza to Yemen.

Hasn´t Mr Trump been told that it is Saudi Arabia the main responsible for terrorism worldwide ? And after Assad what ? Lets defeat ISIS first and then discuss the future of the secular country in a pragmatic way . I would rather have Iran as a friend , with its history and culture than Saudi Arabia with its religious fanaticism and intolerance. But, of course as all with the US, it is
about Money.

President Rouhani is promoting normalized relations with the West, including the United States, because that's what he believes is essential for peaceful co-existence and because that's what his people want in order to live normal lives.

Benjamin Netanyahu is promoting conflict with Iran because he believes his so-called "existential threat from Iran" to be essential to his remaining in power and because he needs the Iranian diversion as cover to extend his colonization project in the West Bank.

US foreign policy in the ME is bought and paid for by the government of Israel, using AIPAC's control of the US Congress. These policies are in the interests of a handful of people in Israel. They are not in the interests of the American people, nor are they in the interests of world peace.

The US better save its little remaining international credibility, and military and financial resources to deal with North Korea instead.

Trump administration had to admit Iran is complying with the Nuclear deal's terms (even under intense pressure from Israel and Saudi allies). So trying to chip away at the deal to make Iran witdraw does not make sense. In the meantime North Korea is rapidly advancing its nuclear and missile programs under the protection of China.

I didn't vote for any American President to support Saudi Royal Imperialism and and the opportunity to start Word War Three. Especially not on the basis of Extreme Wahhabi Sunni Bigots feeling the need to exterminate Moderate Shia civilian populations.

"...in Hamburg, Germany, Mr. Trump actively argued for isolating Iran, telling “more than a dozen foreign leaders” that they needed to “strip terrorists of their funding, territory and ideological support, and stop doing business with nations that sponsor terrorism, especially Iran.”

But of course virtually all "Islamic" terrorists who have struck the West have been Sunnis influenced by Wahhabist Saudi Arabia, not primarily Shia Iran. And it has been the Saudis who, through money and personnel, have reshaped the mainstream forms of Islam in countries across the world towards their own more intolerant and chauvinistic practice. Iran has done nothing comparable.

So naturally, in our post-factual world the Saudis are Mr. Trump's best buddies and Iranians are demons.

The sanctions worked because we had many other countries willing to follow our lead when dealing with Iran's nuclear capabilities. Now, if we act, we act alone, which means that further sanctions will not be as onerous and Iran can continue with it's nuclear program because we broke the treaty. This is what happens when you send a petulant child to undue the hard work of adult diplomacy. No one wants to follow this man's lead, including this citizen.

Is there anything this president has touched that hasn't caused trouble??
