Unnecessary narrative when window opens for Mets: IT'S THE METS' TOWN!!
Which, in turn, when Mets (predictably) fail requires narrative retraction.

As soon as the Mets win more than one World Series in a three-year period you can run the former, otherwise, don't bother with the former and you don't need to run the latter.

Before we start comparing current Yankees to the greatest switch hitter of all time (you know who), let's remember; it's not how you start, it's how you finish.

I have been to old stadium four times Got #7 to sign his book I am thrilled doing hoorahs at the mix of young and veterans. When Sanchez returns look out as the pitching is the strong point to date

The Yankees will benefit by going the route of patience with young talent. This team's new strategy of resisting a quick fix is no guarantee of success. But there are no guarantees in baseball aside from pitching and defense keeping a team close enough to win. But this sport is not a sprint. How a team knows how to lose, which inevitably happens, is as important as winning. It is during those trying times that a team learns to believe in it's winning potential.

The yankees are back !!!!!

Steal???? They never owned it. The Mets are supposed to be contenders now and they can't even keep their team together. The only time the Mets slightly owned NYC was the mid-80s. Other than that this is a Yankee town

Headline should read Yankees take back the Thunder. Seeing this team this year is exciting and fun, something lacking in the Yankees for the last several years.

It's great to be a Yankee fan once more! Last year my wife and I called Aaron Judge "Frankenstein" because he seemed so huge in size, and mostly just struck out at the plate. But this year he's blossomed into a great slugger who's also a fine fielder with a great arm. Then "tiny" Torres has performed superbly in Didi's absence, and the new outfielders have shown some great talent, and Romine has been wonderful, although we still look forward to the return of Sanchez.

All and all, it looks like a great renewal for our beloved Yanks, and we thank Cashman, Girardi, and Steinbrenner for pulling so many rabbits out of their hats. It's fun to see this team play again. Let's hope it continues!

Cespedes has history of leg and hip problems. The Mets say they did not rush him back. Just sayin. You don't go to the restroom when Aaron Judge is up.

It was said about Judge's second home run, in the lead article, that it appeared if the short stop jumped, he may have caught it. I saw that one time having grown up in the Bronx. I was yet to be a teenager and attended a game at the old old Yankee Stadium back in the 1960s. I recall a ball that was hit like a rocket over the second baseman who may have been able to catch it but seemed to freeze. The ball began to rise and shortly cleared the rail, landing way up in the right center bleachers. My fellow fans went wild. The batter - Micky Mantle.

Saw Yogi golf an outside pitch, maybe 3 inches off the ground first baseman jumped up and it landed in the right field seats

Stolen. Wait until you see Dexter Fowler, Tyler Austin, Gleybar Torres Clint Frazier, and more. Where are we going to play them all? It's a candy store. And you didn't mention Montgomery. Kudos to Cashman.
