I think the marching band is planing a parade for the last football game of the season as it's nearly springtime (based on the grass' vibrant color). The deer, however, are startled by the overwhelming amount of noise so they decided to dart off into a nearby forest. What i think this photo is explaining how a marching band was trying to go through its usual route, or the route it was supposed to go and these deer got in the way. The band doesn't know what to do so they wait as the deer walk across the road. It seems like t takes awhile so they play their music for the deer. Those Axis deer were imported to Texas from India, so I have a yard full of them, but the flags in the background suggest these are back home in India. Cows get right of way there, so apparently the Axis do, too, when they move in herds, (which they do down here). As they're invasive pests, they're always in season - delicious.

I think this photo is a marching band playing music and doing their thing, and all of a sudden, some deer want to listen to the wonderful music. The deer don’t want to interrupt, so they just walk ahead of the band so they can walk beside them. I think these deer are magical and can understand human music. The band director is confused and calls the police, the reason he called the police is because he looked at the end of the deer's horde and it seemed to never end. When the police arrived they said they didn't see anything. Then the director told the band if they saw the deer, and they said yes. Then he told them the deer disappeared once they passed the road. The director signaled his band to continue marching. When they reached the deer, they walked right through them, then a man came out of nowhere and said he made a project image that projected moving deer. The man then said he wanted to see if the photo would look cool with real photoshop deer. He apologized for not warning them about it. Then he asked them to go back a little and he would take a photo. When the director saw the complete photoshop photo, he said it looked incredible and was pleased with the photographer decision to take their photo.
I think that in this picture on a beautiful spring morning, that there is a marching band playing music for everybody. But just then a wild pack of dear come in and hog the road. I think that a global issue for this is that their habitat is getting destroyed. With no habitat they need to resort to finding a new place to live. This is a very bad global issue and has to be stopped fast or else the whole country will overflow with dear and other animals too. In conclusion I think that this global issue is very bad and that it will get worse if we don’t do anything about it.

Just to add that it looks like a dignitary of some importance is being driven in a limousine toward the building or structure - perhaps a residence or embassy? I think that this is a picture of a closed road. I think that the original intention of closing the road was so that a marching band could perform. Then… while the marching band was just finishing setting up, a herd of deer came as if it was planned this way. And then they stole the show. Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh. Because of that, the marching band had to wait a bit to put on the show. I think that this picture was taken at the entrance to central park. If my guess to what this image is about is correct, this image connects to this global issue: overpopulated species in urban cities. Phoenix Park, Dublin Ireland? I know they have a large deer herd in the park and it certainly looks like a parade is about to start.
Somewhere in Britain, a parade is about to get started from a manor house with a deer park. The city has grown up around this manor house with the deer park. I'm thinking British Isles because it's not sunny and the grass is really green, and I think I've seen deer like this in a deer park there. They are not like the run of the mill American deer because they all have spots, even the one with the big rack. I don't see any initials of monarchs anywhere so I don't think it's a royal palace.

There is a herd of deer crossing the road in front of what seems to be a parade or some sort of celebration. But based of off the large group of people in the background, the streetlights, and the Indonesian flags, this might be a celebration for someone very important, maybe a leader of some sort. Also, the hats that the "marching band" is wearing that has the yellow stripe across, this is most likely the Indonesian honor guard. I don't think the honor guard was stopped by the deers for two reasons. One, because they are a good distance away from the deer, and two, because some of the people in the honor guard are sitting down. If it was stopped, they would still be standing because they would be in the midst of a very important person. This leads me to believe that they are waiting for the important person arrive. Also, the nice and clean street lamps and the cleanly cut grass on the sides makes me think that they got this area prepared for this person.

Based on the street lams and flags im guessing this takes place somewhere in Europe. That marching band seems to be waiting for the deer to pass and/or their show to start? After reading comments that the deer are photoshopped i'm not sure if i agree or not. On one hand its unusual to see that many deer passing down the road in such a neat line while on the other hand, the deer over the ditch seem to be leaping across it, and they have their own shadow which adds to its authenticity.

I'm taking a wild guess that the picture was taken near an entrance to Tivoli in Copenhagen. Tivoli is an amusement park with outdoor restaurants, animal acts, etc. Sort of a small scale Disneyland. The band would be an everyday sight there.

It looks like there was a parade but it had to be stopped because a bunch of deer were passing by and the people in the parade didn't want to get in there way. It looks like the deer may be migrating and they happened to get in the way of a parade forcing them to stop the parade. Its obvious the people stopped since the marching band are sitting on the street and they are information.
I think that there is a parade going on and their was a deer crossing and the people marching in the band had to stop the cars from passing or they are British army men who are stoping the cars for the deer to cross. their must be a trail of deer.

In this picture, It looks like people could be walking for a fundraiser and getting money for every mile they walk. The people looked shocked because they have never seen that many deer before. It kinda looks like it could be in China or a region around there because behind all the people there's a lot of cars. Those deer look like they could be white-tailed deer because of the spots on their back.

First a herd of deer moving as a group across a paved road in what seems to be a park. One of the deer has very tall antlers...seems different from the deer around here in the southern US. Could they be reindeer? The park is located in a city.... so beyond the gates are the traffic and traffic noise of the city flowing back and forth. That is, one end has deer on the move and the other end of the photograph has a modern city's traffic. In between, a band...some musical instruments seem to be on the ground at the feet of the waiting marchers. Behind the band, a group of mounted riders... so probably a military parade.

As a class we see a marching band (some students thought the may be British soldiers) stopped in the middle of a road. We know they are a band because we can see the gold tubas and other wind instruments on the ground. They have stopped because there is a herd of deer crossing the road. We believe it is a big herd because some of the band members have decided to sit on the side of the road. There seems to be a lot of traffic and many more people in the background. For that reason, we thought this may be a parade of some sort. The focus of the image is on the deer, which suggests to us that the person taking the picture is more interested in the deer than the possible parade going on in the background. We also see flags on flagpoles to the right. We think one flag is orange, white and green. Maybe this is happening in Ireland? The other flag seems to be red and white. Maybe this is a St. Patrick's Day parade. It will be interesting to read what other students came up with.

2. Given the fact that some of the band members have sat down, i am assuming that they expect the whole crossing to take some time. So, my view is that some deer herder is get his herd from one area to another. May be 100s of deer are involved.

I think that the are could be England and I heard that there are actually a lot of deer in England, and my guess is that there's like a parade going on because there are people in red and white clothes with like instruments in their hands, and there jut so happens that a herd of deer runs by, creating a stop to the parade, explaining the reason why it looks like there is a lot of traffic behind, where the parade is happening.
A group of deer are crossing the road, preventing the band (they hand several instruments with them) from going any further. I'd say it's in England from the look of the band members and scenery.
I think a marching band is just stopped to rest or is waiting to start on a parade and a herd of deer happen to make their way across a road in a park. I think the setting is in Europe somewhere because of the lamp posts and shape of the cars on the other side of the people in uniform. I don't think that the marching band stopped because of the deer crossing. There aren't any crowds to see the in park area, it just happens to be a stopping point. Also, many of the matching band members have their backs to the deer and are looking in the opposite direction.
This picture looks like it was taken in India. A herd of Indian Spotted Deer are crossing a road after a marching band has done their pass. The band members seem to be resting after their performance/rehearsal. The colonial architecture of the building on the right provides affirmation that this is probably India.

In this picture i see white spotted deer that are crossing the road. There are people looking at them like if i was something special, but i think it was a migration of deer. Another think that it could of possibly be happening is that there was probably a parade going on and the people saw them and so they stopped so they can give the deer a chance to cross and then keep on going with the parade.

When I read “reenactment of war”, I think of something ceremonious- or something commemorating history- bringing history to life. What do you see that makes you say that there is a reliving of an event happening, as opposed to a new event?
We think this picture shows a parade that is interrupted by deer. However, we think that this picture is photo-shopped because the deer look unnatural, especially their floating legs. If this was a real photo their legs would be more blurry because they would be moving faster. Maybe, the deer were supposed to be part of the parade but got loose or were let out too early.

You are working with the LEGS on the deer… and describe them in several ways: unnatural, floating, and in focus. The legs of the deer are making you question whether or not this image was changed or manipulated in some way. What do you see that makes you say the animals should be moving fast, with speed, and it should be blurred? And what do you see that makes you say the legs are floating, or not on the ground? There was a marching band today and the beginning of the marching band had to stop because there was deer crossing. but they only say 5 deer so they begin to play their instruments again but then come all the other deer so the band just sat on the sidewalk because they know it was going to be a long time. The marching band people are in red and white uniforms so I am thinking that they are from Canada. You can tell that in the background they blocked the road because the road is jammed with cars and people.

Today I was going to work then I came to a stop. I went and see what it was and it was guards blocking of the road because it was a lot of deer walking past the road. It looked like thousands of deer so I asked the soldiers when I can go past. They said after all the deer go by and I said that might be hours from now and I got to get to work in like 20 min.

One day, Bob a police officer was working traffic because the stop lights stopped working. When Bob was doing traffic he looked behind him and he saw a herd of deer crossing the road. So Bob had to stop traffic until all of the deer gets out of the road. The band kids came out wondering what was going on. Today they are redoing the zoo but it didn't end up the way they wanted it to, the reindeer ended up escaping hears the story on how. Today on June 21 are manager decided that it was time to redo the zoo, things where breaking animals kept escaping because they where broken. First, we had to put the animals in a different location then they where, the reindeer where more difficult to do then the other animals so what we ended up having to do is chasing them done streets.

I think that people were trying to do a reenactment of a war. When they were shooting the guns/cannons they scared the deer out of their home, or wherever they were. There are a lot of babies so that means the picture was taken in the spring, recently.

But at the same time, you question if deer were even present on the scene… or if they were added to the image digitally. What do you see that makes you say that the deer don’t seem to visually match the rest of the image?

You are also speculating about the reason for that migration…to get more food. You are also considering what country this might be. What do you see that makes you say Canada?
We are having a parade for all the boy scouts people. They have to wear a red top ad white pants. There is different type of cars trailing behind them like truck firetruck police. They had to stop to let the deer cross by the leaders of the group was a deer called Jeremy. They chose Jeremy cause he is responsible, he listens to his group members. Once they go by they will finish they parade then they will go home.
There is a march on the road, but maybe the march did not go so well. Because there are some people on the ground and some deer are moving towards the other side of the forest. I think that this march is very important because there are many people and there are also many guards but it may be a parade, I'm not sure!

Look at the beautiful day the orchestra is playing a lovely song until Santa's reindeer run across the road. All of a sudden, they stopped for an hour as reindeer went by. Then they heard a person cry for help and then went the sled pow, bang, whoosh as the sled went by. One of the band players ran and fetched the sled and stopped the sled and brought Santa to safety.

While you haven’t nailed anything down, this uniform reminds your group of the Commonwealth- the UK together with states and countries previously part of the British empire. Reading through the comments this morning, there is some language that has been used interchangeably when referring to our group in red in the middle ground of our image. @Emma has referred to the group as “band members”, “soldiers”, and “guard.” Others have used the words “band” and “honor guard.” Just a noticing as I look back and wonder… what do we see that makes us say these figures may or may not be part of a national military?

I think this shows a band marching that stopped to watch the dears to cross. I see people dressed up and just looking at the deer cross the street. I can find more people in the backgroud witch looks like the crowd watching the band or watching a parade until the deer crossed the road.

A parade is being held up because of a deer migration or the parade may have not started yet.
The image shows what looks to be a marching band with red uniforms, waiting for a huge group of deer to walk across the road. These deer look to be purposefully put there due to the surroudings and gow straight they are walking. If this is a simple deer crossing though, it is confusing that people from the band are allowed to sit down, especially with how patient they are trained to be. There is a city behind them, so this could be the end area for a parade. It is overall very unclear with how confusing this looks.

It is interesting that you figured out the time of year based on the spots on the deer! I thought this was a parade but your idea that it is just a long road leading to somewhere important is valid as well.

What seems to be happening in this picture is that a parade is being interrupted by a group of deer walking down a street. The reason why I believe this took place during a parade is because there are many people in the background as well as cars. The reason why I believe that there is a marching band in the middle ground is because there are instruments beside them. In the foreground there are many deer that seem to be walking out of the frame of the picture. They all look like fawns since they are shorter than a grown up deer.

The band members in the background seem to be giving the deer space and are relaxing while the deer pass, in what seems to be at some point during a parade. In this picture it seems there is a marching band held up by some deer crossing the road but the marching band must be pretty good cause the crowd of cars behind them or they are just holding up traffic
The photo depicts a stream of deer crossing the road in front of a marching band. The road seems really backed up behind them so it seems like there was a parade. Then again, there is a random semi truck so maybe the parade was permanently halted because of the deer.

Others have mentioned the size of the animals in the foreground, and you have called them “baby” deer. What do you see that makes you say that is a group of baby animals?
What seems to be happening in the picture is that a parade is being interrupted by a bunch of deer. I say this is during a parade because of the marching band and the hordes of people and police behind them. The deer seem to be blocking the parade from continuing. The people have likely been stopped for a while as many are sitting and there seems to be many deer walking out of the frame, so it must be a large group of deer.

So I think that they were having a parade or getting ready to and a herd of deer ran in a line across the road in a line as if they were in a separate parade but they look like they're excited and ready to go somewhere but it looks like there in a hurry and then behind the actual parade there are tons of cars and they look very inpatient and mad and ready to go wherever they are going right now. I think that they are cute too!
In this picture there is a large flock of deer crossing a road. All the deer seem to be fawns based on the amount of white dots on their bodies and the size of the animals. Behind the deer, there is a group of people dressed in the same uniform. They all have white pants and red coats plus black hats with what looks like a white feather on the hat. I think there is a marching band in the backround of this picture, I believe this because the people in the back are all in the same outfit and wearing those weird marching band hats. I honesty lay can tell what the animals in the front of the picture are, they kind of look like deers but the antlers on the one are not like the antlers on a deer. This picture looks fake because everything around the animals is blurry and they are perfectly clear so I feel this picture was cropped, therefore I can't tell where this picture was taken.
I agree with your comment @Tera H. Your observations about the marching band are very observant and detailed. I also think they are a marching band based on their uniforms. Since there is a marching band, why do you think they are there? Normally marching bands play for special occasions like a festival or the arrival of an important figure. I can see why so say the picture is fake, but could the picture be out of focus which causes the background to appear blurry? Also, I believe all the animals are deer. The one that has the strange antlers could be starting to grow them and they haven't grown long enough to look like regular deer antlers.

This would also make sense considering the style of the lamps near the deer. The deer are crossing in front of where the marching band was supposed to pass through, so they have no choice but to put down their instruments and wait until the deer finish crossing. This is why some instruments such as what appears to be a tuba or some large brass instrument are on the street.

However, based on the colors of the flag in the background, I'm not sure if I agree. Also, you mentioned that there was a marching band, but why do you think they are there? Marching bands normally play for momentous occasions such as a festival, a parade, or an important person coming to town.

In this photo, one could piece together some sort of story. First, lets go with what we see. I see a pack of deer crossing the road, but this pack of deers is rather large. Also, these deer look really tiny, so they must be on the young side. As one's eyes move to the background, one could notice how it gets fuzzy. Anyway, what I can see from the fuzzy part is a rather large group of men dresses in a red and white outfit with some sort of gold accented hat. I am a little confused why they are standing int the middle of the road because their looks like there is a bunch of traffic and cars a few feet away from them. So, standing in the middle of the road would not be good.
Anyway. onto my final thought, I believe that in this photo a large pack of deer are crossing the road because there are no cars there because of the large group of men standing in the middle of a street. This picture is taking place in some busy town or city. A type of deer seem to be crossing a busy street in front of a group of people,all-related in someway judging by the similar uniforms. The deer are holding up the people and cars, and the deer are taking a long time to cross judging by how some of the uniformed people have stopped to sit down and take a break. I see some kind of band in some city. Their wearing red and white and have black hats . I see a bunch of deer´s walking across the road stopping the band from moving because some are standing and sitting on the road and their not lined up like their post to . The background looks like a very busy road
It looks like everyone is gathered around to watch the deer migration. It looks like they were having a parade when the baby deer's started coming out. I looks like they were having a road block to let the little Bambi's pass through

Is there a reason that you think the road was blocked for the deer and not for the parade?
There is deer crossing the road in front of some type of parade. I see people lined up behind the deer and there is also lots of vehicles and lights. I can also see that the land space of this town is kind of hilly.
In this picture it looks like an early, foggy morning and I see cars, people with uniforms on, and a group of deers crossing the road. A parade might be taking place, because there is a band group that is standing together, cars that are blocking the road and the group of deers are migrating somewhere during this time.
I would like to know what caused you to guess that this picture was taken in the morning.
In the photo there is a group of deer walking together and are walking across the road. In the background there seems to be a marching band waiting for the deers to cross. Further in the background, There are people and cars, probably following the marching band. In the area they are in, they might entering the park.

This photo looks photo shopped to me. But there are many deer crossing the street during what looks like a festival. There is a marching band in the background and many other people lining up for a parde.

In this picture it looks like a herd of caribou running across the road in a town in what looks like a parade. In the front of the parade there is a marching band. I think this picture is from either Canada, USA, or Europe.

In this picture I see a bunch of deer crossing the street and behind them is a bunch a cars and people. It looks like some sort of parade or something.
In this picture there is a herd of deer crossing the street in front of a lot of traffic. There is a marching band in the middle of the street so there might be a parade going on. The town is well kept with very green grass and pretty buildings.
Why do you think there is a parade going on? Could it be for a special celebration, holiday, or festival?

I did not think about the deer following something! Maybe because they appear to be babies (fawn) they are following adult deer.
In this picture it looks to me that a band or army is marching in the street. I think that this picture is also photoshopped, why would more than 20 deers be passing from one side of the road to the next, when there are a big group of people. The deer feet also don't touch where the sidewalk dents in leading me to again think the picture is photoshopped. They also don't seem bothered by the large number of people or look like they're in a hurry.

The soldiers in the front of the parade are dressed in red uniforms, perhaps they are British soldiers. What do you see specifically that makes you say it is a marching band?
In the picture there is a large group of deers crossing the road while a marching band is watching the deers cross the road. I say this because in the background the marching band is just watching them. I can also see that there are a lot of people and cars so my guess is that this was probably a parade that got stopped because of the deers crossing the road.

This is a controlled Axis deer crossing, probably located in Texas. I say there Axis deer because of the white spotted pattern along the back and the shape of the horns. And I say this is in Texas because these animals were introduced to Texas in the 30's so it would make sense that they would want to protect them. I can also see a group of people dressed in red and white, along with small buildings and a traffic jam in the streets, caused by this crossing.
What gives you the indication that this picture takes place in Texas?
What I think is going on in this picture is this takes place in England because of the Red Coats in the back ground. I think they're at the Queen's house and the deer are just crossing the road.
