LOL we need to provide the same kind caring verbal interaction and other mental/emotional support for boys we as girls receive from infancy. When we redefine our average stress not as simply new situations but many maintained layers of mental work which take up real mental energy leaving less mental energy and creating more tension as those layers reach a limit then we can understand how the aggression anger fear hurt given to boys/men to make them tough along with much less verbal interaction is creating - more activity higher muscle tension hurting handwriting motivat./fine motor skills less mental energy from high stress along with low social vocabulary/poor comm. from much less care hurting reading and motivat. We need to see how the much care we continually receive from parents teachers peers others is causing us to go ahead and appear superior while the very harsh hurtful treatment boys/men receive is hurting and even destroying their lives. In the information age this is the difference between ability to work today earn a living and have a sense of self-worth or desire to live. As girls/women we are given this support/protection by the very boys/men whom we are hurting each day with our still more hurtful treatment and much less care. Now with our over protection and much indulged freeness of expression we are feeling superior and using our freedom of expression in school employment offices and stores to hurt boys/men with our words tones inflection and voice stress.

In my opinion, American doll should not promote or start a new line of male dolls. American doll was originally made for little girls as best friends or sisters. I think that promoting male dolls can cause boys to get bullied from it and encourage them to like the same gender ( Don't see a problem with it ). Boys can get criticized for playing with girl or boy dolls. Majority of the time if you go to a play area full of children you would see the boys running around or playing with trucks or etc. But you would notice the little girls playing with the dolls or kitchen areas. The boy that's over there playing with dolls is probably going to get bullied for being with the girls and playing with the dolls. Dolls are feminine whether its a boy or girl doll. I think when boys play with them that can encourage them to like the same gender. I don't see a problem with that but i know most parents oppose that. This can also lead back up to them getting bullied. In conclusion, I don't think that American doll should promote a new dolls line for boys.

mack more dolls plz #ppllzz

Yes there should be more boy dolls because some young boy's experience gayness at a young age by playing with ''dolls'' and putting makeup on thinking there playing around but, really doing something else that they don't know about so there should be more so boy's like that can play with them thinking it's a boy so what does it matter.
Chris (Godinez)
Today people around the world think dolls are only for girls. That if a boy plays with a doll there are girls. IT all because of gender roles and stereotypes. People should realize that theyre for all. If American Girls Doll makes more boy dolls more people would buy them and there would be less and less hate. But since theirs not lots of dolls it cant be.
Ji (AZ)
I think they should make more boy dolls. My mom had a friend that has a son who played with dolls. Whenever I went to their house, him and I would played with his dolls and have fun. This article reminded me what he said, he said “I am glad that Barbie has Ken dolls,” Dolls aren’t just for girls. They are for boys too. So I think American Doll should make more boy dolls. From that, younger kids will have more fun, boys and girls will get along more, and the company will make more money.

As a child and even now, I had all was wanted a good made male doll. When I look on the shelf and all I see are female dolls with long beautiful hair but when I find the male dolls their hair are made of plastic. So I never wanted them. Mattel should have a line of boy dolls. They can have some many times and show boys with different personality then the normal stereotypes. I also think that this will fill in a need for young children who want to play family or have a way to create themselves as heroes and job careers. Personally this is the coolest sounding thing to me.
Zoey G. (Burton,MI)
As a child I would have wanted to play with Logan. I say this because as a child you play with any toy you want. It doesn’t matter if it was a car or a baby doll. As a child you are blind to the real world. The American Girl company has been around since 1986 and have been introducing all the girls with a background with a historical tie to it. They should make a line of boy dolls and do the same. Why? Because it would be like singling out males. Everyone wants to be noticed and Logan is one of those people. Logan being created after 31 years is/was a must to me. Why? Because diversity is something we have a lot of. Having a diverse toy set will help children lean turn having more friends and not being scared to approach others. The creation of Logan brought criticism to the American Doll company, but this will end great. He will be accepted.
Alexis J (Arizona)
I think that Mattel offering a new line of boy dolls is a great idea. Giving young boys a chance to play with something that has been known as a "Girly-Thing" offers them a chance to play with dolls, without being ridiculed for playing with girl toys. This also gives young girls an opportunity to explore beyond their gender, give new looks and backstories for the boy dolls, and figure out at a younger age the differences between boys and girls.
Kallie O (Rhode Island)
I think AG made a smart decision in making these boy dolls. I understand how AG is a girly thing and boys usually don't play with the. However, girls can play with boy dolls too and they should play with them. This doll probably won't make boys want to play with dolls, but girls definitely will.
barden j (Rhode Island)
To be honest, I think dolls are weird if boys play with them because you usually do not see a boy playing with a doll. I would not play with them because I do not find them interesting. I think these dolls are a waste of money and not a good idea because they can make boys have "imaginary friends" and that can affect the mental part of the brain. If they talk to them, the dolls could "make" a decision for them and then they do not kno how to make them in the future without a "buddy". Also, they are not talking to a real person but to a fake doll. This is also for both boys and girls, dolls can affect the way kids think and act around real people. Some kids depend on them to help them with a decision, which is not good mental health and can lower social health.
crystal dodd (rhode island)
Personally for my thoughts I think Mattel should make more boy dolls and complete boy line, and I would probably would play with with Logan when I was younger.
Jake Sullivan (RI)
I think boys should be able to use boy dolls. In today's day and age, society brings us up with expectations of a boy to act "manly". They have to express themselves in a certain way and are looked down upon for doing "unmanly" things. Although I wouldn't play, my reasoning was that I preferred action, however, some boys wanted to do this. I think the stereotype that we should all be "manly" is untrue and unfair. Boys are called names for enjoying things deemed "girly" and are held back from doing what they want. I think they should release these dolls because American girl dolls are all about diversity, so why not add boys? With the state of the world right now, these would get many sales and would get high ratings for what American girl doll is doing.
Shamus Culhane (RI)
I think that the company should add a line of boy dolls because some people might want to play with different types of dolls, and if they do not have boy doll than it might not be fair for boys. Also it would be more fair to have boys, as long as it is not all stereotypical because all boys are not the same.Lastly all boys are not supposed to be "manly" and they could like dolls.
jasmin (north kingstown)
yes, I think they should make more boy dolls because girls and boy could play with the dolls because they both can play together so boys and girls can play with dolls at the sametime.
Samuel Riccio (Rhode Island)
I would not play with boy dolls so this would not appeal to me. But, it could appeal to other people. But, I don't think that it will appeal to that many people so a lot of people might not want to buy them. So I think that Mattel will not make enough money.
ireland ashe (idk)
I think they should make more male dolls. Kids are going to be kids and I don't think it would matter if it's male or female.
Braden DeGraw (I'm not telling you)
From a business viewpoint, it is a great way to expand their outreach not only to young girls and collectors, but now boys alike. My sister was an avid collector herself (and my Mom's credit card proved so) and loved it. A trend I had noticed among this, they tend to collect girl dolls. With this expansion, it will give girls and boys alike to have the chance for play, and could possible cause more interaction. Doll role playing can increase motor, conversation, and social skills. After all of this, I think that the addition of boy dolls will help the consumer, and the seller.

(P.S. American Girl makes a boy: Oh the irony)
Timothy (The End City)
I boy doll is a good idea and offers wider verity of dolls to more children. When i was younger i would play with my sister and she had dolls. I didn't think it was for girls because i played with them too and it didn't bother me that I did play with them.I had a great time playing with my sister. However, there are many other boy dolls in the world the are almost the same as Logan but are much cheaper. American Girl Doll is a little bit behind on the boy doll chain. If Logan does good as far as money goes they could start a chain with the boy dolls and even have them connect with the girl dolls in the series.
Mackenzie (Rhode Island)
I think the boy doll is a great thing, dolls should not just represent only girls. With boy dolls, boys could start to want to play with them which is okay, boys can use their imagination with dolls and should not be judged for doing it. Boys are taught to play sports, but why can they not play with dolls? I would probably play with it when I was a child, because genders did not matter to me when it came to being myself, and because I am a girl I was never judged for it. I remember when I was little someone was made fun of for playing with a doll because they were a boy. Therefore, it could keep people from being stereo typical.
Cole.G (02852)
I think that the girls would interest more out of this than the guys because the girls would eventually just get bored of all the girl dolls that their playing with so they would need something new. Honestly I don't think the guys would really care about this because most of them don't play with dolls in the first place.
Sophie Goodkin (Rhode island)
I think that having the boy doll would be an amazing thing. You can create families and friends for your dolls, I know I would've. I think Mattel should offer the line because it could bring some diversity and and it could have more boys buy these dolls. I think that it could go both ways for the children having a boy doll fill the need for them. Others could use it and have a great time, they could use the doll as a friend even. But others may think that having a boy doll is useless and they don't really need it in their doll set.
Katelynn Rule (Rhode Island)
I think that there should be a boy doll. I didn't play with dolls but, I think that it would be good for young boys to play with a doll. There aren't many boy dolls out there other than action toys. The doll would teach them to be gentle. Mattel should offer a complete line of boy dolls with backstories. When I was younger, I did read the stories and I liked them. I do think a few boys would certainly add to the collection.
Jacob L (Rhode Island)
I think that these toys should continue to be made for boys because it allows them to be who they are and not pretend they don't like dolls.
Maggie W. (Rhode Island)
I think that having a boy doll is a great thing for children around America. With American Girl Dolls, you mostly only get a doll with dressed and skirts. I think that it's really important to have a doll that's unique and different from all the others. If girls can play with dolls, then why can't boys?
Eliot Joy (Rhode Island)
I would not play with Logan, the American Girl Doll. When I was young, I played sports, played on my Nintendo, or just hung out with my family. I don't think a male toddler would mess around with a doll because at that age, only girls play with them (stereo typically). And back then, girls had "cooties" which is supposedly bad and taken seriously. I would not play with Logan.
Michael (Rhode Island)
I think that it is very strange to say that playing with dolls is not manly. While I was growing up I was always told that dolls were girls toys and I should play with other things like matchbox cars. I always have thought that this was strange and that kids should be able to play with whatever they want to.
Natalie B (Rhode Island)
I think that they should offer a complete line of boy dolls because it battles the gender rolls of dolls only being girls toys. This will also show young boys that it is okay to play with dolls. Personally I would not play with these dolls, or any dolls for that matter because I think that dolls are rather creepy.
Melanie C. (Rhode island)
I think that having a Boy Doll line is somewhat of a good idea. One reason that it is okay is that now dolls could be compatible with both genders. But, not a lot of boys will choose to play with dolls, they seem to want to go outside more, and do things like that. Having a small line of dolls would be a good thing though. This is also good because it let's boys know that it is okay to play with dolls.
Angelo Vizzacco (NA RI)
I wouldn't have played have played with this doll when I was younger because I always am and was a gamer since I was I think around 5 or 6 and by then it was to late for toys for me and I do think they should make a boys line of dolls as long if they change the name or else it wouldn't make scene finally think they would fill need for younger children mainly because of the virility.
MadisonP (Rhode Island)
I think that Mattel making boy dolls is a great thing because boys may feel discluded when they see all the dolls from American Girl are girls. They may want to play with dolls too. There is no law against boys playing with dolls, and I think that boys should play with dolls. It may spark their imagination to do something fun. Imagination is a good thing- for girls and boys alike- they should use their imagination to do something fun with them. The dolls should be equalized- boys and girls.
Amanda C (RI)
I think that the boy doll is great for both boys and girls because usually is all girl dolls and people get tired of it. I also think that I would have wanted to play with a boy doll because then I would have had boy and girl dolls. I think that collection of boy dolls would be awesome because boys can play with it and girls. Finally, it wouldn't matter if boys play with dolls because it would show them that it doesn't matter if your a boy and you play with boy dolls because you should express your true self.
Davina P (Rhode Island)
I think that Mattel should offer a complete line of boy dolls because some boys like to play with dolls, too. When some people say that dolls are just for girls, they don't know what the boy likes to do for entertainment and people shouldn't focus on the sterotype of girls and boys.
Ryan Cogswell (Rhode Island)
I think that boy dolls would be good, but not with American Girl dolls because that changes their whole company from focusing on boys and girls when the name of the company is called American GIRL dolls.
Colin (Rhode Island)
Personally I would not play with dolls but if a kid wants to play with dolls he should be able to because it doesn't matter if it is a boy or girl, their just kids, and let kids be kids. Completely and totally cool.
Abby R. (Rhode Island)
I think this boy doll is a fantastic idea and will become very popular for children! I think this doll will work to brake the stereotype that only girls play with dolls. I think many children will enjoy this doll and I also believe it will bring enjoyment to many kids.
Kallie (Rhode Island)
I do think the boy doll is a good idea because the little girl's and boy's who want to play with both gender dolls should be able to. Also, boys may want to play with dolls at a young age as well do most little girls and I think it would be fair to have both gender dolls sold in American Girl stores.
Gabrianna M. (Rhode Island)
I think they should because it would show that dolls aren't just for girls that they are also for boys to enjoy too.
Joe (rhode Island)
I think boy american girl dolls would be good for children to play with. I probably wouldn't play with Logan when I was little because i was not into the doll type. Yes, the doll does feel the need for children.
steven white (rhode Island)
i think that they should stop making them because the marking will go downwards because little boys usually like to go hang out with their friends and play video games not wasting their time on a doll they don't know how to use and what to use it for so i think they should not keep making them
Brihatt P (Rhode Island)
I think it's great that they are making male dolls and should keep on doing it. Kids like to play with toys and a doll is a toy. Stereotypically, a doll is known as a toy for girls. If they were to make a boy doll, boys won't be embarrassed to play with dolls because it would be of it's gender. This will also increase the rates of boys playing with dolls.
Keara (Rhode Island)
I think that there should be more boy dolls because young girls would have a chance to play with boy and girl dolls. Also, boys could enjoy playing with dolls as well as girls would. If I could go back into my memories, and childhood, I would play with boy, and girl dolls.
Riley (Rhode Island)
I think boy dolls are a good thing because boys are also aloud to play with dolls. Also instead of girls seeing the same type of girl dolls all the time playing with a boy doll would give them a change. I would have wanted to play with Logan when I was little because he was different than my other dolls.
Jeff D. (Kansas)
I think they should not waste their time and money making these boy dolls since the image of a boy playing with dolls has been made to seem girly or ¨gay¨ but it would be a change for girls to have a boy doll and not have to play with girl dolls all the time.
Sean (Rhode Island)
I think that a boy doll is not necessary. This is because it is just another way to make money. Also it shows that American Girl is running out of ideas for dolls if they are adding in a boy as a resort.
Isabella (Rhode Island)
When i was younger I never played with boy dolls, I only owned one, and I rarely played with it. There could be other children who would play with them. But honestly I wouldn't play with a boy doll If I were younger.
Lily P (Rhode Island)
I am not sure about how I feel about boy dolls. I would have not wanted to play with them, for I think of American Girl Dolls as a girly thing. I do not think that Mattel should offer a boy doll line. I do not think they will earn enough money. As long as they are not following a stereotype of what boys should look like, say, act, etc., I am not totally against it.
Jack R (Rhode Island)
I think that a boy doll is a good thing because it is trying something new! I wouldn't have played with this doll because he is a doll and I find dolls kinda creepy looking. I think that the doll does fill the need because it gives the toddlers a chance to play with a new doll to make genders even!!
Savannah H (Rhode Island)
I think that a boy doll shouldn't be a new version of a doll. I say this because, American GIRL doll company sells American girl dolls not boy dolls. If that was the case the company would have to try to switch the name of the company because American Girl only selled girls and now it would have to be switched for a boy doll. It wouldn't sound right and not a lot of children want boy dolls they only want girl dolls because you have many things you can do and I feel like the company would change the name as "American Dolls"
Iz Montini (Rhode Island)
Personally, I have never played with dolls cause they're a bit creep. However, I don't think someone should spend that much money on a doll. On the flip side, I think maybe one boy doll would be a good idea for some boys who might want to play with them. I don't really think you could find enough people to play with a buy doll to make a whole collection. Maybe making a few boy dolls could be a good thing because I don't agree that only girls should be able to play with dolls, boys should be able to play with dolls if they choose to. I just don't think they would find enough people to have a whole collection.
Jordan D (Rhode Island)
I think that there should be more boy dolls. I think this because it is not right to say that a toy is for either boys or girls. It is not fair to force children into playing with toys that they are "supposed" to be playing with. Dolls can be for boys too, it does not matter if they are playing with a "girls toy" because they are just little kids and they should be allowed to play with whatever makes them happy, and if that means a doll, then they should be allowed to play with a doll. Judging a child based on what they they play with is rude and is taking away their personality.
Abigail L (Rhode Island)
I believe that there should not be boy versions of American Girl Dolls. Even though it is positive that they are trying to show equality between genders, i think hte company should focus on producing female dolls. After all, they are the American GIRL Doll Company. There are boys who play with dolls, which is fine, but there are those twin sets that have plenty of male dolls included. I think the American Girl Doll company is trying to show people that boys can play with dolls by coming out with a boy doll, which is a positive thing, but they should focus on girl dolls.
Jacob S (Rhode Island)
As a boy with slight fears after watching movies such as "Chuckie" or "Annebell," I would not want to play with this doll. I would simply be too afraid of its lifeless eyes and never-changing smile.
Although, I do think it would be good for Mattel to make more boy dolls. It would be good for Mattel as they would make more money, as stated in the article, and better for boys who just want to play with dolls without being called "Gay" or "Special." It would let them be able to be themselves and play with the dolls the want without feeling different from the dolls.
Eve Piazza (Rhode Island)
I do think they should make male dolls because boys should feel comfortable playing with toys considered "for girls" and it will help break certain gender roles controlling them. We should accept every ones interests no matter their gender.
Eryn Harvey (Rhode Island)
I am really against sexism-like actions, and I really like the idea of a boy doll. This new doll gives ALL children the opportunity to make a new story for these characters, boys and girls alike. Now, we are given more opportunity for creativity, and this will give boys and girls a new horizon for creative thinking.
Liam Horwitz-Smith (Rhode Island)
I think that the boy doll is a great idea. we think that the boys will play outside, with action figures, or trade football cards. We think the girls will play with dolls, have tea parties, or do makeup. But this is a way for boys to do what they want. When Barbie came out it was kind of like a action figure but that only girls use. everything is pink or purple These are "girl colors" I kind of think that is was not that good because boys should be able to play with what ever gender doll they want same with girl.
James F (Rhode Island)
I think the boy doll is a good idea because all people have a different interests when it comes to dolls kids will want to do their own thing, when they play with a doll they can have it what they want it to be.
Braeden P. (Rhode Island)
I would not have wanted to play with the new boy doll because for one, I am not a doll person. Next, it has no resemblance to sports or physical education at all. Finally, to me, it seems very boring. I do not think that Mattel should introduce a whole new line of boy dolls because a girl doll is a synthetic person with character through personality. So, kids should imagine the doll as a boy to save money and to save time of productivity.
Andrew Downey (Rhode Island)
I do not think that a boy doll will work out very well. Most boys do not find dolls very appealing, and even if they did, they would've made one a long time ago. If people like this doll then I think that more should be made. However, I suggest not following through with this idea as it might not get the amount of sales over time as other American Girl Dolls. People are buying this now only because it is your first boy doll. I do not think that this idea will work out.
aliana winkfield (Rhode Island)
I think boys deserves a doll to. Playing with a boy doll as a young child would´ve been awesome because you'll have a little brother to boss around or a store clerk or, even as a best friend to have and tell all your ideas to.
Shane Downing (Rhode Island)
I think that having a boy doll would be greet for the young boys and girls of the world. I say this because the normal girl doll has become a little dull since it was first made, and made only for girls. But now, since this doll was made, now boys can now use and play with the doll and for the girls that get this, it gives them a new toy to use and its not just a girl anymore!
Lucas Munroe (Davisville Middle School)
I think that this should not have happened. My reasons one being that this whole company is about making dolls for girls and seeing that if they were to change their whole companys points on making girl dolls then you may as well change the name to just "American Dolls" no Male or Female specifics involved at all. And making dolls for Females and Males is okay any gender can play with dolls. But having a company that only makes Female dolls make a Male doll seems quite obstinate and I think that in them doing this ends up making them look not very smart. I would not have played with the Logan doll either because I don't care much for dolls but also that it sounds wrong having a name with American GIRL doll and then having boy dolls installed
Samuel K. (Rhode Island)
I think they should make boy line of kids boy toys because when I was little my sister would always want to play with boy and girl dolls even though I would just play outside. She always played with barbie instead because she liked how there was girl and boy dolls unlike American girl where there was only girls.
Sydney C (RI)
The boy doll would allow girls, and maybe boys, to expand upon their imagination and create stories and characters using girl and boy dolls. Mattel should offer a line of boy dolls each having a different background because it will make each doll unique and they would all have a different story. The boy doll will possibly also make boys interested in dolls, which will help them to use their imagination while having fun at the same time.
Lauren (Rhode Island)
I think that a boy doll is a great thing for American Girl because boys can finally play with dolls instead of being forced to play with ordinary boy toys. Dolls are a great thing for boys and girls to play with because when you play with dolls you can really let your imagination go free and you can do whatever you want, therefore I think a boy doll is a great addition to American Girl.
Adam Hall (North kingstown)
I think a boy doll is a great idea. It would be nice to not only have a girl doll but also have a boy doll as well. I think it would show boys that having a doll isn't bad and they shouldn't be ashamed of it.
madison (Rhode Island)
I think that boy dolls should be made but I think that they should be made for girls not only boys. I'm not trying to be sexist or stereotypical but girls tend to grow up and become mothers and most of the time mothers are the ones to care for the children and give them their basic needs so that is why I think dolls should be for girls. But I agree that boy dolls should be made but not specifically for boys.
Mason Andrade (Rhode Island)
I think that it is interesting that they are making a boy doll because it could be a good thing for boys to get off there Xbox or play station and maybe play with a sibling.
Steven Burke (Rhode Island)
I think that a boy doll is a good thing because some little boys and girls want to have a boy doll instead of a girl doll. I think this is a good idea because little boys play with girl dolls all the time. Girls also play with Ken the boy Barbie doll.
Felicity Pignolet (Rhode Island)
I believe the boy doll is a nice idea. The thought that dolls are for girls is basically a stereotype. I would like to see more of these, each with interesting backstories. I know a lot of young girls and boys are happy, so why should those older get involved? It's the child's choice.
Brayden Beard (North kingstown RI)
i think the boy doll is a piont less thing, the company is called "American girl doll" not "American boy doll". i think it looks creepy and i dont think many people will buy this doll. First off, he looks like a baby with fully grown hair he looks creepy. not many boys will buy this doll and i dont think it will be a success.
Haley Roeske (rhode island)
I think that this new boy doll is a great idea for the market because it opens up an opertunity for a better storyline and the books that the american girl doll company has made. I also think its great because now there are two genders in this market and now some boys might be interested in buying an american boy doll.
brendan d (rhode island)
I think there should be more dolls only because some boys or girls might like to have boy dolls as well as girl dolls to use. so i guess they should make some more boy dolls.
Cecilia Masterson (RI)
I think that the boy doll is a great idea because boys like to be part if the action. So, if they see a group of girls with dolls, they will probably say, 'hey, i want a doll too.' There are not many boy dolls out there so it will be difficult. Not anymore. That is why it is a good idea to have a boy doll.
Jordan turillo (ri)
i feel that it is a good thing doll equality i guess
Nathan W (Rhode Island)
I do not think there should be anymore dolls in general, because they are creepy, and weird. There is no difference in creepyness between the two genders, so I really don't have a preferance. But I think, if I were I buisness, to make more boy dolls would be a good move if they became popular. As for wanting to play with dolls when I was a kid... No. I never played with dolls, I played with tanks, army men and dinosaurs.
Claire B (Arizona)
I think that a boy doll is an awesome thing! I know I would have wanted to play with the Logan doll when I was little, because its fun to have more than just girl dolls to play with. I think it would be a great idea for Mattel to offer a line of boy dolls because it would be nice for boys to know that they don't have to play with the toys that they are "supposed" to be playing with and play with toys that they are make them happy, those dolls can be anything in their imagination. The new toy does fill a need for young children because it gives them a chance to play with something that is out of the ordinary. I think that a boy doll is an awesome thing!
alex (Arizona)
We live in a society where boys are taught to act as "manly" as possible. I think this is a huge downside to our society. We need to learn that boys can like what they like without being "gay" I personally feel like boys should be able to express themselves the same way girls do. Most boys are animals, and I feel like it's because they're raised to think that way. We live in a society where boys are taught to act "manly" because society raises them to think they need to be manly.
A Hernandez (AZ)
Dolls are for boys too. The sexism behind boys not being able to play with "girls toys" or known as "dolls" is pathetic. Boys could be able to play with guy dolls an have it not be girly. The doll could be destroying cities, fighting bad guys, wherever there imagination takes them. There's nothing wrong with a boy showing his true colors. Dolls are for boys too.
Ariana (az)
I think the fact that American Girl is making a boy doll is really cool. I know my cousins who have these dolls have always wanted a boy toll to include in their games. Many times they just tie the hair up and pretend, but I think having an actual boy doll is amazing and will make them more interested. In 2017 everything is much more advanced, and boys playing with dolls isn’t a bad thing any longer. I think it’s good for boys to be able to express their feelings and have a doll their own gender to play with. Overall, I love the fact that American Girl made a boy doll. I think this shows how the world is evolving, and growing more accepting.
Katie (S)
I think the idea of boys being able to play with dolls is a great thing. It can teach little boys how to be more caring and gentle. Its wrong that boys can't chose any toy to play with, society tells them which ones are made or their gender. Telling kids that they can't have a certain toy because it's a "girl toy" is like telling someone they can't be themselves. People are trying to get rid of gender roles, boys are wearing make-up, dressing in what they want, and just being themselves. Little boys should be able to play with dolls without being Judged.

In my opinion i think that they should have more boy dolls. Because it doesn't really matter if a guy wants to play with a doll. When i was 6 years-old i remember that i was scared of dolls. Because of their big, glossy eyes. And their clothing that was made out of soft or ruff fabric which made it so real. And i didn't really like how real they were. I remember walking into my room, then i saw the doll siting on my bed, I immediately ran to my dad. Any one can play with dolls so i think that they should make them so everyone can play with a doll no matter what.

I didn't prefer dolls when I was younger, I preferred the little stuffed animals and miniature horse doll-like toys. Honestly, I think that boys should have dolls too. The kids that like to be crazy at home, messy all the time, and more rough will probably stick to toys like trucks. There might be some boys that would rather play with dolls. I think that they would rather have dolls more like them. Girls can play with trucks, so what's the problem with boys having dolls too? There were always some boy Barbie dolls like Ken available, but they were meant for the girls so they could have Barbie and Ken.

Yes, when I was a kid and I got a new doll, I would play with it for so long-when it was time for bed I would sleep like a long. As a four-year old, getting a new doll was the best thing. Especially if it was a guy doll because when me and my sister would play wedding and we would never have a guy doll. I think that American Girl dolls should offer boys with the complete look because girls and guys should be treated the same.

If i'm being 100% honest i wouldn't play with a boy doll as a child. As a child I loved dolls and played with them nonstop, i had about 20 dolls and out of that 20 i had 2 male dolls. As you can see there's a huge difference. world-wide there are a lot more female dolls than male dolls, that's a fact.I think its a fantastic idea to start a line of male dolls for the children who want to play with them and it gives young boys a chance to play with dolls without feeling shameful because its a girl doll. Children who feel different like the odd one out would like this doll a lot i believe because it helps express who you are. If i'm being 100% honest I wouldn't play with a boy doll as a child.

I think that boys can be able to play with dolls even if they are boys. If a girl wants to play with guns or trucks, no one cares. its the same thing as this. Girls can play with guns and trucks without being judged, so why cant boys play with dolls?

These new dolls are revolutionizing gender roles and letting boys know that it's okay to play with dolls too. Dolls are not just for girls and cars are not just for boys; children can play with the toys that make them happy and have fun. American Girl should continue to expand the male dolls because they allow boys to express themselves at a young age.

When I was younger, I never thought about why guys did not have dolls like girls did. We had our Barbies, they had blocks and toy trains. There were boy dolls on the market, but they were still marketed towards girls. Personally, my American Girl doll that I owned was a huge part of my childhood. My favorite part was the book series that went along with every doll, giving each doll character and a personality. These dolls gave me a springboard to nurture my love of literature, and boys have missed out on that part of there childhood.

I like the idea of boy toys, but i just believe boys are too rough. They want to destroy things and play with cars and ram them into things. Boys want action figures where they can pretend they are fighting or shooting the bad guys. They're just a little too rough to have an expensive American Boy Doll which they will end up breaking and having to repair so in the end, parents will just be wasting money. All boys want is to be like Godzilla and step and destroy a little city. Girls want a doll where they can act like a mom and be delicate and caring for their doll which is why American Girl Dolls are perfect for girls not so much for boys. That's just my opinion though, what’s yours?

Most boys would pretend their dolls were guns and play war with them.

I think they should not make a lineup of boy dolls, because they will not sell as much as the girl dolls. When I was a little child, I used to play with girl dolls. In my experience, girls can vicariously live out a fantasy through these dolls. They can put on make-up, or they can put on dresses to the girl dolls. On the other hand, boy dolls have another role. They are usually used for auxiliary roles, such as, the role of a boyfriend. As such, consumers are not going to buy boy dolls too much.

It's funny how girls are supposed to play with dolls and boys are suppose to play with cars or dinosaurs. I think that the gender role issues we face as adults could be affected by the toys we play with as kids.

But I have to wonder if the gender role issues can be altered at all by having the equal line up of boy dolls as the girl dolls...

I'm like the idea of boy dolls. Got one for our son in the early 1980'swhen he was three years old. His younger sister has her dolls, he had his. He played rougher with his; she played more delicately. Sometimes they reversed role. Totally cool.

I think they should make more male dolls. Kids are going to be kids and I don't think it would matter if it's male or female.
