To be honest I personally think kids cant make a a diff in this world, the world we live in today is disgusting to the point were adults would never listen to a kids opinion especially a young woman that black. cause in america brains looks is what people judge you on, But then at the same time if a young man/woman was able to speak out and talk and had some listeners there will always be a person that looks for ways to break them down and take the light away from them #MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I believe teens can make a difference in the world if they out their mind to it.In the article "Do You Think Teenagers Can Make a Difference in the World", by Caroline Crosson Gilpin found on New York Times states that 19 year old Jasilyn Charger and Trenton Bakeberg counseled young people, urging them to look out for one another and get involved. This is a great way to get teenagers off the streets and into something that will benefit their life instead of put it in harms way.

Teenagers Can Make A Difference In The World. They went to the tribal council demanding and getting funds for a safe house for young people. Second reason is that it urge them to look out for each other. In the article "Do You Think Teenagers Can Make a Difference In The World?" Source found on New York Times.com. Teens came up a group name called "One Mind Movement" cause of all the deaths that's going on, they want to let people know there in world. They raise money for the youth group to travel and play sports, some never traveled so it was a big experience that they went and seen the ocean for the first time and viewed the world.

I believe teenagers can make a difference if they really try and put there minds to it for example. In the article "do you think teenagers can make a difference" Jasilyn charger is 19 year old girl who witnessed her best friend taking her life and falling into a deep depression. she later helps reduce the suicide rate in her community. teenagers can make a difference by volunteering at hospitals, animal shelters, homeless shelters and more.

I believe teens can make a difference if they try and do the right things. I believe teens can change the world. In the article, "do you think teenagers can make a difference in the world?" by Caroline Crosson Gilpin source found on New York Times. For example, Jasilyn Charger states, "they went to the tribe council, demanding and getting funds for safe house for young people". I think this is a great idea, them wanting to get a youth group started to help teenagers fight with a battle of suicide and fight the political issues that they have in their lives.

I believe teenagers can help make a difference if they really want to. Teens are more outgoing then most adults. Teenagers tend to see view things from different perspectives other than sticking to one thing or opinion. When a teenager believes in something they commence to be motivated and tend to do things that inspire other adults or even in some cases teens as well. The suicide movement shocked me because it inspired other teens who were going through the same thing to help. The fact that the marches and the run also surprised adults shows that once a teenager sets their mind on something it causes many reactions. I do believe teenagers can make a vast difference or even a small one and that they're not as "useless" as adults tend to view them as.
ASmith (Carman-Ainsworth HS)
I do believe teenagers can make a difference in this world. Teenagers tend to be more open minded which something most adults lack. With more people having an open mind we can get more things done and see things from more than one perspective. Once that happens we can get more done and make more people happy. More people happy would equal a better, and less judgmental and hostile environment. All of those qualities together would equal a better world that everyone would be welcome in and feel safe in.

Teens are the most important part of any society. We make up the future for a society, we are curious, we are intelligent, and we are the young adults that will make up the next generation. Even though the millennial generation is portrayed as a lazy, lackadaisical generation where people lay in bed staring at a screen all day. Or a group of people that wait for everything to be given to them with the snap of our fingertips, we are more than just that. In today’s society teens have more resources than ever before to study a multitude of skills and occupations. This allows us to better the future for everyone. We now know more about what goes on around us and we even know more than what our past generation’s teens did
Kaeila Knight (Salt Lake City, Utah)
I believe that we, teens of all races and religion, can make a difference. We are the future but that’s what some of us don’t see. Our brain is constantly seeing the bad side of things because of all the hate and stress we receive as an individual. We begin to think that we have no purpose in our life because that’s what our society has lead us to believe. We begin to see ourselves as useless, but that’s quite incorrect. We are the next generation of intelligence. We will be the ones to find out how to solve a worldwide problem, the ones who might become President one day, the next to save lives. We have purpose, but that might not happen if someone doesn’t do something. The negativity that we face every day are making those chances slimmer and slimmer. Suicides happen every day, worldwide. But everyone is so committed to hiding their pain that no one seems to notice. Depression seems to be the thing for us teenagers now a days. You can’t scroll through social media without seeing someone posting a sad quote or threatening to end their lives. The more we read those things the more we are accustomed to becoming similar to them. We could put a stop to this if we tried. When someone does this, you try getting them to stop. Text them and ask if their okay, see them in person, anything could work but trying to endorse suicide would not. We are the future, and we have purpose, but with everything going on we could also be the end.

This article tells about how kids around the word have suicide thoughts and some sadly go through with it. Jasilyn Charger is a 19 year old girl who witness her best friend take her life falling into depression. It’s hard knowing that people wake up, be bullied, and go home and either cut their wrists or commit suicide. Hundreds of kids a year have killed themselves because of being lonely or they live a bad life. Soon, a group was made called One Mind Youth Movement help kids who suffered or need someone to talk to. I would hope that no child has thoughts about suicide or harming themselves to take away the mental pain in their life.

Yes they can, anyone who makes up a percentage of the population can make a difference
Brandon Grissom (Madera California)
I was not inspired by one teenagers effort to help stop suicide in her community. But I was surprised by all of the amount of people that joined to help. A cause that I would like to help is to help spread the love of Herpetology and to support more research on that topic. Teenagers can make a difference in the world, one of the many ways that they can is just by helping out their local community.

Charger had a very inspiring way of helping teenagers who live in this place. There´s nothing better than finding a purpose in life when you think your life is not worthy anymore. And these kids found one fthanks to Charger and to their own willpower. I hope they find more and more ways to help themselves, their Reservation and others.

Hello, I was doing a activity with my english teacher and we read this article. I'm 14 years old and I was amazed by Jalyn's action. Imagine if there were more people on the world like her. I was shocked in the other hand by how suicide in that area is "normal", her action had inspired me. In my school, there is a project that is called in portuguese "Aprendizagem Solidária" in whitch we plan activities to visit schools, hospitals, rest homes and others.

I want to help as many people as possible with my attitudes, thank you for that.

Appreciated it,

I was pleasantly surprised by Jasilyn's action, and it shows how much her best friend's death had impacted Jasilyn. Yes, I was inspired by Jasilyn's effort to help reduce suicides among younger people in her community. I wasn't surprised, per say, by the fact that her desire to help snowballed into a movement because teenagers often like to follow in others' footsteps, and that's what happened after Jasilyn's actions. Teenagers were inspired by Jasilyn's efforts, so they decided to do the same thing. I would like to talk about HIV positive and AIDs patients, and how they are treated just because they have the disease. I would like to present speeches and advocate for them because just because they have this condition doesn't mean you can't interact and be friends with them. Teenagers can make a difference by volunteering at hospitals, animal shelters, etc. If you are determinedand confident you can acheive the so called impossible.
Jachelle J. (Madera, CA)
I personally believe that teenagers can make a difference in the world. Reading the story, I was surprised when she try help make movement and make difference, because it show how much she cares and loves her friend, that she’s willing to help everyone and do everything that she can. A problem that I would like to do something about, is social anxiety or peer pressure, because this is what lead teenagers to depression. What I think would help, is for teenagers to stop trying to change who they are or their personality just to try to impress someone. A teenagers can make a difference in this world simply by donating to an organization and volunteering.
Danial Carberry (Madera, CA)
I felt bad for Charger about her friends. It can be really hard to lose friends. I was actually REALLY impressed that she was able to turn it into a movement. To have all those people help you out is really amazing. If I tried to create a movement, I'd give up because of lack of interest. I don't really know which problem I would try to solve. There are many of them to choose, and I am not one for choosing. Teens, as long as they get their voice out (without criticism), can make any difference in the world.
Elesabeth (Madera, CA)
Everyone has struggles that they have to face, but its up to that person to turn it into something positive. Everything we go through in life does not go without reason. It can be painful & very difficult to get through, but it does not have to be. With exertion, we can help others who are going through something similar to what we were going through. Yes, i believe teenagers can make a brimming difference in the world, but only if we get off social media and genuinely take a look at the world. If we are unified as one with an understanding of what we are trying to change, and how we can change it.
Benjamin (Madera, Ca.)
I think it is very possible for teenagers make a difference in the world for example I have seen teenagers in other districts of the state and country where the high school students tried to create a organization where all depressed teenagers could seek help to stop the spread of suicidal thoughts and actions.
This article shows a great example on how the teenager youth can put a huge impact on the world either it be negative or positive. Because as the new generation where we have the power to change the world for the better or for the worst.
Britney B. (Madera, Ca.)
I personally believe that teenagers can make a difference. When reading this story in my mind, I wasn't surprised to see her try and help make a movement and make a real differences, because when you see someone you love die by hurting themselves, you want to do everything in your power to help others from what your loved one has done. There is a problem out here for our teenagers. They our the next generation and many don't pay attention to things like this that happen to people around them. They are more like followers, they see someone do something new like trends there more likely to jump onto the wagon and follower others with the trends. A teenager can make a difference in this world by jumping off the wagon and try something new and different ins-tide of following.
Brielle Y. (Madera, CA)
I believe that if these teenagers can make a change in the world, they maybe other teens can too. It shows that anyone can be capable to do anything. I was very surprised when it was made into movement. It shows that people support your idea, and it can spread the word. A problem that I would want to fix, is how girls try to make themselves look. What I think would help is, to talk to others who deal with the same issue and talk about themselves. Some ways they can make differences for example are, recycling or bullying. I believe that tees can make a difference.
A Hernandez (AZ)
I personally believe teenagers can't make a difference. Many teenagers are caught up on social media and themselves. Today's teens are our next generation and many teens don't pay attention to that. Teenagers are followers, if they see a new trend its most likely they will jump onto the wagon. Very little teenagers like to jump out of their comfort zone and try something new. They are like baby duckies following their mama. Although, teens can help then and there with donations, community service, etc.. and try to make a bit of a difference in their everyday lives, they will eventually continue with their everyday lives. Teenagers can't make a difference.
A Cicala (Arizona)
I personally believe teenagers cant change the world or make a difference. I mean they can definitely do things to help, but it wont make a difference. Teenagers are so small compared to the entire world, their like ants. I understand where your coming from saying teenagers can make a difference, but if were just being honest your only saying that because you want the to believe its true. you would rather have the world left in the hands of a capable teenager than an uneducated child. When you really think about it how can one teen change the way people think, especially when all adults think is there children. I'm not saying its impossible i'm just saying more than likely it would never happen. Teens are just too uninvolved and selfish they have other things to do than to fix issues after all they have to figure out wheat nail polish to wear or if there going to win next weeks game.I personally believe teenagers cant change the world or make a difference.
Alexis C. BEL (High Tech High School)
I believe that anyone, even teenagers, can change the world if they are truly motivated and serious about the cause. When I was reading this article I was feeling a lot of emotions. I was feeling a lot of sympathy for Jasilyn Charger because it's hard to imagine loosing two of my friends in such a short amount of time. I find it inspiring how such sad events were turned into something that could help so many people. Teenagers or people of any age can organize things like this and possibly save the lives of people close to them. As for how teenagers can help change the world, anyone can donate to organizations that help a cause they support, or just participating in an event can help.
Sarah (wyoming)
I think teenagers can make a difference in the world. I think all teenagers can do something for the earth. They can help the people in the community clean up the yards and property. Teenagers can write songs to encourage people to help the community. Teenagers can also inspire people to fight to save the earth by being leaders. Teenagers can save the planet and help protect the animals.
mason (wyo 307)
I don't think teenagers can make a difference because they don't look at the big picture they just look at the small picture..Look at pollution for example. people think we can do away with electric cars. but look at where we get electric at.. we get it at a power plant which puts off pollutions. So if you go with solar power there is not always sun out to charge that solar panel so you will have to have electric for a back up which there again pollution from the power plant.. same with wind there is not always wind and same with water there is not water every where.... so if people would look at the big picture they would see there wll always be pollution in the world...
Weston Wilkins (Wyoming)
Yes I believe that teenagers can make a difference. They do things that can help the world. For example, I'm going on a 2 year mission after I graduate high school. What I do is that I teach my kind of scriptures to others. I think teenagers can make a difference from the things they do.
Olivia C. (New Jersey)
In society it is common for teenagers to be looked down on by generations older than us. Most of the time the opinions of teenagers isn’t put accountant in situations important and insignificant. When there are stories about teenagers making a true difference and getting their voice spread it is truly motivational. In the article “Do You Think Teenagers Can Make a Difference in the World?” it states “They went to the tribal council, demanding and getting funds for a safe house for young people.” It is very inspiring that Jasilyn Charger helped to form a youth group to help teenagers on the reservation battle with suicide and fight political issues that concern their reservation. The movement she formed is very encouraging and shows that teenagers are more than the stereotypes we are stuck with. As a teenager I would love to work with a human rights movement and spread important messages through social media. Teenagers can make a difference in the world simply by promoting a movement they are interested in through social media. All we have to work on is making sure older generations take our opinions seriously and show them that we are capable of changing the world in an exceptional way.

Yes , i know . When the word teenager comes to mind you think of outrageous adolescents who are just mean and raging with hormones. I strongly believe that teens are able to change this world for the better with their fresh minds full of new questions and ways to answer them. If i had the opportunity , I'd help make a change in cancer. I'd go into studying cancer and all the advancements made over the years. From there I'd try too see what ideas I can continue to improve and hopefully come up with a cure. I have a first hand experience with this due to the facts that my father passed from the disease after 2 years of battling. I saw him suffer and struggle while doctors ran around trying and trying to stop it from growing but none of them was able to say , "Hey . look , this will end all your suffering and cure you from this disease ". I want to be the person to say that .

I think teenagers can make difference in the world, because I know Malala Yousafzai, a girl from Swat, Pakistan, who fights for girls’ right. She wanted schools for girls in Pakistan. She even got shot by the Taliban, but she didn’t stop fighting. She knows everyone should have education, especially girls. The Malala Fund continues to crusade for girls and their right to an education. Through the Malala Fund, she is working for a world where all girls can learn for 12 years and become leaders without fear. The Malala Fund’s aim is “to raise girls’ voices and ensure every girl has access to 12 years of free safe equality primary and secondary education.” You can find out more at malala.org

I believe teenagers can make as much of a difference in the world as technology did. Teenagers are the new generation and I think we should be given more credit for what we will be able to do in the future. Young people commit suicide because they don't believe they make a difference in any ones life. Teenagers can make a difference in the world if we are given the chance, just let us show you.
Athena B (Arizona)
Teenagers are our next generation. The first question that comes to mind is," are they going to make a difference?" In my personal opinion I say yes. Many teenagers have there own strength and weakness. Many teenagers are strong, smart, and inspirational. They are like tiny turtles going to the ocean to explore the world. Always learning everyday about what they want to be or what they should become. Teenagers are our next generation.
Joe Benick (Arizona)
With today's technology teenagers are very smart and always find new and easier ways to do things, invent things, and make the country a better place and other countries too.
Maria Hussein (Thunderbird High School)
I think teenagers can make the biggest changes in the world because they are really persistent to bring their talents and thoughts to life, Malala Yousafzai, Michael Brown protestors, and the activists for the Mexican missing students are some of them. Teenagers have great strength Many might think Malala’s protest was more important than others or she made more changes, but I think every step to protect our rights is more important than the one before because in every step we are further than we were yesterday. At the end we will reach our dream, and I can tell you it will be the best feeling ever.
Shanaz M. BEL (High Tech High School)
Teenagers, who's minds are always learning and developing to modern society, have the power to change the world if they try. 'Do You Think Teenagers Can Make a Difference in the World?" by Caroline Crosson Gilpin was an article that showed me how teenagers affect the world can be both positive and negative. I felt extreme sadness to know that so many people on the reservation had committed suicide, but I was glad to know it hadn't been brushed over or ignored by others. The affects of those suicides brought people together to fight for a better cause, saving the teenagers left from suffering a similar fate. I wasn't surprised by their need to fix this situation because I wanted them to seek help for others.
Problems which will always need to be fixed throughout time is the issue of human rights, racism, sexualities, genders, and many other social topics. I believe the path to solving these matters is a long one, and one that needs the cooperation of teenagers and youth all around the world. The Earth consists of so many cultures and societies, and these diverse places need to share their problems and ideas so the young people can help. Awareness and knowing where racism, homophobia, sexism, and all types of prejudice start is the first crucial step we all need to take.

Teenagers, the next generation of this planet, the generation full of hopes and dreams that may never end. With the voice of the next generation, the brains full of creative ideas that may make this world a better place to live. Answer to this question, why can't teenagers make such differences. They are the youngs, the hopeful people that may find extraordinary ideas that steps by steps complete the journey of the olders have left. They have the voice, they have the opportunities, they have hopes and more than the others, they have dreams that it's waiting to be completed. With all that, why can't such people make differences!
Zomorod Mohammed (Thunderbird high school)
Teens can makes a lot of difference, sometimes even more than the older people, and sometimes better than the older generation, by studying, and fighting for their rights and the rights of the people who can’t fight for themselves. The fight for the rights sometimes comes from the teens and that makes life easier for older people. A lot of teens became famous by changing a lot of rules and laws and by fighting for education and against war, like Malala Yousafzai and Joan of Arc, which is better than sitting on their phones or playing (not that Joan of Arc could have played on her phone since she changed the world hundreds of years ago!).
Cole (Arizona)
As I read the story, I was shocked that two of her friends killed themselves, and upset about the fact that "Native American teenagers and young adults are 1.5 times as likely to kill themselves as the national average..." (Saul Elbein). My emotions were on a roller coaster! I was also happy because there are people out there that can make others happy. I feel like every teenager can make a good difference. For example, they could always make their own friends have a smile!
StanleyCBEL3 (High Tech High School)
I’ve always thought that changing the world was unrealistic, that it was so farfetched that only one person out of a billion could do. Most of the people you read on the news or media that change the world are much more older and experienced but to see someone so young like Jasilyn Charger do something so courageous and strong really has made me reconsider my thoughts of changing the world. It all started with a simple group Jasilyn formed where “They raised money for basketball tournaments and for a youth trip to the Red Nation Film Festival in California, where the kids were able to see the ocean for the first time in their landlocked lives.” I would have never thought that an action made by a group so small could later make such an impactful move such as helping the Dakota Access Pipeline. After reading the article I realized that Jasilyn had done something I had thought was impossible after all these years. There are many ways that teenagers just like Jasilyn can change the world. Many people think that such small actions like holding a door for someone or giving a seat to the elderly won’t necessarily change the world but they are wrong. I think teenagers can change the world one at a time by doing acts of kindness and while it may seem small it is still powerful and it sends a message. I want to do something similar to Jasilyn or even greater than her actions to leave my mark on the earth one day.
Jeremiah B. BEL (NJ)
It is often questioned if teenagers can make a difference in the world, yet the answer is as clear as ever. Of course teenagers can make a difference, it only takes ambition. As it was seen in the article, “Do You Think Teenagers Can Make a Difference in the World?,” a simple teenager, by the name of Charger, was able to create a youth group in order to keep people happy and prevent them from committing suicide. What makes Charger so special, you may be thinking; nothing, he only had a goal and he set out to achieve it. Who’s to say we, fellow teenegars, can’t do the same? All that is required is one person with an objective and anything is possible. Individuals such as Malala Yousafzai, a girl who fought for girl’s education, and Yash Gupta, a boy who created a company which donates glasses to those in need, were just teenagers; yet, once they had an idea in their heads, they aimed to make it a reality and they succeeded and changed the world. Alexander the Great once said, “There is nothing impossible to him who will try,” meaning that nothing is impossible if you try your hardest, no matter if you are just a teenager, you can make a difference.

As I was reading this story, I felt shocked, sad, and hopeful. It states, “Jasilyn Charger was 19 when she learned her best friend had killed herself… It hurt all of us because there were people who we thought we knew but really we had no idea what they were going through.” The passage continues by giving statistics that really shocked me. Saul Elbein writes, “Native American teenagers and adults are 1.5 times as likely to kill themselves as the national average.” I felt hopeful, however, when I read how Charger created change by forming a youth group. I was inspired by her efforts to help reduce suicides among young people in her community because every time I hear a story about how the youth are creating change, it gives me hope that we will be the generation that becomes the change we hope to see in the world. I was not surprised by the way her desire snowballed into a movement and made a real difference because she was focusing on an issue that was affecting many Native Americans. Because she set her mind to preventing a problem that instilled a lot of fear in a population, she was bound to create change.
A problem that I would like to do something about is gender inequality. Growing up, I noticed how girls were looked down upon. Whether it be in gym class or in the classroom, we were not seen as equals. Now that my knowledge extends farther than my own classroom, I can see that it is a bigger problem than I thought. (Part 1)
MiccoIBEL4 (High Tech High School)
Women who seek more than a domestic life is seen as heartless, greedy, or power hungry. Girls are exposed to images of women that don’t represent them, and are therefore more prone to eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Some people think that women are not suitable for politics because they think that they will make rash decisions due to their menstrual cycle. Girls are sexualized at a young age. Yet, when they finally feel confident in their bodies, they are called numerous demeaning names. Girls are taught that the only way they can find happiness is in not in themselves, but in a man. I often think about the injustice we face and how if we were men, our lives would be easier. However, I then think about the issues that men face as well and realize that they can’t be ignored. The hyper masculinity that boys have to live up to every single day of their lives since the day they were born upsets me. From the second they breathe their first breath, their favorite color has to be blue and they have to live up to the idea of what a man should be. The moment they step away from the mold of what a “man” is, they are called gay. If they cry, they are told to “man up.” Men who have depression are more likely to resort to violent behavior, drugs, and alcohol. Consequently, the rate of suicide in males is rising, which is not a trend seen in females. (Part 2)

As I read the story, I felt sympathetic for Jasilyn Charger. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to lose two of your best friends! The article states. "..she flew home for her friend’s funeral..another friend killed herself. Charger was shocked." I then read that she started a youth group that helped teenagers look out for each other. I felt happy knowing that there are people who actually care about this topic. I was actually surprised that her small group became a movement. I had no idea that so many teens felt this way and required guidance. I now know that this is a real problem, and I want to help do something about it. There are things that teens (or a teen) can do. An idea would be to arrange talks. You don't need to spread the word about this subject only to teenagers who are feeling suicidal. Talking to as many people as possible can drastically influence the number of teens who 'attempt' or 'complete.' By talking to large audiences, the message that you are trying to convey will reach more people. It doesn't matter if you are a group or not, you can still make a difference. The article encourages anyone who wants to make a difference to do so. Like I said before, anyone can make a difference. The first step to doing so would be to take action. Put up flyers, start a group, even hold talk seminars. But it is important to take action and spread a positive message!

Before I read this article, I thought that one teenager couldn't change the world but I was proved wrong. One teenager could change the world for the better. As I read the story, my feelings were all over the place. I felt sad that the girl had to deal with the death of her two best friends, one after another. The article states, "Jasilyn Charger was 19 when she learned her best friend had killed herself." This quote impacted me immediately; I was shocked. The author wrote, "Then, two days later, while she was still in Eagle Butte-the largest town on the Cheyenne River Reservation with a population of 1,300-another friend killed herself." It made me realize that the hardest impact in life can wake you up and make you acknowledge what is happening around you. I was inspired to help out my community. Charger said, "Yeah, it looks all pretty on Facebook but really, what's going on in real life? You can be busy getting on Snapchat while someone's getting bullied." This made me realize that social media can distract you from reality. Teenagers should get together, and encourage others to help one another.

The author wrote, “Then, two day later, while she was still in Eagle Butte-the largest town on the Cheyenne River Reservation with a population of 1,300- another friend killed herself.” It made me realize that you don’t know what someone is going through unless you are in there shoes. Sometimes the hardest impact in life can wake you up and realize what is happening around you. I was inspired to help out my community just like Charger. Charger said, “Yeah, it looks all pretty on Facebook but really, what’s going on in real life? You can be busy getting on Snapchat while someone’s getting bullied.” This made me realize that social media can distract you from what is happening around you. Teenagers should get together and stop bullying and encourage others to help one another.

Even after reading the article “Do You Think Teenagers Can Make a Difference in the World?” by Caroline Crosson Gilpin, i still believe teenagers can make a difference in the world. While reading this article, I first felt upset when I was reading about Jasilyn Charger and how her friend had killed herself. As i continued to read this article, the article stated, “By the end of that summer, Jasilyn told me, 30 Cheyenne River kids attempted and eight completed.” At this point, I was wondering if there could be something these teenagers could do to stop these actions. Finally, I read, “Together with White Eyes and their friend, Trenton Casillas-Bakeberg, [Charger] formed a youth group.” This only proves that teenagers can make a difference in the world. Sometimes adults do not understand how teenagers think, but one teenager can understand another. I believe if teens come together, they can change the world for the better. Whether you’re saving lives, or making changes to the community, if teenagers come together, they can make a difference in our world like Jasilyn Charger and her friends.

As I read the story, I felt depressed and surprised reading about the girl who had to deal with two of her best friends that had killed themselves and that several other kids attempted and completed suicide. The article clearly states, “Jasilyn Charger was 19 when she learned her best friend had killed herself.” The author also mentions, “But in the summer of 2015, she flew home for her friend’s funeral. Then, two days later, while she was still in Eagle Butte — the largest town on the Cheyenne River Reservation with a population of 1,300 — another friend killed herself.” I was also inspired by Charger’s speech in tribal county especially when she stated, ““Yeah, it looks all pretty on Facebook,” Charger remembered saying, “but really, what’s going on in real life? You can be busy getting on Snapchat while someone’s getting bullied.”” This inspired me because teenagers these days get so carried away with their phones and social media that they don’t even know who their real friends are and don’t realize what something is worth until it's gone. I personally would like to ban the whole idea of “followers”, “subscribers”, and “friends” on social media only because it doesn’t make any sense to me how are you friends with someone you don’t know, haven’t had a conversation with, and usually haven’t even seen.

Just because someone may seem like they have a great life on social media, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are doing well in real-life. People usually tend to go on social media so that they can escape whatever problems they may be facing. I believe that teenagers can make a difference in the world by staying alert, speaking up, and simply not following the crowd especially when it comes to things like suicide. The author clearly mentions, “a single person created positive change on a small or a grand scale, in history or today, globally or in a small corner of your own world.” Be the person who makes the change and be the person who says no!

The time of the reading story I felt about the story, most of the teenagers and young people committed suicide because of depressing climate around the river. Here Charger made community and collected money for basketball tournaments to go to the Red National Film Festival in California removes their depression and frustration. More teenagers on the reservation killed themselves with belts, knives and handfuls of Benadryl for many kinds of depression a days when we are busy with YouTube,Viber,Facebook ,whats app,Skype for chatting while someone getting hares. In our native country one teenager group make a community where poor people can take their lunch for One TK(BANGLADESH currency),that is very influence me.0ne more thing most inspire me in 1952 ,21st February my country young people devoted their life for our mother language. I think one teenager can make diffract world crate social network (FACEBOOK) Can raise public awareness.

One teenager can change this world and it’s absolutely right. Nowadays it’s getting really easier with social media to help each other. When a teenager post a single thought or share a problem on a Facebook, it can get millions of likes and comments. Some people might give solution for that problem, especially teenager have more new ideas for that problem. So if teens stand for something, defiantly they can achieve it because they have the courage to do it.

I didn’t know young people can make a huge difference in the world, but when I read this article, I realize they can make even more things, things like this have domino effect to inspire others around the world, if they are together as society. It’s very sad that teenagers killed themselves. I was inspired when I knew that some teenagers have enough strength to be a good example for the community. These people are so young yet they create movements to stop suicide, teenagers can encourage others to watch out for each others by trying to get to know their depression and other stress they are going through, which might lead to all those suicides that had been committed everyday. Maybe young people are the ones who can bring solutions to decrease those cases.

I think teenagers can make a difference in the world like all of us and we should stand up to things like this and we should stop bullying.

Do I think teenagers can make a difference in the world? Definitely so many teenagers have already changed the world. Jasilyn Charger is one of the many teens who have made a difference. After she had lost two close friends it really woke her up. She stated “It hurt all of us because these were people who we thought we knew but really we had no idea what they were going through, It really woke us up.” Together with a couple of friends they did many great things for native americans, including being apart of the local campaign against the Keystone XL pipeline. Teenagers from all-around came together with many others to take part in the campaign. When teens see something unfair or wrong they will fight with all their might to make it right. So, in conclusion teens are probably the best people to make a difference in the world.

When I read the story , teenagers could really make a difference in the world, like Taylor charger . Because it shows the ability of what teenagers could do . Things like this have a domino affect to inspire others around the world. When the teenagers are in that age teenagers want to live life .They need good education and communication is very important for teenagers.

It is very sad to know that some teenagers suicide themselves in our country and society.when i was reading this article I am realizing the reality with the teenagers what problems they facing in there daily life. i being inspired of some teenagers that have strength to be leaders and set a good example to the community. I am very surprised that these people are so young and create movements to be able to stop the suicide we must place this information in the social networks so many of us and relatives of all the teenagers will find out how we can help them to be different and help That the others are different and stop with the suicides and any type of violence to know them and to help their families to understand them.

In relation to what these teenagers are confronting in these places of the nation to kill themselves is very worrying, for the reason that life is the most sacred thing we have all human beings, and that teenagers are the future of our society.

It is very important and necessary that the local authorities pay close attention to this situation. This is a very serious situation that has been happening, and I think this problem has a solution. There are several programs that the authorities can implement so that these teenagers remain occupied and that they do not take the suicide as the only way to solve their problems.
There are programs of rehabilitation, sports, education, etc., which help these young people to stay out of the streets and return to a normal life, to live together with their relatives. It is also very important to implement programs for parents, since the problem of the youth is reflected in the parents, and the problems of the parents in the young.
I think that all the problems in humanity begin in our psychology, from then on, they develop gradually, and if they are not treated properly, then they become a serious problem.

The vision of our future world lies in the hands of our teenagers and the youth. Because they are our future filled with big ambitions. It will be a great wastage if teenagers and the youth are not given an opportunity to exercise their talents to achieve their ambitions. When I read the story, I was shocked. But the story is beautiful and at the same time painful. Teenagers and the youth do not understand the true value of life. Sometimes they kill themselves without any good reason. I think they suffer from frustration, depression and criticism from people. If anyone goes through depression, my goal is to help them out. By spending time with them I will talk, listen and try to make them feel good about themselves. Yes, everyone should know teenagers can make a difference. Through their own effort and help from others they can solve their problems. In my country, Bangladesh, teenagers and the youth fought for the liberation war in 1971. Without them Bangladesh would not be independent today. So we should give more attention and care to our teenagers. If we provide them our love and care, they will make a prosperous world where people don’t hurt or discriminate against each other.

I really want to make the world a better place and bring more light and good to the world, but many times, when I listen to people who tell me about their problems. I don't know how to help. Even I can’t think of any practical advice or solutions to help. Finally I have been found is It’s a good idea to listen to what my parents have to say, weigh their thoughts, and decide what I want to do – realizing that they are older than me, wiser than me, and also objective. Also realize that my parents care about me a tremendous amount and want what they perceive as best for me.

When I read the story I was wondering – How a teenager was successfully able to solve a problem? – It was inspiring how a girl gets in to a social problem that affects thousands of young people. When the movement was snowballing it surprised me because they could get involved in a political environment.
Nowadays, there is a problem that affects millions of young people, and it is known as “Bullying” where others bully young people every day and it should not happen… In my opinion we should think how we would feel if this happened to us and it will not stop by itself if parents does not teach to their kids “values” and how to respect each other.

I know that children of any age can make a difference, as proven on the website of Young Voices for the Planet [http://www.youngvoicesonclimatechange.com].
As an inspirational lesson plan, just watch the videos with your class and see how empowered they are by seeing the differences that other young folks are making.

I think the each of us can make a difference in the world. The idea of raising finds to save teenagers from the street was very impressive. In everyday life we always find people who may need us. We can educate ourselves daily with good values, that make us better people. All crime, bullying, suicides, thefts and problems of adolescence in general can have solution always that we make one small difference in the world.

some people think that we habit in a world reigned by ignorance, marginality, poverty and injustice and it is true but i think that the teenager can make the difference. All the teenager face a variety of experiences but they can change practically everything that is proposed with a good education and communication

From reading this story i was saddened by all the teenagers committing suicide. But i was also inspired by the movement that one young girl started. I think that it is necessary to teach teenagers how to face difficulties in life. They want a beautiful life, and of course more attention. in our time we have been taught and we also need to do good and to keep trying again and again. if each of us do good then the world will change too. I think it is necessary to help a young teenager so that they can set an example to all their friends and other teenagers.

When I read this article, I really felt very sad. There are lot of teen students committed suicide because of depression. It may seem difficult to find ways to get out from this kind of situation. They don't understand, how can they handle those kind of situation. They need help from society to face those issue. We should try to stop this type of situation. Specially, parents and families can help them. I think, they need proper education and guide to face those situation. Education can stop those kind of problems, because this is a good tool for them to make better life. Education is the best and powerful way to protect our society and people. Teens can change their life, if they get proper education.

I am sad and angry about how the Native American Reservation is facing crisis once again. Suicides are a big problem affecting young adults around the world. All across the world, suicides kill innocent teenagers. Especially after reading the story, I was even more inspired to help prevent suicides among teens. I want help to stop suicides because young adults are killing themselves over bullying. Young adults are wasting their time on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter. If we stand up and help discourage bullying there would be fewer suicides. One voice is all that needed to make a positive impact. Today Keystone XL pipeline is trying to make its way through the Native American Reservation main source of drinking water, Cheyenne River. I want to help the Native Americans to stop the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. We could be using technology make a huge difference in the world. We want to take advantage of it.

I am really proud of this young girl in this story, she teaches us that no matter the person and age,we can have an impact in this society through our vision and our point of view regarding the situation .She encourage others to watch out on each other by trying to get to know their depression and other stress they going through, regarding of all those self suicide that been committed everyday, and also bring solution to decrease those cases. She engaging herself to political movement also and creating group to support her movement .I think we all should take that teen as exemple, and be motivated getting our own positive ideas out to lead to a change on that society that facing so many problems like that teen did. I learn on that story that teenagers can also play their part in the society and can be very powerful despite the age

I think we should keep the culture and to help young people who have more communication and give more education about social network. And develop in different areas like educations. How to put them in a new life style without hurt self. Make the people understand that young people make a different and inspire others teenagers.

In my opinion we must try that the adolescents have a better quality of life and one of the best way is teaching them that no matter what others do or say you are always important and you are the future of your nation. Today, suicides due to bullying, social pressure are an evil that we see and we are affecting us every day more therefore we must try to stop this type of behavior by paying more attention to the demands of our teenagers today. The article inspired me a lot because there are always people who sacrifice for others regardless of the consequences in my case I would love to create places where young people can not only recreate but where they can find someone to go to in some difficult time of their life.

When I finished reading this article immediately, I think at this moment in the world we have several problems because our teenagers could not understand the true meaning of life despite the tool available today for ease in everything. This situation we can see when the teenagers want to kill himself without any reason, but as opposed to many young people who have had to fight for their dreams. This situation has been presented by the lack of education in our teenagers about the good use of social networks because I think the real problem comes from education and we need more communication with our teenager because in this moment we do not happens in their main and they are the future.

When I read this story, my mind as if it frieze for a moment because that there are people who take their lives as if they will not care about others and how much it hurts their family, many teenagers who have many expectations, who want to go forward but also those who do not see for their future those teenagers, if they want to get ahead of those bad steps and can do it, their family will feel good, because they do not have teenagers in their community bad. The education is the base very important for the teenagers because is a good tool for the life and for the future theirs.

When I read the story, I remember about a teenager who was lived in the same country and the same district with me. He was so dangerous for the society by making so many armed robberies with others teenagers. His family didn’t know what to do and how to do to help him to get outside this way. Sometimes, he refuses to go to school; he prefers to go up and down the street to bother those who are going. One day, his mother went to church and after mass asks the priest for prayer. After, his life had change forever. I was surprised when I saw him on a journey prayer he was making the collection, and at this time, I was starting to think that teenagers can change the world. Today, in my opinion, I believe that teenagers can change the world because today he is a model for people by making prayer around the world.

In my opinion all young people are supposed to form and put on their part to improve the life of others, the planet, and the genres that come back. Today to youth are affected many themes, as is the bulling, the social pressures that conduct many times to suicide, depression and of course contamination, why are the young the future of morning and is the commitment of everyone to face also to the contamination because if it destroy to the planet, it affects our quality of life. It is important that all young people are not only concerned to study, work and review your social networks daily. Is very important too that they feel the need to improve our planet and be part of our purposes and happiness improve the life of others. I inspire much the effort of these people in this article to want to help and be part of the solution and not the problem, everything gives a first step an initiative.

Teenagers could make a difference in the world. The first step that we need to take is that we need to educate teenagers because when teenagers are in that age they just want to live life and they don’t know what there are doing. We in our society are the one that need to makes those change because Teenagers need to share more with they family and more after school activities.

I hadn’t been inspired by a teenager effort to reduce suicides in a community until I read this article. I think is very important everybody knows that young people can also make a difference through movements or campaign. It takes courage and efforts but if the teenager in the article could do it, so can we as adults. I believe it’s awesome when a group of people stand together for their rights and succeed. Weeks ago in my country the Dominican Republic, so many people including comedians, actors and journalists were walking throughout the streets against the government. I couldn’t be there but I think my presence might have helped because we as Dominicans have the right to protect our country and make it even better.
Alwaleed Mohammed (Thunderbird high School)
Teenagers could make a difference in the world, I have been reading about Malala, the Afghani girl who fights for girls’ rights, and I have read about Joan of Arc. I know that teens have the power to make a difference in the world and definitely they will continue to make change.
