You mean TRAVIS wouldn't be watching his traumatized son.... Right -- that's a typo....?

If NYT hadn't made so many user unfriendly changes to the Arts section - so it's easier for smart phones, I guess - it would not be such a pain in the behind to get to this and there might be more comments.

Finally, some meaty scenes with Alycia Debman-Carey, who is the only reason I'm watching FTWD. Its amazing to me that she had a better role on the CW than this much lauded show. I'm also tired of all the focus of Nick, who I've been rooting to get chomped up by a zombie for a year and a half now.

Travis & Chris: where will it end? 1. Chris shoots Travis, as Travis did his mother. 2. Travis shoots Chris, whom he sees becoming a monster. And will whoever is shot return as a zombie and devour the other? You may begin to suspect that I don’t foresee a happy end for these two. Of course we could get all romantic and 3. have them shoot each other fatally and then crawl into each other’s’ arms as they die (shades of “Duel in the Sun”). Happy endings: really, that’s not what you tend to get in zombie apocalypse tales. But seriously: Travis seems so nice and he has the ability to learn (and certainly he has become distrustful of strangers), but I fear that the former may be his undoing. Chris is not stupid, exactly, and I believe he can learn. I’m just not sure he will survive long enough to break out of his teen angst blinders.

Travis needs to bid farewell to his trouble son and see if he can find Madison.

E. A., 5th paragraph from the end, think you mean Travis, not Chris.

The farmer shot one of their group for killing a chicken when he already had a barn full of chickens. Chris was right to shoot him. Rick would agree.

I disagree. I think all they had to do was lower their weapons and it would have de-escalated the situation into a discussion instead of a showdown and the man might have given them a/some chicken(s). Their attitude was that of thugs taking what did not belong to them and the man was clearly defending what belonged to him. Rick also would have attempted to calm things down because he would not have seen the man as a threat either.
Karen (Ithaca)
This was the farmer's barn and chickens. He had buried 3 family members. He was confronted with and outnumbered by armed thugs, whose body language and voices were aggressive. Don't drag Rick into this--he would NEVER have let it escalate to this man being killed, and he certainly wouldn't agree that Chris should have shot him.

You can say that again

I hope to not cross paths with Mike if the apocalypse happens.
