Walkup reminded me of a young Magic Johnson, not Larry Bird. Walkup's ball handling skills were clearly evident, and the guy can make the long range jumper to boot. He's my kind of player...a hustler.
And for gosh-sakes I hope the Knicks, Nets, Bucks and other dreadful NBA teams pass on him because they won't take the time to nurture him and exploit his unique skills. Each of those teams have lousy managerial operations.

Unfortunately for the Lumberjacks, they were done in by the ploughshare (= Pflueger), who not-so-simply plowed his way to tip in the game-winning basket.
Guess he will be known as der Herzensbrecher for S.F. Austin basketball for quite awhile...

Walkup is the modern day reincarnation of Larry bird. Of course the Knicks won't draft this future NBA star, just as they passed on Stephan Curry.
They did win.
The hearts of those who fight for the little guys.
And maybe even the hearts of those who don't.

the losses are so tough for these young men, but the pride i would hope they carry can last a lifetime. i'm an athlete so I don't talk trash here - the heartbreak is real, but the accomplishments are MORE real. tough to lose, good to win, but, best to put it all out there bewteen the whistles and the lines.

Hell ofa game, hell ofa finish, the lumberjacks also won tonite.

A great game, the Lumberjacks won the night and Thomas Walkup will be a great addition to any NBA team. Congratulations.
To anyone interested, review the last two minutes of that game and note the iffy calls and no-calls that could very well have changed the outcome. Just sayin'.

Just before the ND player tapped in the winning basket, another ND player shoved an SFA player who was in position to get that rebound from behind, clearly knocking him away from the ball. An obvious foul that was not called.
As a WVU fan, I was really impressed with Walkup's great game Friday. He almost single handedly beat WVU.

Walkup will make any NBA team better immediately. The Knicks could certainly use him as an example of how to play the game of basketball.

the knicks need way more than a walkup. They need an owner who knows basketball, or who knows enough to stay away. And the knicks are so yesterday. Golden State!

Agree but Walkup at least would be a start.
The Knicks could sorely use Walkup who plays with more guts and passion than their entire team.

In the last two minutes of the game the calls and no calls clearly favored ND, especially the obviously wrong foul call on SFA rebounding the ball in the key after an SFA missed shot. Changed the pace and tenor of the game.
The NCAA clearly wouldn't want to upset the big money machine that is the Irish even though SFA outplayed them.
