This is a veteran team that won't panic. They need to play better and they can't keep giving up so many high quality scoring chances. Lundquist should have probably snagged the OT winner last night but on many of the goals in the last two nights he didn't have a chance. The Rangers are getting open looks too but are not as good as Tampa Bay in converting those. They are down two games to one so don't leap off any buildings just yet. Enjoy this wonderful open-skating style and think back to the hockey Dark Ages of the neutral zone trap and all the clutching and grabbing

How about a Lou Fontinato clone to knock a few of these twerps into the second row.

Leapin' Lou would let them come to him. I remember him beating the heck out of Gordie Howe's fist with his nose. Oh, wait a minute, I may have to rethink this.

Lundqvist isn't the problem and he has always come up big when the situation demanded it. The Rangers need to stay on their checks and not be as careless with the puck, particularly when they are passing or shooting near their offensive blue line. Turnovers here have led to many of the Lightenings fast breaks and often with numbers in their favor.

Sloppy passing has been one of the Rangers' nasty habits lately. They were able to get away with it playing against less skilled teams, but it's a very bad habit the Lightning are good at taking advantage of.
Is it time to pull Lundqvist?Twelve goals in 2 games? He seems to be slowing down under the onslaught.

It is not time to panic. They are still in the series.
I was surprised he wasn't pulled yesterday after Tampa scored goal #4.

I thought the Rangers played their best hockey with Talbot in net. It's not going to happen, but I'd be for a change.
And St. Louis & Boyle (goal notwithstanding) have been awful. Boyle is a totally insufficient replacement for Stralman and the power play - that he was brought in to "fix" - has been awful. Even worse, Boyle's PP ineffectiveness caused them to pull the trigger on the Yandle trade that they overpayed for dearly. Aaaarrrrggghhh...
