I can see the letters “NYC”, so this place is New York. Also, I can see a black receiver in this box, so this equipment is one of the old pay phones in NY. Moreover, in this picture, this pay phone booth is being taken away by the towing truck, and people are taking pictures or videos of this removal. From such evidence, this pay phone is so historical that people want to see the end of this facility. Although the demand for this equipment is gone, this has been familiar to the citizens, so until the end, this pay phone has been able to keep itself clean.

-it looks like a construction site (cranes moving, orange cones, construction workers)
-maybe they are taking down an important building (cranes, orange cones, construction workers, people taking photos with their cameras
-there is some type of important event taking place (people taking photos, it is in a large city/NYC, cones are placed to block off the area)

In the picture there are a lot of things going on. There are people taking pictures, some construction going on, and people walking around the area. I said this because that's what the image is showing us and that's basically the only thing i could see and tell about. I could find stores around the area, construction cones and tall buildings.

in this image, a telephone type thing is getting lifted out of the ground from a crane. There are some cafes and food places in the back of the scene. People in the front of the photo are making videos and taking some photos of the pay phone getting lifted. The crane is on a truck that drives it around, all the big tower looking buildings. There are cones to make sure people do not go close to the pay phone because it is dangerous. There are people in the front and back of the photo watching also. You can tell that it's in New York if you didn't read the title because the pay phone has DOC NYC on it. Our class noticed there was construction going on. It appears that a phonebooth is being pulled out. We think they are removing a bus stop from somewhere in or near New York City - there seems to be debris around the bolts in the sidewalk, so it is unlikely to be new, and the billboard on the side says "NYC" and the area is crowded with taller buildings close together, all of which is typical of New York. There are also people filming it, so we wonder if there was any controversy about removing the stop, especially because it seems a busy, popular intersection, with restaurants, businesses, etc.

What i can see in the picture is a truck removing a pay phone. The reason why I said that is because you can see construction workers and a truck pull the pay phone out of the ground. You can find people taking pictures or videoing it.
What I think is happening is that the government or construction workers are taking off some payphones. What makes me say this is that I see the payphones being taken away/lifted. Something else I noticed is that people are recording which probably means that the payphones being taken away is something significant.

I think in the picture that cell phone booth is no longer in use so they are removing it and potentially are adding something more useful. I know this because it is in newer times where we can clearly see that people have their own cell phones and wouldn't be needing to use phone booths. Some things that helped me draw this conclusion are the people in front recording, maybe they are going to post this image somewhere and talk about how much we have evolved in this world. It's a closed street in NY in the year 2020 on a sunny day. We know it's in NY because of the ad on the side of the phone booth. The tow truck is taking the phone booth away. This is perhaps because nobody uses it. There's a group of people taking photos on thier mobile phones.
In this picture I can see a phone booth being removed by an orange truck. I would say that the booth is being removed because we do not need anymore phone booths, as we have our own phones and electronics and do not need to rely on them anymore. I think that the phone booth being removed is the last one that they had there. We have had phone booths for many many years therefore that is why it is a big thing.

There is one obvious answer to what is going on: chaos. Beyond that if we really look into it we a crane extracting a bus stop out of the ground. It could be because it’s an important bus stop, or people just find the pure strength of machines fascinating. The flashing colors of the city and the swarm of people makes it more interesting than it really is though.

Our Grade 5/6 class thinks the crane is removing a telephone booth. We think this because there is a phone on the wall. At first, we thought it could be a bus shelter, but then noticed the phone on the wall. This is a construction site because we see a crane, pylons, a worker in a fluorescent vest and hard hat. We think this is in New York because it says NYC on the side of the booth. As well, we see large billboards in the background, which normally are shown in larger cities. The language on the poster is in English and Applebees is a popular American restaurant.
I believe what's going on in this image is the removal of a NYC payphone. Considering how payphones are outdated compared to today. It's more than likely the city is making space. Another possibility could be it being replaced with something else. The taping from the citizens can infer a significance, this may be the first or last removal of a payphone. We know this because we see a crane lifting the booth which has a telephone symbol on it. We know this is in NYC because there are many big billboards and the board on the phone booth says, "DOC NYC". The reason we think that this is the last telephone booth is because we see many people recording and taking photos of the booth as it makes its final journey to a museum.

I believe this because there is a crowd photographing a payphone with workers removing it, and because, just like blockbusters, the use of payphones is dwindling, driving the payphones out of business. Usually there's no crowd for construction/removal unless it's something special, which leads me to the conclusion that I think it's the last payphone. Where? I think it's in New York City, because on the side of the payphone it says "NYC." I think this was taken around this year, knowing that in the early 2000s payphones were at their peak, then slowly died out.

Most people have mobile telephones now especially in the city. Now mobile phones are cheap enough for most people to buy. So it doesn't really make sense to have a phone booth crowding up the sidewalk and making it more crowded.

Since nowadays everyone uses phones to call people there isn't a high demand or need for phone booths anymore. It's honestly sad to see because they were around for so long. Truly nostalgic.

The image shown is of the last payphone in New York City being taken out. Because our technology has evolved so much nowadays, the use of public phones is no longer as needed as it once was. Ever since mobile phones were modernized and have dominated our daily lives, changing them in so many ways, public phone booths are barely being used. I also believe that these phone booths were taken out because they cause the spread of a lot of germs. If everyone is touching the phone with their hands, this spreads germs a lot easier and can get people very sick. Overall, I think that both COVID-19 and the modernization of public technology have caused phone booths to be removed.

It appears as if some people are picking up a bus stop area that one may usually sit in. I think this due to how what may be a crane type thing that can be put on a truck is picking up a bus station. The people around it though is what seems to be either taking pictures or videos. This could be due to that it is a really important one or that it's not necessarily common to see this happen.

As I looked closer, though, what I thought was a bus stop it actually an old telephone booth, and this photo is very ironic because people are taking photos/videos of the construction happening with their modern day cell phones, showing that we don't need old technology anymore because we have modern day electronics.
@Emma L People still use the bus quite a lot in New York City. Why would they take out a bus stop? Public bussing is still very common in the city, and if it was being rerouted or taken down, a lot of people would lose a method of transportation (since a lot of people don't have cars either).

This picture is a phone booth being removed from a sidewalk in New York. The year is 2020, which we can tell from the side of the phone booth. The ironic part of this picture is that the people filming the event are using the devices that rendered the phone booth obsolete.
Using the DOC NYC 2020 sign (a documentary festival in New York City), this event probably took place in Summer/Fall of 2019 since nobody is wearing a mask and nobody's in a heavy coat. I also see that there's a phone inside the thing being removed lending to me that it's a phone booth. Considering that everyone has a phone out, this event might be very significant. My prediction is that it's because it is the last phone booth in New York City being removed.

I also notice that this might be in a city because it looks busy and I see many billboards. I think there are construction workers that are removing either a bus waiting station or a telephone booth. Maybe people are just amazed at how much stuff there is going on at the moment because there are at least 4 people taking pictures of the situation. I would say because I see the crane and construction workers, along with the booth getting ripped off the ground. Also, you can see a lot of stuff going on in the background and the people that are taking the pictures.I found that there is a deli cafe behind the crane along with an Applebee’s restaurant. It is also in New York because there is New York branding all around the picture.

Lately New York City has been under some changes, becoming more modern than ever before, and knowing this, I beleive this could be a step twords becoming more modern. By looking at this picture I can see a big machine pulling up a phone booth. Its surroundings are a big busy city, behind the machine there is an Applebees and a café established and people seem to be recording while the machine is working. I infer that this might be the last phone booth in their city and it is being removed.
In this picture, a telephone booth is taken out of the sidewalk in NYC with people around recording. This could signify a new beginning or end to the surrounding society. I know this NYC because if you look at the truck taking the telephone booth it has "Staten Island" which is in NYC, the booth also has a NYC sign.
As I can tell, there is a construction site and a claw removing a telephone booth. I say this because many people gathered with their phones out taking pictures and videos for some reason. I can see that this may be located in a famous city of New York, I say this because there are food places such as apple bees, delicatessen cafe, and Gregory's cafe. There are also billboards promoting movies and companies such as Jarrasic park and Roku Tv.
In this picture I see that they removing a payphone in New York City because there really is no use for them now that everyone has a smartphone and there is a lot of people around so it may be one of the last one being removed.
In this picture, there is an electrical company removing a payphone from the ground in NYC and people are taking pictures. The people crowded taking pictures can show that many other historical payphones are being removed from this city because not many people go around taking pictures of objects being removed from the ground so this might be significant for the people in this city.
There is a phone booth that is getting moved because it is not making enough money because people are just using their cell phones. People are using these phones to take pictures of the removal.
I believe there renovating the sidewalk. We can see in the picture, that there is what looks like a phone post being pulled out from the ground. In the corner of the post, we see a picture of a phone showing us it's a phone book. In the corners, we can see orange cones everywhere around the post signifying there is a construction going on. Everyone has their phones out showing this is a huge deal, technologically and showing modernization of how everyone has a cell phone nowadays. This takes place in New York. We know this because in the phone booth it says NYC and in the truck, we can see Staten Island which is only located in New York.
In this picture I believe they ripping the last payphone in NYC. To support my claim we find the crane ripping it up and we the dirt under. We also see people around recording and the lady in the back right taking a photo with a good camera. I think this payphone has significance because the people are recording this event. This as well shows the significance of how we are modernizing and updating our tech.
In this picture, it looks like a crane is being used to rip out a pay phone. This must be the last public one because people are standing around it and taking videos and pictures while it's happening. This is also happening in New York in Staten island because on the truck taking it away it says Staten island and on the pay phone booth, it says NYC.
In this picture I believe the last public payphone is being removed in New York city. Mainly because the people gather around are recording or taking pictures. A machine is pulling out the phone box from the ground. I know it's New York because I research the cafe name. It's mobilizing society because people don't use phone booths anymore.
After reviewing the image, we can see that a payphone is being removed and I believe that this image might have taken place in New York. What makes me say this is the amount of advertisements being shown in the image such as the ones on top of the buildings and the "DOC NYC" letters on the side of the payphone. I think this could have been the last payphone in New York, that's the reason why so many people are taking images or videos.
I think that they are removing a phone booth in New York. What makes me say that is the fact that I can see the dirt and the holes on the ground since they pulled it out of it. I think it might be something important because there is a lot of them around it recording how they are removing it. This shows how society has changed and how technology has revolutionized to the point where we don't need a pay phone since we have our own phones.

I can see that there is a truck pulling a phone booth out of the ground with "DOC NYC" on the side of it making it clear it's in NY.
The truck is also a part of a company for electrical and data-com assistance in the NY area called Hylan.
I think that this is the last payphone in New York. I know that this is New York because on the payphone it says DOC NYC. The reason why I think it is the last one is that the group of people taking photos/videos, it seems to have gathered a lot of attention.
In the picture, I think that a payphone is getting removed. I think this payphone is very important because there are many people standing by recording and taking pictures. There is also a truck with a machine that is removing the payphone from the ground. It shows how now people are so advanced in technology that there is no need for a payphone when you can have a small device like the ones the people have in the picture all day with you.
Looks to me like they are removing a telephone booth because there is a crane lifting the telephone booth and the surroundings are cleared so people don't get hurt in the process. I also noticed some people are taking pictures of the crane removing the telephone booth which is weird.
After analyzing the image we can clearly see that this looks like it took place in New York due to the buildings and huge amounts of Advertising. We can see that there are lots of people there recording the construction workers take away two payphones. There is a big red crane that is lifting the payphone out of the ground and this is also showing how we are advaning technologically as a society to the point where payphones are outdated.
I think there's a group of people taking pictures and videos of a phone booth being extracted in NYC. There is a "Titan" booth that has a telephone inside which says "Doc NYC" on the side and is being pulled out from the ground by a Hylan crane truck. There is a group of people taking pictures and videos which leads me to believe that there is something special about this phone booth removal.

People are witnessing the very last pay phone being taken off of the streets of New York City. In the picture we can see the Datacom and Electrical truck pulling off the last pay phone. The people that are closer to the camera are seen taking pictures as this is happening. I know that this is in New York City because the pay phone ad on the side says " Doc NYC". In addition payphones are not needed anymore, more than half of the population (if not all) have access to a smart phone where they can make calls from.
What I believe is going on is construction workers are removing a telephone booth. My reasoning for this is the crane on the truck is lifting it up the booth because you can see the metal is worn out at the bottom you can also see cones set up and construction workers since they have vests and construction hats.
I think a pay phone booth is being removed from a big city. There's a crane pulling out the pay phone, and people there are taking pictures/videos of the situation. I believe this has some significance because the removal of a pay phone shows how technology has evolved.

We inferred that the phone booth was being lifted because of what is under the booth that was probably in the cement. We also infer that it is being lifted because the cement under is not wet. One of my students is inferring that people are taking pictures because there is something monumental about this booth. That area possibly no longer has any booths. They also could be moving it to another area.
One of my students also inferred that maybe everyone is actually taking a picture of the billboard for Jurassic because it might be barely premiering.

It looks like they're removing a phone booth from the city. I say this because I see there are city workers there and they are using a crane to take it off the ground. I also see there are people recording with their phones.
i think the city is removing a phone booth.i think this because the phone booth still has dirt on the bottom which means it ´ s being removed.i also see that this is happening in New York because of the logo on the side.
I think the city is changing and becoming more modern. I believe this because they are removing the phone booth. Also many people are taking pictures. This makes me believe people are seeing the change in generations where phone booths are no longer needed due to all the technology in the world.
I think that they are going to build something because they are moving an object somewhere else. Also in the picture you can see that there are a lot of people watching. In this picture you can see that some people are taking pictures or recording.
We think that the truck is pulling a bus stop out of the street, because it is broken and they are going to fix it. And the police are putting out traffic cones to stop the traffic. Meanwhile, people are taking photos.

What I believe is going on is that the bus stop got crashed into by a car and its not usable anymore I can tell this by seeing a machine taking out the bus stop from the ground I can also tell this because there are people recording the procedure probably broadcasting the car cash and how the bus stop is unusable and getting taken out.

I think that the phone booth has been remove because there's a truck that says "Datacom & Electrical", has it hanging and hooked up with some ropes at the top and the orange cones around it and people who is taking it off taking care around. Also there's people taking pictures or recording since they have their phones up and pointing to what's happening with the phone booth.

I see s a booth either aphone booth or something being pulled out and other people on the sidewalk recording with phones. I see this because there seems to be a som sort of truck with a claw and rope pulling out what looks like a booth. And in this picture you ca see about three people who are recording the booth being pulled out. If this is a telephone booth being pulled out then there will be disagreements everywhere because some people who dot have phones need to rely on telephone booths.
I can observe that in this picture workers are removing what looks like a telephone station from a public street in New York.The telephone booth is obviously being pulled up off the ground but I can see that it has NYC in the side which is why I think this is taking place in New York. I can also observe that many citizens are reacting by recording this action.

I see they are taking a booth out the ground in New York, and they may be putting something new there. There are a lot of of people recording, and I think they're recording because it's a phone booth. There is also a lot of restaurants in the back and a weird ad with a man and a dinosaur. There are a lot of people there so it must be a really busy street, and them doing construction may make it even more crowded.

We believe this is taking place in New York City because we can see a blue sign on the side of the phone booth that says DOC NYC. We think the phone booths are being removed because almost everyone has access to a cellphone. However, we do not think is a good idea because not everyone has a personal cell phone and may need access to a pay phone.

A phone booth is being remove inside NYC. We can tell because you can zoom in to see a wall-mounted phone. We can tell its in NYC because the booth has NYC written on its side.
We infer...
1. ...it's from NYC in 2021 because on the bus stop is said DOC 2020. The roads are being blocked from construction. There is a sign for Jurassic World, and people are no loner using masks.
2... the crane is taking the bus stop with COVID being in the past.
3... they are taking a phone booth from NYC and they are taking it from the ground and people are recording because it's the last.
4...the bus stop is being removed because of the traffic.
5...this is a bus stop because there is a phone and it's facing the wrong way. We don't use phone lies anymore, and this is likely 2022 because of the lack of masks.

Its in NYC and it could be a construction site or a movie set. They could be removing the phone booth because everyone uses cell phones now or a movie set that people are filming with their phones.
In this picture, I see what looks like a telephone booth being ripped out of the ground in NYC. What makes me think this is I see "NYC" on the side of the phone booth also the truck that is ripping it out of the the ground is a company in New York. Also the atmosphere looks like New York. Other things that I notice is that people are gathered around and recording this happening.
In New York I see that they are taking a phone booth off the sidewalk. I see people are recording this process. I think they may be replacing it with something newer and people are recording it because maybe it's the last one since phone booths are no longer used.
In this picture, it looks to me as if a phone booth is being taken from the sidewalk. It seems the picture was taken midday. It's being pulled up by a machine and is being recorded by another phone. This may symbolize our technology evolving, the people no longer need the phone booth because they all have a mobile cell phone like the one being held up in the photo.

I came to this conclusion because I see multiple people holding phones and using their camera features, a booth containing what looks like a telephone, a crane holding the booth off the ground, and the letters "NYC" on the side of the booth. I also see large buildings in the background, a large image or billboard, and traffic cones on the road.
In the picture a bus stop is being yanked out of the sidewalk. There are a bunch of workers there and they seem to all be trying to remove the bus stop. Im not sure exactly why they are removing it but I think that the bus stop holds some significance to the city that this picture was taken in. The people could either be happy the bus stop is going or they could be mad. Another option is that they have never seen construction vehicles before and are shocked.
I see a crane moving a phone booth because people don't use it anymore, all of them being on their smartphones recording the process. It shows technology being upgraded while older technology becomes outdated as time progresses.
Looks like some kind of bus stop is getting taken out while people are recording it. The bus stop could be old or could be an inconvenience in that particular spot, or even that it just simply doesn't get used and is taking up space. I can also see that in the far right-hand corner there are some people blocking off the road cutting it off with yellow traffic cones, potentially relating to the crane picking up the bus stop.

1. It think constructions is being done and the phone booth is being taken off of the sidewalk. It looks like it happended recently because of the newer kind of phones. I think construction is being done because I cant think of any other reason why this would be going on.
It seems as though they are removing a phone booth. Maybe there is little to no use for it anymore due to advancing technology such as smartphones. There are also people that seem to be recording this happening. This picture was taken in New York because you can see "NYC" on the side of the phone booth. Also, this might've been happening during the morning or early afternoon because there is still plenty of light outside. Plenty of restaurants and cafes can be seen in this photograph. This also might've been in Staten Island because on the truck you can make out the word "Staten"
